  1. Well I suspect that a basic Kuznetsov style U.S. carrier will be present. Whether there will be realistic deck operations is a different matter.
  2. Fixed that for you :D
  3. Why are most people excited for this? Is it the AA/AG capability? The naval ops? Or the fact it's the first proper DCS level U.S. fast mover? For me I'm interested in all of the above, but the naval operations really need to be included to a decent degree to get the full taste of the hornet. Can someone explain the difference between the superhornet and the hornet? Which one are supposedly getting?
  4. I'm guessing Hornet first, Naval ops later.
  5. [speculation]Maybe making sure the code is stable for porting over to dedicated server?[/speculation]
  6. All good news. But talk is cheap... lets see some product! ;)
  7. On that theme... I would like to add my video :) v1qnryNwYr8
  8. He looked very tired.
  9. B29 Superfortress and associated 1945 'accessories'. ;)
  10. I have an iPad2, will definitely try this.
  11. It does work.
  12. Two ways: 1. Have JTAC give you the Lat/Long and input into CDU then slew to the location. 2. Have JTAC lase the target and use LSS mode on the TGP to locate the beam and target. You will need an approximate bearing of the laser when in LSS mode so you point your TGP in its its general location. It should then lock on, you can then tweak the TGP and mark the target as SPI. Buddy lasing may be useful if the laser on your TGP has failed and you need to drop an LGB.
  13. That is if Mr Putin hasn't arbitrarily signed a decree banning Christmas.
  14. Hmm copy and paste the key to them via email?
  15. Hmm a DCS Jaguar would be nice!
  16. Wow that air of authority is just so... sexy!
  17. I would walk barefoot across broken glass for a DCS MiG 29.
  18. The hit on frame rate with explosions and the lack of realism is well documented. There have been some improvements but they still are pretty sucky :(
  19. This would make a great scout for CAS flights. :)
  20. Thanks! Great explanation. I had a feeling there was an advantage somewhere but wasn't sure what.
  21. But isn't UDP even worse in that respect? It has no transmission control mechanism and is generally considered low priority in some cases. At least with TCP you can pretty much rely on the packet arrival instead of having potential gaps. UDP is generally used for broadcast, DHCP responses or streaming media afaik.
  22. UDP is a rediculous protocol to use in a sim where accuracy and reliability is key. It would be better to use TCP even if the server overheads are higher.
  23. The big problem with that is, how do you convice new customers to install a new operating system they know nothing about just to play a game? Not worth the effort.
  24. Sweet ta
