  1. It's quite clear what the plan is in his post. I don't know why theres a huge debate. F15 and Su27 independent modules so users without lock on can fly and then later we get DCS F15 and Su27 along with F18 much later on. English. Do you speak it? lol
  2. Haha. To buy the hardware... /dials
  3. In terms of CPU usage, the CPU in DCS should be mostly calculating the flight dynamics, collision detection and general game logic. Yes certain areas of the map are full of buildings and other objects, but most of them are just simple shapes with virtually no modern day post-processing effects. DCS still uses antiquated. antialiasing methods. No FXAA which is much more efficient. If theres any slow down on a decent gaming rig I would put it down to the engine struggling rather than anything else.
  4. This of course would mean multicrewed ground units too. The only issue I see is the limited numbers of players that multiplayer can accommodate at the moment, which restricts its potential somewhat.
  5. No. I just read the release notes.
  6. Well maybe not worse, but certainly nit picky. "In BMS I could smell the pilots farts", that kind of thing.
  7. I'm not sure how much I would want the F16 simply because of the large number of posts that will inevitably appear on these forums explaining how the DCS version just isn't as good as the BMS version and the arguments that ensue.
  8. Yes. But who knows which patch it will be in.
  9. " for a later update"
  10. What's a hot start? :)
  11. Bought it today :)
  12. I would not object to an F16 being developed, nor would I object to it not being developed.
  13. Just bought. Can't play until Sunday night though :(
  14. I think all we need is an infantry module. But to really realise the full potential of DCS World, a full dedicated server is needed.
  15. Simples, you would control the WSO as well. Remember Tornado? Same thing.
  16. Oh don't get me wrong, I agree. I do think Xbox games are a rip off though compared to the same product on the PC. I do wonder though how ED even manage to get their products out there to prospective audiences. I mean, when was the last time you saw a DCS product even advertised? It seems that it's only known in the flight sim fraternity. Although if you ask some FSX fanatics if they have heard of DCS World, they would look at you with a blank expression. I fully support ED and if they need to price at this point to remain a viable business then so be it.
  17. $49.99 is just at the cusp of 'taking the mick' for an addon beta product. I'll still get it but thats only because I have some spare cash.
  18. Thanks for all the hard work ED!
  19. Hi chaps. I updated the googledoc with my details. Sorry it's been a while but I'd like to remain in contact for when im able to fly again
  20. I would love cold war era bombers fully modeled in DCS. The Vulcan and Victor in particular.
  21. A TrackIR 4 if you can find one second hand will do the same job too.
  22. If you're going to go down the FaceTrackNOIR route, make sure you get a cam thats capable of at least 60fps. No substitute for TrackIR 5 though.
  23. Nukes, hmm. Might be good in the context of a 'stop the terrorists' campaign but I fail to see where they are relevant since they've been only used once. Also you could never make them realistic enough. The devastation and the after effects are probably too great for the sim to manage effectively. I would prefer a fuel-air bomb instead?
  24. Cool. Now someone do something with the road textures, they look terrible :D
  25. 240KT is kiloton. Which is the same as 240,000 tons of TNT. MT is megaton which million tons of TNT. Such as the Tsar Bomba which was the worlds largest nuclear detonation at 57MT.
