For those that haven't done so already I'd wait for the 4k tvs to advance as all the 4k tvs have very bad response time compared to the 1080p. Makes a big difference in picture quality and sense of flight so to speak. Also if your a nvidia gpu owner you can use Dsr if you want higher res on your 1080p screen. Or just get a passive 3dtv and edid hack it so you can run full 1080p 3d in dcs world. 4k is pretty for screen shots but 3d will blow your mind or just wait for the official release of oculus rift.. Many options out their me personally I wouldn't waste the money on 4k tvs right now

I'm very happy that the colors are being tweaked in Nevada, bring on that dirty dry looking climate. Good job guys !!! Even the current map looks way more epic in edge due to the graphical advancements. As one who plays with allot of mods making minor changes in graphics goes a long way in a map you know like the back of your hand. I salute Wags in giving updates and I think that is the courteous standard that should be upheld. You have die hard fans and supporters of this sim for many years, some including myself have gotten frustrated and lost hope at times but it's very good and reassuring to hear from you guys. I wish their was weekly dev blogs because following the advancements and dealings with technology is half the fun !

So? Ed broke the shadows in game with recent patch? How? Looking at change log wouldn't think anything would break cloud shadows .... This sucks

To many thin skinned peeps around here, I fully support the modders and will always say their work will surpass those of developers. The current screen shots and videos of edge it looks to vibrant and not realistic as far as the lighting and color grading goes. But that's what is great again about modders and something like sweefx, you can tweak it till your perceived perfection. I really hope they get the global illumination dialed in better especially for Nevada. As of now it looks like a cartoon So if you've seen videos of a10c flying around in real world Nevada you will notice a yellowish gradient in the colors, not the blue gradient currently seen in the screen shots and videos. I imagine their will be settings to tweak aka HDR like we currently have. But that isn't enough for the current engine.

oh i can guarantee you the modders like these guys will make the cartoon looking graphics of edge look more realistic and epic like some have with this older engine. Best thing about PC is the MOdders, make games 100 times better keep up good work!

EXACTLY, hence why i said i wish all aircraft where at the same level as the a10c is. I find it funny the fc3 guys fly around in call of duty aircraft in a real simulator. press two buttons and your airborne. The fc3 aircraft are awesome and would be mooooaaar awesome if they where true MODULES... thats all im saying and wishing for. One way to mitigate the difficulty would be to have every aircraft have an easy fc3 level setting and an A10c uber module setting. Also have it enforceable via your multiplayer server settings.

thats great and all but they really need to get rid of COD aka FC3 aircraft, all should be A10c level modules. pray that someday it will be reality

Sweet I wonder if that no reflections will fix that annoying weirdness in 3d :). That's the one and only error I get in 3d is the shore reflections I'll give her a try

Yes I am willing to ship overseas to a fellow simmer. If cost is uber than might need altitude help with that.

I have a similar system you need to overclock that 4770k I have mine at 4.6ghz. When I ran nvidia surround in dcs with sli 770 which I am selling I was at 60fps until you got near big cities, then I would be in 40's and 50's Get nvidia inspector and change the sli profile for digital combat simulator black shark as called that in nvidia inspector, and change sli profile to the very last one don't recall name but that gave me the best performance in sli if you have it. If you only have one card well it's not enough for nvidia surround unfortunately. Dcs world is very very cpu dependent just like arma 3 and arma 2. Higher clock on processor the better. Also make sure in dcs settings you are playing in full screen if not your performance will suffer in nvidia surround.

Many games out their that use dx11 and run like crap, dx11 doesn't automatically mean good performance. Yes it should be better performance and trust me I pray we don't end up like Arma 3......

Don't bet on it, you will need an uber system to run the new Engine at full boar graphics unless they dumb it down majorly. All those epicly detailed maps will use much more horsepower. Going to be great and I imagine their will be patches released after release to continue to improve performance. Hopefully nvidia and ati actually make really good profiles for the new engine. I for one hope that yes you are correct and we get awesome performance, but won't know until we are actually flying in edge.

I picked up a evga gtx 980 super lock addition, runs Dsr great much better than 770 sli. But I still prefer to fly in 3d, and am loving the single card days again. Less hassle and this baby runs cool :)
