  1. Welcome! Check this thread out for helping to tune your PC to try and get 45 fps with motion smoothing to iron out your VR experience out.
  2. I was able to recreate this and you are 100% correct, thanks!
  3. I'll give this a try and see if I can recreate, thanks!
  4. I'm assuming this is an accurate manual but who knows: https://info.publicintelligence.net/USArmy-ApacheLongbow.pdf on page 4-74 and all it says for the boresighting procedure is: 6. WPN page - BORESIGHT button - Select. 7. IHADSS button - Select. 8. PRI INT LT knob - Adjust as desired. 9. HMD reticle - Align with BRU. 10. PLRT B/S switch - B/S and release. B/S NOW button (aircraft equipped with MTADS provisions) - Select. The fact that you have to manually alter the camera view, despite being naturally positioned and center initially, in order to get the results you want is just further proof that something is jacked up here lol
  5. Another user, Maggit, had word-for-word the same problem as me but didn't get much help in his OP a couple years ago, so I am just going to copy-pasta it here because I am having the same issue: "I have programmed the foldable trigger so that it activates one button when folded up and different buttons on the way down when pressing. I use it mostly for Master Arm switches. But sometimes when I start up the computer this trigger has lost all of this programming and only one button, when pressing down, works. I have done other programming on the stick aswell, with the ministicks etc, but none of that is affected, only the foldable trigger. I have updated the firmware/Black box but no change... Does anyone have an explanation?"
  6. What is right/wrong and what is currently working in VR for a lot of folks are two different things. I agree with what the right way should be, but that right way is confirmed to not be working for a lot of folks in VR right meow, whereas the wrong way is absolutely working. I'm looking forward to an update from the team at some point just so this thread can get put to rest lol
  7. I'm also right handed and left eye dominant. Have you tried using left eye render with the IHADSS? That's what I've been using and I've found it to be pretty comfortable.
  8. Works fine here mate, installed both 2.3.7 and. 8 without issues
  9. Sure, but rounds were also way off to either direction with targets straight ahead, despite a crosshair on target. And then on-target when boresighted the "wrong way". Again, could just be a VR-specific 1-eye render bug at the moment but I can only go off the results and for now I'd rather be able to hit targets lol Edit: To be clear, I agree with you regarding how it should probably work and when I first attempted to boresight the IHADSS, I also thought it should be "straight down the barrel"...but then I couldn't hit a damn thing until changing the procedure. It doesn't make sense that doing it the wrong way = accurate fire unless something is borked.
  10. Yeah, I am in no way discounting the possibility that this isn't just a bug at the moment because I can see both sides of the argument as being plausible. All I know at the moment is that I tried a few times to boresight with everything concentric and could not hit ANYTHING with the cannon. When I boresight as you stated (and I stated above) the accuracy is perfect. Yeah, I'm familiar with boresighting as a concept. It could definitely be a bug, but at the moment a concentric boresighting = rounds way off and a "look at the BRU" boresighting is very accurate rounds on target. This is also in VR with one-eye render, I don't know if it is working as intended in 2D or with a 2-eye render.
  11. He is talking about trying to get everything perfectly concentric and lined up when boresighting the IHADSS, not weapons deployment.
  12. SSA beta - OneDrive (live.com)
  13. I guess I'm just wondering why I can do it without getting concentric circles and the aiming is spot-on. I've been digging through this manual at https://info.publicintelligence.net/USArmy-ApacheLongbow.pdf on page 4-74 and all it says for the boresighting procedure is: 6. WPN page - BORESIGHT button - Select. 7. IHADSS button - Select. 8. PRI INT LT knob - Adjust as desired. 9. HMD reticle - Align with BRU. 10. PLRT B/S switch - B/S and release. B/S NOW button (aircraft equipped with MTADS provisions) - Select. Wouldn't it specify needing concentric circles if that was vital? Seems to me it just implies you need to have your IHADDS reticule pointing at the boresight unit and that is that. Additionally, in order to get concentric circles, I have to like slink way down in my seat, and this is with proper height alignment (as far as I can tell). That doesn't make much sense to me that a pilot would need to slouch way down just to get concentric circles and then sit back up. Especially since boresighting can be done in-flight as well.
  14. This is not necessary. As Bri01 mentioned above, just look at the boresight reticule from your natural seated position, center your IHADDS reticule in the middle of the boresight without being concerned if all the circles are concentric. I have done this multiple times and my aim is accurate when slewing the cannon around every time. I only fly in VR as well. I think this sums it up pretty well and I have had 100% success using this exact method in VR.
  15. I've seen this mentioned here and there, but most posts seem to be several years old at this point. Is there any confirmed and recent benefit to doing an alt-enter of DCS, to go full screen, after you have all your 3rd party programs loaded and are ready to fly? More performance related, rather than folks that have issues with the mouse going off screen.
  16. Unless I am missing something, I haven't seen any real performance difference this go-around without using shaders and, unless something changes, I am happy to keep the shaders stock. Like you said, they seem to break more than anything every patch and lose dev support from time to time. I still follow Speed's guide in terms of other mods and settings (I see you have a comparable system). For example, I think the last thing he mentioned was using Reshade 5.2 and VRToolkit, both of which I am currently utilizing as well.
  17. Is it just a matter of replacing the existing scripts folder with the one in this zip file?
  18. I'm convinced to try it and put a pre-order in
  19. It doesn't feel weird not having the "feel" of pushing a button in the cockpit anymore? I'm trying to imagine how going from MFDs and button boxes to using this would work. Honestly, I would mostly use it for the Apache and maybe some random modules, since my current setup is really accurate for the Hornet in terms of MFDs and button boxes.
  20. Ah ok, I didn't realize that toolkit was incorporated into Reshade so it can be a "one stop shop". Thanks
  21. Could you clarify this? I want to try VRTK + Reshade 5.0 after the next update hits (hopefully today, looking at you Apache...) and just want to make sure I install everything correctly. Would it be: 1. Install Kegets Clear Water Shaders 2. Install Reshade 5.0 3. Install VRTK, change .dll name Or would it be another order?
  22. Hey Speed, to clarify - you bumped the G2 up from 80% to 100% in SteamVR? Is this not killing your performance strictly because of the VRtoolkit? Also, have you updated your best settings page (or plan to) with additions of this Reshader thing? We have similar specs and I have my DCS mirroring you, so I will likely add the Reshade as well if you are going to stick with it
  23. Ok good to know that it is fine for DCS multiplayer - I'm not sure why "the other sim" looks at it as something more invasive than just swapping out the openvr.dll with openfsr Oh well, DCS needs WAY more VR love than IL2 anyway, in terms of performance, so no biggie
  24. Just FYI: the Toolkit is great, but if you play IL2, for example, it is considered a graphics mod and you will lose access to a lot of the multiplayer servers. I'm not sure if that is also the case for DCS multiplayer, since I just play on my dedicated server.
