Final release date prediction
Mike Force Team replied to _BringTheReign_'s topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
The mission creep issue causes us frustration. While we enjoy the excitement of a new featurette showcasing the phantom, the feelings of frustration return once the video ends. While we read general information saying release Q1 2024, that is all we know. A better way to manage experiences and expectations is to give more specific release dates. -
Hello, Heatblur, I have read the promotional information and watched the riveting F-4 videos, that touch on wear-and-tear. I know the Heatblur spent approximately three years focusing on highly detailed systems that interact with each other and simulate the effects of use. I saw the brief description that shows the sticky altimeter gauge, which was well presented. I am saying that Heatblur is making the Phantom as realistic as possible. In turn, this inspired me to ask the questions below. Will the Phantom show external damage from SAM or AAA hits that damage the airframe? I am asking if the modeling will show AAA exploding shell pitting or marring and if it will it reveal any SAM warhead damage. Will the phantom show fluid leaks? I am asking if the F-4 will show hydraulic leaks or jet fuel dripping off the jet when it is overfilled with fuel. Does the F-4 have realistic damage that results from bird collisions? I am asking if the F-4's modeling is likely to show shattered windshields, damaged radar housings, or blood smears from birds that hit the jet. Does the Phantom show the effects of extreme cold temperatures on airplane performance? For some upcoming maps that include extreme cold, the freezing weather can affect the older jet's startup, flight systems, and other components. Mike Force Team

Hello, Heatblur, Will the F-4 model Pilot Induced Oscillation Damage? I know that bent landing gear might appear after a pilot makes a hard landing due to PIO. Will the jet's airframe represent damage like bent sheet metal, damaged/destroyed radar nose cones, or damaged windshields? Mike Force Team

Phantom -- Anti-Ship Missions
Mike Force Team replied to Mike Force Team's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
Hello to everyone, Thank you for the responses. I understand the F-4 was not intended to do anti-ship missions. Instead, one has to use the Maverick or the dumb bombs to sink the enemy ships. Mike Force Team -
Phantom -- Anti-Ship Missions
Mike Force Team replied to Mike Force Team's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
@Kalasnkova74Thank you for your response. Hopefully the Heatblur Phantom will allow us to carry Mavericks. It would be great if the F-4 could carry the Harpoon ASM. Mike Force Team -
Hello, Heatblur, Will there be any updates to the Phantom to allow its use for anti-ship missions? When I find online information, I see information that discusses conflicts going from the Vietnam War until the first Persian Gulf War involving the F-4s and assorted MIGs. Yet, I do not find any online information that elaborates on dedicated anti-ship missions. Mike Force Team

Announcing the F-4 Phantom for DCS World!
Mike Force Team replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
Based on the WIP screenshots, I believe we might experience the love for the Phantom on Valentine's day. My opinion, of course. -
Announcing the F-4 Phantom for DCS World!
Mike Force Team replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
@Bravo020 Yes, there is the small chances a bug might appear in the software. Yet, I perceive ED and Heatblur have tested the F-4 extensively and exhaustively by their employees and beta testers. Mike Force Team -
Announcing the F-4 Phantom for DCS World!

Maybe we might feel the love for the Phantom on February 14, 2024. Mike Force Team -
Hello, DCS, I have a suggestion. Can we add a railways map for the United Arab Emirates? Mike Force Team UAE Railroad Map -- on Feb. 3 2024.docx

When the Mig-17 and F-4 are finally available, we will have many memorable experiences. Mike Force Team

@Brigantine Hello from Mike Force Team to you. Once the F-4 is released in Early Access, I believe more squadrons will have F-4 squadrons. Right now, I am not aware of any squadrons or air wings that are announcing their intentions to host the F-4, but is likely to change soon. Mike Force Team

@bonesvf103 I am certain that Heatblur will update their manual. I saw some pages were blank. Heatblur is likely releasing the information in segments to whet our appetites for the pending release of The Phantom. Mike Force Team.

Based on the two videos recently released, the developers are focusing on making the pilots as lifelike as possible. When I see they focus on small details like pilots who blink, I believe they devoted time and resources in other parts not publicized. I know the naval F-4 will be available at a future. In my opinion, they are using a human center designed approach. Mike Force Team

@ExorcetIt is nor clear if the Kola Map will have wildlife like penguins or killer whales. On the other hand, those animals are more likely found in Antarctica. Mike Force Team
-
@Reflected You might consider using an external cooling for your setup. I use one for my setup and it helps regulate the temperature. Mike Force Team
-
@razo+rThe map allows planners and creators for missions and campaigns in polar regions. It something for people to consider. Mike Force Team
-
Can we have a map of Antarctica in DCS World? So far, we do not have a map (yet) that encompasses the polar regions. The polar region is a grand ice box for use as a virtual sandbox. People can place airfields, buildings, fixed wing, and rotary wherever in Antarctica. It would be great if the extreme cold effects on aircraft would be modeled in this environment. For virtual animals, we have cows that can munch on ice and snow. If an airfield or base is next to an ocean, then we might see polar bears, killer whales, or some other virtual marine life. To add more variety, we can add the assorted World War II aircraft. Mike Force Team Antarctica map--on Jan. 25 2024.docx

@draconusI know the resolution of some maps is not the best. I look for high resolution maps and use them when i find them. ED is going through a type of news drought. They give us tidbits of news but few and far between. The RR maps hopefully will be implemented on the maps. As a minimum, I know ED reads the forum posts. Mike Force Team

Aside from acknowledgement that the Afghanistan map will happen, there is no clarification what the map will or will not have. Adding the RR information adds value and enjoyment. Nobody else has suggested adding RR information besides me. Mike Force Team
-
Hello, DCS, We are happy that the Afghanistan Map is in development. I have a suggestion. How about adding railways? The attachments show railways in Afghanistan. Mike Force Team Afghan Railway Maps--Downloaded on Jan. 23 2024.docx

Hello DCS and Developers for the Korean Map, I have a suggestion. Let's add modern railways to the map. Mike Force Team South Korean Railways Map--Downloaded on Jan. 23 2024.docx

Hello DCS (and hopefully the developers for the Vietnam Map), Going with the understanding that a Vietnam map is in the works, I have a suggestion. Let's add railroads to the map. Attached, you find the modern railways for Vietnam for 2024. Mike Force Team Railway Map of Vietnam--on Jan. 23 2024.docx
