  1. This mission is vicious! Tons of fun some really challenging popup attacks. We've really been enjoying it. Thanks!
  2. The frequency the JTAC is on is set by the mission designer. Hopefully they'll have listed it in the briefing! If not, you can go into the mission editor and view the mission and figure it out from there.
  3. Dear Apple, Authorize this app already. Grr.
  4. Welcome to DCS A-10C! :)
  5. Yeah, 50% off the first order. I'll have to think about this. heh
  6. Seems like a great deal and 50% off color printing might be great, but the manual isn't finished yet. :)
  7. You guys will love it. :)
  8. This guy can update that stuff I bet. :)
  9. What red x? In the video you mentioned a diagram as well, but I didn't see any pictures or diagrams and the video didn't have any annotations.
  10. I had to turn it all the way up to hear you. A few comments: For tutorials you should prepare what you're going to say before recording. It cuts down on the ums and lost trains of thought and helps the viewer focus on the steps of the process. Try to avoid extraneous actions. For example mute your wingmen (or design a demo mission without any) before recording as that step isn't part of the process to drop a Mk82. The X in the middle of the CCIP reticule doesn't mean your bombs will drop there, the dot in the middle of the pipper does. The X means you're below the set Minimum Range altitude. :) Push your microphone away from your mouth a bit more. There was a lot of blowback static from it being too close to your month. You might have placed the targets on the target runway to make them easier to see. I knew to look at your SPI for the targets, but it wasn't really clear where they were. If they were in the open on a tarmac it would be easier to spot and follow the actions. Perhaps even go into some detail about how to find a target in the first place? The flight plan changes you were talking about is a bit confusing. You probably should be attacking a SPI and not just a waypoint though so changing the flight plan is an extra step that could be removed from this demo. You kept saying three or four hundred for the attack altitude, but I think you meant three or four thousand? Really should be higher to give you time to find the target and egress without getting too close. Showing how to set ripple pairs and why you'd want to would be a good intro to the video. Perhaps even start in Active Pause while you set that up. You might want to include some information about the differences between Manual Release (this video) and the 3/9 and 5 mil Consent To Release methods of CCIP bombing as well. Editing the video might be nice too rather than one long take. This way you can ensure you have good footage of each step of the process and if you miss a step and go back and reshoot and edit it in before upload. This also gives you time to fully explain each step and UI the viewer should be following. You can end the video with a real time walkthrough of everything they learned so they can see it all at once after seeing each step.
  11. It means that quite sadly, this will not be the next DCS plane:
  12. Why are people taking off from a ramp start without fully aligning and bringing up all their systems? :)
  13. This was answered over on SimHQ so for completenesssake (a word!) I'll copy the solution here:
  14. I'll let the Gaming Nexus review convince you: From http://www.gamingnexus.com/Article/DCS-A-10C/Item3139.aspx As a Warthog owner I can tell you that the step from the Saitek X52 to the Warthog (even without pedals at the time) was amazing. I become 10x the pilot with the new HOTAS system. Flying was more precise, I had far more control over the plane, weapons employment become a breeze. Yes it's super expensive, but for flying the A-10C it's simply the best solution there is. Dok's three points are spot on however. But really, #3 trumps them all. :)
  15. I just recently bought the Saitek Flight Pro pedals and love them. Setup was pretty quick and they work great. Like cichlidfan though I've only had them a few weeks but so far so good. :) I would have loved to get the Simped ones, but cost and availability were too much for me. I'd also have preferred the Saitek Combat ones, but the cost was just too much at the time. Though, if these current ones break, I'll probably get those coz I'm stupid and waste money. :)
  16. Here's my curves for the Saitek Flight Pro Pedals. For really sharp 90 degree turns I have to really push the pedals, but slight adjustments feel just right to me.
  17. Man, you're gonna cost me $400 for those things. :( Is it really $400 worth of button clicking goodness? I've got the MFCD's off to the side of my monitor right now, and i often use snapviews to "zoom in" on the screens (24" monitor) so I'm thinking I might stick with what I got so far. heh Desk is far too messy to show my current setup (TM Warthog) but here's my old setup, heh:
  18. I have the Saitek Flight Pro pedals and needed a pretty drastic curve to get them to work well for me. When I get home I'll take a screenshot of it.
  19. Great :) You'll love it!
  20. ~$100-120 for the 1.1.0.10 version on DVD with a spiral bound color manual, something like a Air Threat visual quick reference guide, tactical map of the area, A-10C die-cast model and a GAU-8 shell casing in a nice sturdy box would be an instant buy from me. :)
  21. Does seem a little loud, but drones out quickly in game. However in videos it's apparently and overwhelmingly loud. Kinda wish it wasn't so loud so I could leave my cockpit open more. :) As it is now I have to close it almost immediately. Also wish the ladder was down by default at Ramp Start.
  22. Wow great document! I've always used the "Well, can't be helped! Going down!" approach to SAMs, but no longer!
  23. All the DCS Encyclopedia stuff is included with the free iWarthog App for the iPhone/iPod/iPad, if you have access to one of those devices. The Encyclopedia is not quite as useful as the chart above because for example to look up the SA-8 you'd have to already know it's the "Osa 9A33 In" which is what it's listed as in the list.
  24. This has some great information in it: http://files.lockon.ru/en/86362/ Here's a sample of it's RWR Threat guide:
