To be honest I never calibrated or configured anything with my WH and it works perfect. No TARGET profile, no calibrations, no special mapping. Just all defaults. As for the having to "restart" the slew, that happens all the time for me though. :) Happened with all three joy sticks I have used as well so I've always assumed it was part of the sim. heh For any "long distance" slewing I'll usually try to set a mark or SPI where I want something then slew via china hat to that spot. Also as far as the TGP is considered zoom out and look farther away for the slewing to be smoother. TAD hasn't ever really had slew issues for me though.

The editor is great for that. Just put down a plane, start from Ramp and keep starting it up. :)

Yeah, my friend was showing me iBook and Kindle on his iPad and telling me how it can read PDFs and I was all excited to be able to flip through the manual like that. How disappointing to see PDFs rendered in those programs. :(

For missions you are creating yourself you can use Prepare Mission to set all that kind of cockpit stuff up ahead of time, right?

How when you input an OFFSET say from BULLSEYE it's adding in the magnetic variance so your locations are all off by whatever that happens to be at the moment. So say you get a call for BULLS 048 for 50 and you put in 04850 but it ends up giving you a location at 04250 instead due to a 6 degree magnetic shift. There was a post about it, I'll try to find it. :) I just learned about this and with this bug it's making learning it difficult heh Here's a good description of it: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=79163 ED reported part of the problem fixed for 1.1.0.9 but it seems the issue is still present.

I actually have my own startup checklist I use, but I love how the checklist works in the app. The main things I use the iWarthog for are the interactive 9-Line page, the emergency procedures lists, and airport pages. Having a one page Mission Data Card would be really useful, maybe make it swipeable to the 9 Line page. Just so there's a one page, everything visible page for all the mission data like coords, freqs and callsigns and the like. There's a few changed airport names as well (like Kopitanari is Kutaisi now or something) that I'll start writing down as I come across them. :)

I'd be happy with a CDU OFFSET hotfix. :)

Tried this last night, had a lot of fun. I was on Tusk flight and we pretty quickly took out the Strela and Shilka at the stadium. My wingman ended up getting one Ka-50 with a sidewinder, but since he'd never used them before I ended up getting the other with a GBU-12, aww yeah. Nothing like LGB'ing a flying (well, OK, hovering..) target! Pig flight ran into a much more trouble though. Some SAM launches on their side and a lot of accurate AAA fire. Both their planes ended up going down and I retasked to take out their targets. We never got any information about UZI/VIKING moving into the compound though. I saw their helos hovering nearby, but not entirely sure they ever went in. Also the vehicles trying to sneak through Gap X were stopped on a road near the edge of town and were easy pickings. Since I was out of weapons and almost out of fuel at that point and the only plane still up I headed back to base. The unfortunate thing was Kutaisi airfield has crap for runway lighting and I forgot how to adjust NVGs so wasn't using them due to glare from the HUD and I may have slammed into the ground on landing and exploded in a glorious fireball that finally properly lit up the runway.

Also remember that the performance of your plane will vary drastically depending on your load. So you might pull X amount back while empty and have it work just great, but 100% fuel and a full ordnance load and try the same thing and you'll stall out and wobble all over the place.

I've taken to only selecting weapons via the Profile page or the HUD/DMS button because of this. :)

You need to wait for the entire alignment time. Set your right MFCD to CDU repeater and wait till the T = line reads: After that engage EGI button behind your stick. That will allow your EAC to activate. Your bombs will also be aligned if you wait the full four minutes for your Nav system to align.

As for the wind, I had a really cool experience the other night. I was trying, quite unsuccessfully, to mid-air refuel and every time I opened my speed breaks just a little bit you could subtly hear the added wind resistance. Way cool. :) It's little things like that which really make this sim great.

You're an expert Black Shark pilot now? You can persecute targets without thinking, start from ramp at night, blindfolded, by touch alone, you can ? I'm sure there's plenty still left for you to do in LockOn and BlackShark and certainly in A-10C for years to come if you really tried at it. :smilewink:

So jealous! Finding targets is always a pain for me. :) TMS Up short (LCtrl-Up) once to switch from AREA to POINT. A box should appear on the crosshairs on the TGP on your target and probably "attach" to the target as well. Then TMS Up Long (Hold LCtrl-UP for a second) to set that as your SPI. Then switch to MAV and China Forward Long (Hold V for a second) to slew the Mav over to your SPI (the target you have in your TGP). Then once the Mav is in range use TMS Up Short to track (Lctrl-Up) and the crosshair gate of the Mav should close and Weapons Release to fire it.

Ahh, those are both from early beta, so that might be why the colors are different.

Probably more of a case of video editing or quality of the recording. You can change the fade of the lights though and in some cases it might be more blue than green. Got any links for these videos we could see?

Management sounds selfish. Keeping that kind of information to yourself is what's wrong with gaming communities. Share that stuff for the benefit of everyone, especially in a small niche like flight sims, otherwise you certainly come off as a jerk.

Can the A-10 fly fast enough to make that possible?
