  1. Fixed. :) And yeah, you'll probably get the manual PDF on the disk, like you do with the download, and not printed. Here's hoping they have a nice printed version, but it's doubtful.
  2. There's already a post for updates from Wags: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=71156
  3. Is that really realistic? I don't mean the circle but how small a valid field of view you have with them and all the extra non NV stuff on the sides? That seems like such a narrow view I wouldn't even bother with it and just wait till morning to fly. It's like looking through a straw held in front of your face with both eyes open.
  4. Yeah, it's disappointing. The only things I get credit for is dying testing stuff in the editor. :( So my log book looks horrible.
  5. Windows 7 is so much better than XP this shouldn't even be a question. :)
  6. The picture was taken at 6:35, so some people would think that clearly the next DCS module will be the F-35! However... If you take 6:35 and 10/1/2011 and do some simple math you get 6.35 / 10 / 1 / 2011 which equals 0.0081.... a sure sign that the F-18 will be the next module!
  7. Got another email this morning about it, saying it's been pushed back to upwards of Nov 18th. Maybe it was the 8th. Didn't pay much attention since I don't really need it. ;)
  8. Welcome back mangaroca! I always loved your avatar. ;) Personally I find the GBUs and LGBs much easier to use them CCIP weapons, also safer!
  9. Is it wrong that I'm aroused by that picture?
  10. To change coordinates you open Options then MISC then there's a drop down at the bottom for MRGS, LAT/LONG or LAT/LONG DECIMAL. The thing to remember is that the coords are where the mouse cursor is. So if you place an icon and move the mouse out of the way you're marking the spot off the target. Also LAT/LONG is hugely imprecise! It'll say the same coord for the full icon's size all the way zoomed in, a noticeable amount of movement from the mouse won't change the values, but when you do the math the point will be well off. So best to change to MRGS or Decimal and use the mouse to mark the spot (just hover over it) and use that number.
  11. Oh, indeed! More missions in general would be great. heh
  12. We finished this mission last night for the first time. Really cool. Some of the things I really enjoyed about it were having to learn to use terrain while flying. You had to use the valleys to line up approaches and couldn't fly too high or else you'd hit the clouds. Also the reliance on visual PID and having to use your wingmen to pinpoint targets was really enjoyable. Towards the end one of the AA units had driven into the woods so the TGP was basically useless in trying to find it, so we had to keep alternating where one pilot would run in low to draw fire while his wingman kept watch to try to find where the tracers were coming from. A lot of really great teamwork. I also enjoyed how the waypoints were zones instead of just there already. This allowed us to finish waypoint 1, then return and refuel (and have some friends join us) without the mission completing on it's own or anything. Thanks again for a great mission and looking forward to more!
  13. Just tested it too, set a waypoint to the middle of the "X" runway. Then noted down that GG 32295 36011 (seen at the bottom of the Mission Editor) was where I'd placed a truck just near the middle of the X. In game I typed that into the CDU, set the SPI to that waypoint and when I flew over dropped the JDAM. Never TGP'd it or anything. The bomb went right through the truck. :) Not sure if you can get JTAC to give you that accurate of a mark though, but you can certainly predesignate targets via either writing down the coords or creating a waypoint at the location.
  14. Sure you can. Give a 10 digit coordinate as a waypoint. The pilot selects the waypoint, sets it as SPI, and drops the JDAM. Boom.
  15. The other thing to remember is that current day loadouts have no application to the fictional encounters you'll have in DCS. It's setup as a 'hordes of armor' style battle instead of 'infantry in a tree line' type battle. The country side in A-stan isn't covered in SAMs and we're not being tasked with blowing up a bridge before an armored column gets to it anymore. So take current loadouts with a grain of salt compared to in game concerns.
  16. No, but you'll clearly see it hit the ship's superstructure, disappear and a small white water splash happens center of the ship at the waterline. Hitting it in the bow results in the same thing. Drop a JDAM on it though, anywhere and explosions galore. Even Mav Ds from four separate planes didn't result in any explosion, just four splashes.
  17. Thanks for your support of Thrustmaster and ED and happy flying!
  18. We saw the same behavior the other night. Mavs would simply splash on the water's surface no matter which part of the ship you hit. The only thing that seemed to do damage was JDAMs.
  19. You can do that in ArmA2 already, a far better infantry milsim than the console shooter game of BF3.
  20. I use TrackIR 4 with the 5 software (which is free). If you're just getting into it I highly suggest TrackIR 5 with the Pro Clip, go big! :) If you want to start cheaper 4 with Pro Clip would be a good start, but try for the 5 if at all possible. It's not required to use TrackIR, but it'll totally change the experience for you.
  21. Georgian Hammer Campaign: 3rd Party Campaigns available from here. The Shore campaign: Devil's Cross Campaign:
  22. 1. Ya know, never even tried. Don't think so though. You can auto-start, but the main startup only takes 5 minutes or so. 2. Nope, all scripted. To be honest I've enjoyed multiplayer the most though. Something wonderful about having a friend call out a target and share it on your TAD then you fly in an take it out.
  23. This x1000! Allow us to climb out using the ladder and optionally start outside and do a walk around. Maybe even control ground crew from outside the cockpit. Such immersion. :)
  24. Welcome to DCS gunslinger!
  25. Fixed that for ya! :P
