    When combined with a Slugmouse, it's great. Native DCS handcontrol is, meh. Fingers crumpled, flicking switches takes many attempts. It's just frustrating. That's why it's best to use HTCC (it's free) to control just the mouse cursor and a Slugmouse to perform mouse clicks. The Slugmouse is worn on each index finger. It's wireless and tactile, so there is no more fumbling around for the mouse, and you can reach the controls towards the rear of the cockpit without pulling a muscle. Currently, they are on a Christmas sale: 25% off / £100 a pair, including a Slugcase, plus shipping and packing. They ship in a week or less. Oh, and I use a Quest Pro. I'd not hesitate to buy a Quest 3. Full details here:

    What's the PD setting in DCS? If it's above 1.0 with Godlike on your i5/4080 you are probably pushing beyond its capabilities. I would leave it at 1.0. Also, try a step down from Godlike. You may be aiming too high with an i5-12600k / RTX4080. It's always worth trying the VR preset in DCS to make sure you're not overloading the CPU and then building up from there until problems begin.

    Give OBS Studio a try. If you have a second PC, you can also stream the recording to that, which will save some performance for your DCS machine.

    It sounds like your latency is high. What bit rate is the encoder set to? If set too high in Virtual Desktop, I would have similar problems. Dial it back to default and see how it goes.

    140% render resolution with Godlike is too high to maintain 72fps even with a high-spec machine. You're not achieving it over the sea. So unless you are happy with the stuttering caused by not achieving the frame rate of your headset, I would dial down the PD. It's a compromise of framerate vs visual clarity. I run a PD of 1.1 with Godlike ona 4090 and i13900k @ 5.5GHz. I have ASW/Spacewarp set to auto, which activates only when my system cannot maintain 72fps. What do you have the "improved spotting dots" set to in settings > gameplay? Have you tried both settings?

    Perhaps it is best to raise this in the VR bugs section with the logs for the DCS developers to review.

    Or maybe it can't find a file. Have you tried uninstalling OXRTK and then running DCS without it installed? Do you have any other OpenXR layers installed?

    Hmm Ok. I'm not sure what the problem is. In the cases where it fails, the log has this: 2024-11-25 12:34:00.453 ERROR VISUALIZER (Main): OpenXR failure XrResult failure [XR_ERROR_FILE_ACCESS_ERROR] Something may require a higher access permission to access or run something. Have you tried running DCS with admin rights? Is your user account an admin or a standard user account?

    Also, check how much VRAM is being used. If it's at or near the amount of VRAM in your card, you may want to turn down some settings to prevent graphics objects in memory from swapping in and out.

    By chance, the cable of my HP Reverb died a year ago or so, and while I was waiting for a replacement, I bought a Quest Pro. The cable eventually arrived, and both it and the Reverb have lived in a cupboard and never seen the light of day since. If anyone wants the headset and cable... make me an offer via PM - UK only.
