Also, check how much VRAM is being used. If it's at or near the amount of VRAM in your card, you may want to turn down some settings to prevent graphics objects in memory from swapping in and out.

By chance, the cable of my HP Reverb died a year ago or so, and while I was waiting for a replacement, I bought a Quest Pro. The cable eventually arrived, and both it and the Reverb have lived in a cupboard and never seen the light of day since. If anyone wants the headset and cable... make me an offer via PM - UK only.

Is there any way to enhance vision of aerial targets while using VR?

Quest Pro, VD. Godlike. PD might be 1.1 - I’d have to check. -
Also check your cooling. Use HWINFO64 to chell to see if your processor is being temperature or power throttled whilst running DCS.

Post your dcs log with and without openXR toolkit. Check your cpu and ram speed using the task manager. If you are using bios or intel defaults, your performance is likely being capped. Some recent bios updates have forced intel defaults. Running ram at stock and not xmp speed will also reduce performance significantly.

Fixed foveated rendering is a feature of the OpenXR Toolkit, not a DCS feature. If you want fixed foveated rendering, you need the OpenXR Toolkit. An alternative is Quad Views Foveated Rendering, a similar tool by the same developer of the OpenXR Toolkit.

Set it to adaptive and it will drop to half your frame rate when it can’t maintain the frame rate. -

Hmm. I don’t think turbo mode completely breaks AWS. Have you tried with it on? I have it on and it switches into AWS when necessary. -

I missed the part about dogfight as it was at the end under the photos. I can’t say that I’ve had a problem whilst dogfighting. I had a quick test with the new spotting dots and found them to be more realistic in that they’re not huge blobs anymore. I was still just about to make out the “dot” even without a TD box around it. -

I think your settings are about right for your hardware. If you want to get more, consider foveated rendering (periphery of vision rendered with lower resolution), which is a bit of a downer for the Quest 3 with its edge-to-edge clarity or drop your render resolution to 1.1 or 1.0. I know you don't want to do that, but it's really the only way to get more performance by trading visual quality for frame time. Your only other option is to upgrade to a 4090 and a newer-gen CPU. Of course, you need a new motherboard to go with that and maybe new RAM, too. On the other hand, what motherboard are you running? Does it support PCIe 4.0, and if so, have you set it to that? If not, you're not getting the full memory bandwidth/speed that a 40 series video card can do. Also, is your memory speed set to XMP in the bios? Not setting to XMP can make a big difference. I would also enable ASW. It will only drop into it when needed. Without it, the whole image will be a judder fest when your machine can't keep up with the frame time. Yes, you will see some ghosting of fast-moving aircraft; it's a trade-off. -

Use your TGP. As far as I know, even RLP use it to identify aircraft visually. -

Better Smoke V22 for DCS 2.9
slughead replied to Taz1004's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
That probably won't "fix" it. It will just stop DCS from crashing. If you want it to have any effect, the mod still needs to be fixed. It's now available. I just updated. -

I honestly can’t remember. It’s been that long since I used it. There’s a discord channel for open composite. Maybe worth looking there or on the project’s GitHub page.

Stop using OpenComposite will fix it. It hasn't been required for a year or more.
