  1. And that's an interesting mix, early 2000s but with legacy systems. All air forces weren't new and shiny at the time, so that would be nice to play a semi-underdog in this mixed Fox1 vs Fox3 era ! Might feel at home with F14s in their last years, Mirage 2000Cs, MiG29s,...
  2. Regarding the F15s in DCS, you have two models : an F15C from Eagle Dynamics which is of the "FC3" type, meaning it's a simplified simulation on avionics, with no clickable cockpit and every controls bindable to keys or your stick, so it could be an easy entry into DCS (with all your real-life experience, you may actually have to "adjust" to videogame simulation logic and how it differs from real life or millitary-grade simulators). There is also a F15E Strike Eagle, which though very much simulated in detail, is made by Razbam, a (very good) module maker who unfortunately happened to be caught in a commercial dispute with Eagle Dynamics (editors of DCS), so the future of this module is in question. But if you start with the F4E, you might feel very much at home and enjoy it a lot !
  3. DCS is already barely playable online on 16GB of RAM, do you really want to up the minimum specs to 64 and a RTX ?
  4. Also, good to remember there was a whole arc of the Afghanistan conflict between 1996 and 2001. How to figure each of the factions, Talibans and Northen Alliance ?
  5. Not necessarily, but even small updates can bring bugs in existing missions if care is not taken. A single more switch to flip, or a changed timing, can brick a script.
  6. The Viggen is probably the most "different" experience you can get in DCS fixed wings. And is also a great history lesson on Swedish doctrine during the Cold War*. From take-off to landing, there's basically nothing you would do "the same as in any other NATO/REDFOR aircraft", everything has quirks and that unique outlook. I think this is a must-have for variety in any DCS library. *my profile picture is from a Swedish civil defense guide that used to be printed in the phonebooks, shows how much Sweden took a potential WWIII seriously.
  7. This is game-changing for MP, makes the F1 much more viable in dynamic servers.
  8. "One careful lady owner, excellent exterior condition age considered, must see"
  9. Yes, wiring issues and also the need for coolant in the case of the IR 530.
  10. I often take two Sparrows just in case even with AMRAAMs and Sidewinders, I might need the FLOOD mode or taking a shot without having to worry about it going pitbull on a friendly.
  11. These are two models of the Su25, with different handling caracteristics, as well as different weapons. The one that is free is the Su25T, the second generation of the Su25, from the late 1990s, dedicated to anti-tank warfare. It has TV guided missiles. It mostly flies like a brick due to all the added weight (it is noticeably more bulky, as it is based on the 2-seats UB variant with the space for the second seat replaced by more fuel and avionics). It is mostly designed to fire laser-guided rockets/bombs, and TV-guided missiles from standoff range against tanks. The one you can buy either solo or as part of Flamming Cliffs 3 is the "original" Su25A, from the early 1980. It is much more agile, much lighter, but lacks a lot of the modern avionics from the Su25T, and can't shoot laser or TV guided missiles. It is mostly a "old school" ground attack aircraft, designed to deliver bombs, unguided rockets and fire canon in close air support. Neither have clickable cockpits, in fact, they are very similar apart from the TV screen. And as for skins, they are not totally interchangeable, since the SU25T has a big "hump" on the back, being based on a two-seats version. Here you can see the difference between a SU25A and a SU25T.
