Mission 1 ATC instructions
Sandman Simulations replied to Razor18's topic in DCS: F/A-18C Operation Mountain Breeze Campaign
Hi, Thank you for your message. Actually, VOR/TACAN radial is always the magnetic heading away from the station and is not dependent on heading you are flying. You can fly the radial towards the station (inbound) or away from the station (outbound). You may fly any heading but radial is still the magnetic heading from the station. If you are flying inbound radial 253, you need to fly magnetic heading 073, wind corrected of course (magnetic track). In this arrival chart fix MEZUS is located on AKR radial 253 48,3 nm DME distance. ATC instructions for DME arc arrival are given with radial and command to fly inbound or outbound. Heading to fly is only used by ATC when under radar control and then wind correction is also made by ATC. Hope you landed safely -
Mission 3 kill credit
Sandman Simulations replied to Clifton19's topic in DCS: F/A-18C Operation Mountain Breeze Campaign
Hi, Thanks for report. Please tell me what happened. If you use tacview mission file would help a lot. -
The carrier seems to spawn normally for me. I suppose you have Super Carrier module installed but are you using any unofficial mods. They can cause weird things to happen like ships not spawning. Here is a topic about it Mission 1, Instant Crash - DCS: F/A-18C Flaming Sunrise Campaign - ED Forums Unfortunately AI flight behavior is what it is and they do accelerations usually with full burners and slow down with speed brake open. It is bit hard to follow lead sometimes but don't take the flight lead's criticism too hard. They are just a bit demanding. There is a topic about AI flight lead thing. Wingman feedback
Sandman Simulations replied to jibfreeekout's topic in DCS: F/A-18C Operation Mountain Breeze Campaign
Hi, Thank you for your feedback. I know exactly what you mean. The same issue occurs when you're approaching a tanker or carrier and trying to stay on the lead's wing. The AI might throttle up towards the tanker with full afterburner and then open the air brakes shortly after. Unfortunately, there's not much that can be done about this. When the AI is performing its assigned task, such as descending or approaching the tanker, it shows little interest in following the given speed commands. As you get used to the flight lead's way of flying, you'll learn to anticipate speed changes, making it a bit easier to stay on the wing. However, no mission will fail just because the flight lead is dissatisfied with your performance. Don't take the flight lead's criticism too hard. You'll hear it a few more times throughout the campaign. Achieving a perfect performance without criticism is tough due to the AI lead's flying style. The aim is more to motivate the player to fly as well as possible. -

Hi, It should become available on Steam too but there can be some delay. I'll check from ED. -
Campaign documentation?
Sandman Simulations replied to LordOrion's topic in DCS: F/A-18C Operation Mountain Breeze Campaign
I got confirmation from ED too. They have the documentation but somehow it's not included in published version. Until they get it out please download the documentation from my message above. -

DCS: F/A-18C Hornet Campaign - Operation Mountain Breeze Official Trailer In the fall of 2015, the battles of the Syrian Civil War between the rebels and the Syrian government forces continue intensely. The involvement of several foreign powers, ISIS, and Hezbollah in the conflicts further escalates tensions. The tension among major superpowers is also on the rise. However, civilians suffer the most. Millions have been forced to leave their destroyed homes. Civilian targets are constantly under bombardment. The USS Theodore Roosevelt, with its Strike Group, is on its way to the region with the aim of establishing a no-fly zone over the western parts of Syria to prevent attacks on civilians. You'll receive detailed mission briefings with charts and kneeboards accessible both in-game and as PDFs. Briefings are presented for pilots in detail by the squadron skipper and flight lead in in-game mission briefings. Performance-based feedback will be provided after each mission. Voice-overs by great actors and narrative elements between missions enhance the immersion, creating a compelling and varied experience. You get to show your skills as a Hornet pilot in diverse missions. Dogfights, close air support, SEAD, and strike missions will put your skills to the test. This is your first cruise, and the Skipper has high expectations for you. Hopefully, you can meet them. Check out a bit longer introduction video about the campaign:

Sandman Simulations replied to stenji's topic in DCS: F-14B Operation Sandworm Campaign
Hi, Thank you for your message. ICLS frequency is marked on kneeboad card but I need to say I haven't tested those for some time. I'll do it today. -

All feedback about bugs and any suggestions to make campaign better are welcome. Thank you for your effort. -
Mission 9: Missing VO?
Sandman Simulations replied to speed-of-heat's topic in DCS: F-14B Operation Sandworm Campaign
Checked this too. I got the text messages and VOs and triggers are ok. There are some known problems with DCS skipping triggers especially with MT and low end computer hardware in situations where there are high performance needs in the mission. With your system specs it's definitely not the hardware but because you missed different VOs when replaying the mission it might be something to do with that problem. Still can't find anything broken with the triggers that I could fix. -
Mission 8: SAR
Sandman Simulations replied to speed-of-heat's topic in DCS: F-14B Operation Sandworm Campaign
I wasn't able to replicate the problem. I tested the mission couple of times and had no problem with the carrier communication. Also frequencies are right. Can't tell what caused that problem for you. -
Mission 9: Missing VO?
Sandman Simulations replied to speed-of-heat's topic in DCS: F-14B Operation Sandworm Campaign
I haven't checked the mission yet but it's quite propable that sound files haven't gone anywhere. VOs are behind the same triggers with the text so if text is shown the trigger must be ok. But I'll take a look if there is something I could do about it. -
