  1. Understood although I would assume that Steam created this variant file when I swapped to the beta. Should Steam or perhaps DCS itself have given the option to delete/change/keep this file when I swapped back? I realise that it will become a moot point shortly in the future but it did cause me some confusion.
  2. OK, it seems the update left a dcs_variant.txt file in the main install folder with 'openbeta' in it. Deletion of this file has solved the problem. Not sure why it was not deleted by Steam though.
  3. As title. From the Steam beta options I chose none and then updated. Only one problem during update as Steam advised the download was corrupt. Deleted Steam download files, updated again and everything went fine. Verified files to make sure. A new folder in Save Games was created called DCS. Now when I run DCS it is still using the Saved Games DCS.openbeta folder. Tested by adding the A-4 mod to see if it loaded up from that folder which it does. Any idea how I get DCS to use the new folder? Is there a config file in the Steam install files that points to the saved games folder that can be amended? Log attached and screenshot showing Steam beta state as none. dcs.log
  4. Just so you are aware the CJS compatible version conflicts with the VSN F/A18D. The cockpit in your mod is completely black (external view) with both installed, the VSN cockpit is also messed up. Have not tested CJS non compatible version. Thought you should know.
  5. As title. Only up and down in the controls. Need binds for 3 position switches. This may come under the known issues 'Missing many key binds' but as I cannot see it mentioned anywhere I thought I would post.
  6. Thanks, Rudel. Would you believe that I had only been trying using Chrome. Swapped to Edge and it downloaded first time (Chrome still says 'no'). Google not quite getting their act together!
  7. Unable to download. This is the message I get: Sorry, you can't view or download this file at this time. Too many users have viewed or downloaded this file recently. Please try accessing the file again later. If the file that you are trying to access is particularly large or is shared with many people, it may take up to 24 hours to be able to view or download the file. If you still can't access a file after 24 hours, contact your domain administrator. Been trying for 5 days. Can it be uploaded somewhere else?
  8. Windows Defender is reporting this when I try to download the mod: Trojan:Script/Wacatac.B!ml I have downloaded it in the past and not had this problem. False negative or a problem?
  9. I am using the VSN A-6A mod so I am not quite sure how relevant this is but thought I should post just in case. The cockpit is present when using non MT open beta and absent when using the MT exe. No changes to anything whatsoever between using MT/non MT and I am using the built in instant mission. Can't fathom why this would be unless there is some file structure reference problem because the DCS.exe is in a different folder?
  10. Thanks, Urbi!! Brilliant. So very much appreciate your time and effort.
  11. OK, thanks, changing the username worked and I now get textures in the viewer. Not sure where I go from here. You say to try to narrow down the error by moving the other .luas but if I move those out of the A29 folder the aircraft doesn't show up in sim (not listed in Mission Editor and if you use the instant action you get an A10 not an A29).
  12. Ok I think you lost me! Yes, the cockpit loads in ModelViewer without textures. Where do you put the autoexec.lua? In C:\Users\xxxx\Saved Games\edModelViewerTrunk folder? Or one of the subfolders? Somewhere else? If I put the autoexec file supplied in C:\Users\xxxx\Saved Games\edModelViewerTrunk still no textures load in the Viewer. Note (if relevant) that If I load the A4 or Bronco mod cockpit in the Viewer the textures do not load but unlike the A29 the aircraft load fine in game. If I load a cockpit in the viewer from an official module such as the F5 then the textures load.
  13. I deleted everything in the Temp folder and got exactly the same CTD. I then tried the ModelViewer. The first time I Loaded the cockpit I got the entries in the txt file attached in the Log View. I then loaded it a second time and the Log View results are also in the txt file. No idea if this is at all helpful. CTD again in game following the ModelViewer loading. A29 ModelViewer.txt
  14. Choose Instant Action, Choose role from menu once loaded and press OK. CTD. DCS Crash notification pops up so there is a log file etc available. That's it. I also went to Mission Editor and placed aircraft on runway at Batumi as Veteran AI. Loaded mission. CTD before entering sim. DCS Crash pop up again present. Using latest Beta.
  15. Yes, CTD if spawned as client or player, with or without other mods, latest download 0.5.1. Instant action missions = CTD. Hope it gets fixed!
  16. OK, it seems it is my fault. I was using a 'Make flyable' mod and using the aircraft as a client/player. If used as AI the animations are fine in sim. Sorry to waste your time. Of course, if anybody knows how to get all 4 props spinning when actually flying these that would be handy! If not then this can be deleted or moved elsewhere.
  17. Any way to get the propeller animations to work? They show like this in sim (beta) and in model viewer. Model viewer shows an error saying that tu-95ms.edm.ilv and tu-142.edm.liv are not found. Is this the problem? In any event a full repair, clean and update does not produce these files.
  18. It doesn't show up because the 'entry.lua' in the mod folder is named 'noentry.lua'. Rename it and all should be good. File in download needs fixing.
