Same with Rogers... I was getting 7kb up to 130 randomly, but mostly 1.2-7kb. Downloaded from ftp/http in under an hour... damn torrents ... I mean damn ISPs.

Is there a way to extract the full map images that the TAD uses at EXP2 level? They are nice detailed contour maps (almost to Infantry level lol). The current maps I've seen floating around are rather large, theatre only. Thanks Tim

Lost 3 activations during a single re-install?
Thorvald replied to Fish's topic in Payment and Activation
Grrr, cause StarForce is crap that is why. I lost another couple of Activations the other day after an in flight crash to desktop. I wish developers would give up punishing us honest users, pirates will break any protection out there if they want to (PS3 come to mind...). Now the real question is, what happens a few years down the road when I want to play again and ED is no longer around or the auth servers are gone? Bricked game right? To this day I can still load up Falcon 3 or 4 and play if I want to... -
What headset you guys use ?
Thorvald replied to Succellus's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Has anyone hooked up the TrackIR Pro clip directly to the G930? (i.e. powered off the G930's batteries). If I pick one up, might be my next project. --- EDIT: Actually after reading the reveiws, I had no idea the G930 was a "sound card in a headset". I had assumed it plugged into the mic and headphone jacks. Now that I've read a few horror stories of game incompatibility and buggy software, I'll likely go with the F450 Wireless Headset. Same as the G930 without the G buttons and software. Comes with a basestation that just plugs into whatever you need (mic and headphone jacks). -
Your kidding me... you mean they actually modelled that? If you destroy the control tower the radio comms specific to that will no longer work? Wow! That would be neat.

Hmm that does look interesting. Great another expensive item that has my attention lol. --- Does anyone make the curved screens yet? I assume they are simply white paper/cloth? Use a couple of short throw projectors and voila. Tim

Time to start another fun rumor... Beta6 is actually delayed until Intel fixes and ships the Sandy Bridge issue... Lol

So does anyone yet make and sell a dome (quarter sphere) in North America? That Frex demo looked awesome, three projectors or even four to get the rear view would be amazing.

Me thinks we need to add Helios to this sim :-)

on eve of a new patch--regarding deactivation
Thorvald replied to mooshim's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Die star force die... Pirates find away around anything, just look at Song PS3 and iPhones... Stop penalizing us honest customers with install and upgrade nightmares. There must be a better way. -
Final Release Export Lua Query
Thorvald replied to hassata's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Oh.... Didn't know that one.... Doesn't bode well does it. Who can we bribe over at ED then? Setup a paypal $5 per donation and he'll be rich in a few hours :-) -

thinking of buying 32" 1080p t.v
Thorvald replied to con3para's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
42" is the way to go! Or larger. The cost of a 42 is around $500 now so no need to go with 32. It's so much better and immersion is amazing. Just buy the cheap LCD version, no need for 120hz or better, 60 is all that the video supports anyways. Next step is 3x42" with TH2GO or Nvidia surround sound! Cheers Tim -
...and there is no huge FPS hit ;-)

Picked them up today, worked PERFECTLY. Nice brushed metal nuts. Now to construct the rest of it!

All of the garden equipment is listed as 5/8 or 1/2, it refers to the hose size not the threads. They have the plastic ones as well so I can duplicate the other stick that was made on here using Gardena connectors. Wish they'd drop that imperial crap and stick to one system.... Grrr lol.
-
I'm going to try these things, they look similar to the M36 ones the other fellow was using and they are metal: http://www.homedepot.ca/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CatalogSearchResultView?D=910969&Ntt=910969&catalogId=10051&langId=-15&storeId=10051&Dx=mode+matchallpartial&Ntx=mode+matchall&recN=112984&N=0&Ntk=P_PartNumber Gardena Premium 5/8 In. Don't forget to read Dick's personal book, "Beyond Band of Brothers". It fills in a lot of the gaps and sets straight many things. Sadly missed and a great Officer. Currahee

Same issue hear, might be related to latest Nvidia driver as I never noticed this before until I upgraded. However happens a lot now. Tim

ANSWER FROM TM REGARDING WT THROTTLE PROBLEM
Thorvald replied to Funkyjazz's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Wow was that translated using Google Bablefish??? lol. -
Yep same issue here. Playing the Instant action Easy Georgia Spring, third set of targets is a couple of Zeus's defending a bridge. The wingman calls out the AAA and then I indicate over the Radio to attack all air defenses, he does nothing... However if you die, then the Wingman kicks ass lol. Weird.

Woah, ED uses Starforce? Good god I hoped that software had died a miserable death ages ago (same issues here, nasty nasty software caused all kinds of headaches in the past). I hope to god A10 doesn't get that crap but if it does, I'll be sure to read up on the drivers etc as I know it can be amazingly fussy. I also have LOMAC and FC1 sitting on the shelf but never installed, glad I found this thread so I can ensure I don't mess it up as well.

Is a touchscreen monitor a good idea?
Thorvald replied to latearrival's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Go for Helios and use the touchscreen(s) for it. Then get a large monitor for the sim itself. Now that I've experienced "Large screen gaming" I'll never go back to the mid twenties PC monitors... and at sub $500 for 42", you can't go wrong. Even though the res on an HDTV is only 1920x1080, it's perfect at 42" and above. As for Helios, have a look at some of the Youtube videos to get an idea, it makes the sim so much more immersive. Cheers Tim
