  1. Hmm, okay, here goes! What's this?
  2. The Rotor/tail reminds me of an old UH1-modification of some sort. AH1 prototype, perhaps?
  3. Does being completely insane and wanting to test the inverted-flight characteristicts under bridges while fully armed and being chased by SAM count as providing something unique to the testing-enviroment? :D
  4. My nomination: Plan 9 from Outer Space. A movie that's so horribly bad that it's actually hilarious to watch.
  5. MVSGas: I know it for a fact that the RNoAF have never sold any of it's F16's (we have too few in the first place :P). However, I do know that at least two of the F104's has found their way to other countries (Rick Svetkoff flies one of them, I think), plus that there were talks of selling some of our old F5's to the Turkish AF. Not sure what happened with that, though, as Norway's export-laws on weaponsystems is extremely restrictive. I'll dig around a bit to see if I can find out if there's other Vipers with the ID-light on them. Pilotasso: Thanks =) Do you know if the Portugese Vipers have the Russian ID?
  6. Whoa! For a second there I though it was real :D Only thing I react on is that the aircraft skin might be wrong :P It's got a Russian ID-light, and (it seems) spanish or portugese markings. Unless I'm wrong, only the RNoAF Vipers have the Russian ID. Still, one of the best digital representations of the F16 visually I've ever seen.
  7. That would be against both the Geneva convention about cruel treatment :D
  8. But if he's banned, he can't post more awesome pics! Can't have that, as I need my daily dose of nice aircraft-pr0n :P
  9. I'm sorry, v1per, but this is the worst drivel I've heard yet this week (and I work at Techsupport, so I hear quite a bit). Russia isn't trying to start anything. They're flexing their military muscles, which is more for the morale of their own forces, their allies and the Russian people than anything else. If they wanted to start something, they sure as hell wouldn't buzz carrier-groups. Somehow I can't say that I see the Russians waiting for the US to attack them first if it came to that. And I can pretty much guarantee you, without knowing Putin or anyone in Russia, that they're not about to start a war with anyone.
  10. I want one! Too bad about the $2500 pricetag, but if I'm ever a single again and have the extra dough for it, I'm ordering one :D Would be awesome to play BS on, even though you don't have yaw on it :pilotfly:
  11. When I'm not working my hands to the bone and/or slamming my head into the keyboard repeatedly after having said the exact same thing to the exact same person for exactly the 2589th time (I work as a Server/network admin and support specialist): Red Orchestra (*S8*-Fjordmonkey = me), Supreme Commander, Oblivion, IL2 Sturmovik etc. Toss in some sleep and some spend-time-with-the-better-half-time (Gotta schmooze some so that I don't get violently killed for buying new computer-parts and also getting the green light for using her card to buy BS when it comes out :D) in between, and you've got how I spend my days up to launch :p
  12. Would be awesome, yeah. Have been flying a lot here in Norway, and some of the turbulence I've experienced makes a rollercoaster seem like a walk in the park. Would be awesome to have this in DCS as well.
  13. Hehe. I doubt the Kuz had any issues with neither the Orion or the Frigate alongside it, since both were in radio communications with the Kuz. The Orion is from RNoAF 333sqd (The Saints, ref the Tailfin on it) out of Andøya AFB. The F311 is actually the new RNoN frigate KNM Roald Amundsen, which followed alongside the Kuz as it traveled past the coast of Finnmark. The date on those pics are from Jan. 31, so they're rather fresh. The Amundsen is on shakedown-tests As far as CAOC3 at Reitan here in Norway has reported, the Kuz and other surface ships in conjunction with underwater and airborne assets have been carrying out an exercise in international waters just off the coast of Norway, which has led to scrambling of the Vipers on RS15 not just a few times. This is all part of the two-month sailing of the Kuz and it's support-ships. The Russians has even requested the use of Norwegian airports as divertion-airfields in case of problems with their aircraft.
  14. My hobbies apart from flightsims is....wel...more computers :P I'm a geek, after all. Can also mention behavioral psychology, 3D/digital art (which I suck at) and basically any- and everything that goes BOOM very loudly.
  15. Hmm, that might work. The only issue is that me and soldering-irons go together like an AIM-9 and an engine in full AB (Highly attracted to eachother, but the result is usually painful). Looking at the BU863, and that might be a better choice than the A-Pac because of more axis. Have rudder-twist on my current Saitek Cyborg Evo, and I can't really see me flying without it. Especially not when Black Sharks comes along.
  16. I'm the lucky(?) owner of a non-upgraded Thrustmaster F16FLCS/TQS-set, and I've been thinking about using it as a basis for turning it into a USB-joystick/throttle combo, with or without rudder (can always map that to a button anyway). And since I'm about as useful in things like this as an fully loaded IL76 is in a dogfight, I thought I'd turn to people smarter than me (yep, that's you I'm talking about :D) The stick/throttle has the following capabilities: Stick: Two axis (Pitch/Roll) 3 one-stage buttons 1 Two-stage button (trigger) 4-way hat switches Throttle: One axis (Throttle) 4-way hat switch two dials (antenna and range), one with button-function. (the dials can be skipped as they're not really that important) two 3 position slider switches. Now then! Teh Challenge™! Finding some way to get this over onto an USB-platform, either through re-using the parts already present, or buying new ones. I've been looking at the Ultimarc website, and looked at the A-Pac v2 and the A-Pac v1. Not sure which one would be more useful, nor if there are better options out there. Any ideas/thoughts about this, or useful hints? Not sure if this will work at all, but hey, we won't know until we try (and quite possibly fail spectacularly) :P
  17. Just wait :P In about 5 years, she'll hit you over the back of your head because of that, in a discussion that is TOTALLY unrelated to that :P That said, I just ordered a new Router/firewall for use at home. I might be pushing up daisies by tonight :P
  18. I'd love to see a new Mi24-sim, or the Mi28/28N which was On-par with DCS:BS in terms of graphics and gameplay. Plus possibly a multiplayer-mode where you could fly all three birds in a Co-op ^^
  19. My better half is cool with my simming/gaming in general, as long as I don't wake her up with loud noises when she sleeps, and gets some attention when she wants it. Which usually is, strangely enough, just when I'm in the middle of a multiplayer-fight and flying for my life :megalol: When it comes to new things, I practice the "Easier to get forgiveness than permission"-policy. What she doesn't know/see doesn't hurt her. And if she notices, I have contingencyplans and/or excuses ready. Plus a coffin and a pre-dug grave, of course :D
  20. XP isn't Obsolete, but that's another debate. This might be a memory-error on your comp. Hop over to http://www.memtest.org/ and grab a pre-built ISO, burn that to a CD and use that to do a full RAM-test.
  21. Well, I do hope you can give us some drool-material (screenshots and hopefully a vid? pretty please with beer (beer pwns sugar any day of the week) on top?) when it's done, v1per! Looks like it'll be a damn nice one.
  22. A2G all the way, either in the SU33 (High-speed low altitude insane kaboomery ftw) or the Vanilla-Frog. Haven flown the Tea-Frog much, since I tend to stick with the Vanilla.
  23. Nice one, Groove! Had to look a few times before I saw it :D I went "Well, that's an ugly counch...." :P
  24. Absolutely brilliant!!
