  1. I think they'll hit their funding goals but I have no idea about the stretches. Again, more pr support is needed. I agree on the in game vids or pics, they'd help a lot but they may not be that far along in the building process.
  2. SimHQ Does anyone know anyone that can get SimHQ to put this kickstarter on their homepage??? Or at least consider it. I bet there would be a spike in donations if they did. :music_whistling:
  3. Very true, and I don't expect them in the near future.
  4. Haha, I'm wrong sometimes too, ask anyone who knows me. The real question is: will we get the dual track capable weapons that have both GPS/laser guidance? http://www.lockheedmartin.com/us/products/PavewayIIDualModeLaserGuidedBomb.html
  5. SA-6s is a SARH (beam rider). Not sure about the R-27 tactic via buddy track. Sounds possible.
  6. I've done a little of that with some of the missions I made. They weren't very popular... hehe. Once we start getting DCS quality fast movers people will have a better chance of surviving of course. A-10 drivers getting smacked by an SA-11 from right below brings out the worst in people. :D
  7. Anyway that you could code that GG? If not add it to Speed's "to do" list :-)
  8. Good call, I didn't even think about that.
  9. Saw this earlier and while this tactic is not currently modeled (as far as I know) in DCS I can see how it could partially be replicated with a trigger in the sim. The video shows how a SA-6 operator in Bosnia shot down an F-16C back in the 90s (Scott O'grady's bird). The SA-6 operator (according to the video) acquired the F-16s speed, altitude, and heading with a short burst of radar usage then turned off and then waited till the F-16s were closer then launched his missiles and waited till they were closer to the F-16s to paint them for a hit. Food for thought if anyone wanted to create or ask for smarter SAMs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=znBi8Lr35vs
  10. Losing a friend is the worst, my condolences to those who knew him. May he rest in peace.
  11. I love this feature and I realize its kind of a no brainer, this makes sense, wish we had this sooner type feature but it really is a wonderful step for DCS. Great job ED!
  12. ED doesn't do that. Apparently, the like to keep us in the dark in the event they change directions that way they don't let anyone down. It sucks for us (the consumers) but it makes sense for them because no one can come back and complain that they didn't follow through with a previous statement.
  13. I love the F-15C and if ED makes a DCS version of it I'll buy it, but what this sim is really lacking right now is an aircraft that can handle both AG and AA. I'm really hoping for an F-16 or F-18. That way we can make missions with lots of SAM threats and not depend on AI to protect the strike package.
  14. Rough. Okay, looks like it has a nice pit though. I'll probably sit this one out though, I just can't go back now that the DCS has even us so much more. Its probably a good setup for beginners looking to learn the basics. I may buy it to support ED all the same.
  15. F-15C questions 1. Does the F-15C's MFD have any sub menus? 2. Does the F-15C's MFD interface with the TM Cougar MFDs? 3. Does anyone have a pic of the USAFs HOTAS functions for the F-15C (seen one for the F-15E and plenty for the F-16s out there but haven't found one for the F-15C). Thanks, I haven't bought into FC3 yet. I've been waiting for the "next DCS fixed wing US jet" like the rest with eager anticipation (to put it mildly :pilotfly:)
  16. I have to agree, the cryptic message from Wags seemed pretty luke warm and fuzzy. My guess is they're having fun with us.
  17. Nate, Could you sticky that fella in the mission builders corner. I'm sure there are plenty of people that could use it :)
  18. Well said sir. I couldn't agree more.
  19. Sigh.... you win GG, you win. You'd make a great lawyer.
  20. I'd take an F-5 any day. I don't see the point in ED releasing F-15C in FC3 and then duplicating them selves with a DCS: F-15C. I also haven't seen the vast majority of the community asking for the F-15C either. Whatever ED releases I'll buy though (not like it's breaking the bank). :)
  21. Anyone tried this yet? What's the verdict? Yay or Nay?
  22. Thats good to know. To be honest, I didn't even think that they might have to "reinvent the wheel" as it relates to weapons already simulated by ED. :D
  23. Ahh! Thanks, this post more or less answers my initial question on "what it takes to create an advanced flight model for the F-16?" My guess is the fellas over at BMS have some of what you've listed. I don't get the feeling they shoot from the hip, but I could be wrong. Thanks.
  24. Here's my TTPs for SEAD in the A-10c http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=72951&highlight=SEAD
  25. Couldn't agree more. I'm completely of the opinion that if ED or a well respected and well known 3rd party builds an F-16 then "they will come..." To me (and this is just my limited observation) the thing this sim lacks the most is a modern multi-role fighter. The A-10C is great. I love it. But obviously, there are things it cannot do and I think the amount of information out there on the F-16 makes it a good place start for any group that wants to make a go fast jet that can do a variety of missions.
