05.01.2024 - 2024 & Beyond | Winter Sale Last Chances
Braunn replied to Graphics's topic in Official Newsletters
Nice video. Like always, we get what we get when it's ready for early release basically. If Afghanistan and Iraq map is released 2024, then I bet if ED can get the Chinook ready there will be a LOT of happy faces. CH47D was heavily employed both wars. -
Nose will drop after aerobraking when its ready to. Theres no set speed where it should go down. If you cant hold the nose up w full elevator deflection.... guess what, youre not fast enough. And shes ready to wheel brake a little before rwy exit.

I quite like it and hard to see it as boring even though the Viper is my first love. Hornet is just a lower powered aoa beast with long legs. I find that fun as its the opposite of a Viper. Gotta reset the brain before flying it in many ways. Besides, it have a more complete weapons deployment compared to Vipers. And I'm not even close to have it "nailed" yet.
-
@baltic_dragon You said pizza. Now I'm hungry. Love you man.
-
NWS on until 70-80kts. Viper is the same. I have not noticed lower vertical stab authority myself but that doesnt mean you're wrong. I would also check the inputs and see if there's a curve setting implemented by the update. I remember last spring they screwed up the Viper controls pretty bad after an update.

You know, I wasnt even drunk when it happened but I have tried two times now same scenario after take off mission 2 and it's not occuring anymore. Maybe it was a pebkac issue. Probably, as I think about women a lot when I fly the Viper. But thanks for listening.
-
I tried a vanilla instant action to confirm and it was flying straight as an arrow. If it's not a known issue I'll try it again and see. It was definitely unflyable.

Mission 1 was fun and got the winds n stuff but mission 2 the winds went totally maniac. There's no way to trim it. Take off and climb all at 3-400kts and it's impossible to trim and it changes every 200ft. Setting trim nose up, then winds change, trim nose back down, winds change. Every second almost. Blablabla. Normal or nay?
-
Even worse.

No Norwegians, Russians, Finns or Swedes will buy the Kola map. Change my mind.

Have you tried ditching the unholy child called FSR 2.0 and run RSR instead?
-
Yeah, the radio stuff is easier when you just pop in SRS and have humans to deal with in mission. Played the first mission. Campaign looks to be magnificent. Really enjoyed it but it's NOT for beginners that don't want to get down and dirty with the systems in the Viper. Thank you for making it.

My GAWD I've been swearing, crying and screaming for 30 minutes trying to wake up Tower for cleared start up this fracking thing and didn't catch you gotta go OTHER at F10 option... YGBSM!!!! :)

Because Chill drops voltage to run cooler and I run the Full POWAH BIOS on water. My XFX gpu draws more than 400W.

Yes.

@Saruman Thanks to Cairo we now have a great benchmark city. I tried Radeon Chill and it takes away too much performance for me but as you have intel cpu and a 1080p monitor we cannot really compare performance. The SAM setting really does up my performance as it opens up access to Vram for the CPU on a big scale. Like all of it. That is a big deal if your AMD cpu is not top tier like my 5800x. There are benefits of going all AMD. That sets me up now, on watercooling, for a hotspot of 95C while GPU overall is about 55C. No upscaler over Cairo with all settings max nets 50FPS on a 4K monitor. RSR enabled it stays at 58-60FPS if I don't look to the sides, then it drops to a small slide show at 50fps again. 100k pre rendering. ALL 24gb used and also 34-36gb system ram utilized. Going from a 6800XT to a 7900XTX was a big upgrade. I can't imagine how bored your 7900XTX must be with a 6700K and 1080p.
-
Yeah like already mentioned here, FSR 2.0 seem unpolished and as others here I also get ghosting and some of the edges seem to dont remove jaggies even with TAA enabled. BUT helluva update! Holy crap this was a nice one! If you're on a pure AMD system try the RSR instead. It is an upscaler and supersampler on the driver side and it works better than FSR for me. Have NOT tested running the game vanilla on my brand spanking new 7900XTX yet tho. That's on the list for today. Thanks @Saruman for mentioning Radeon Chill. Will try that also. 7900XTX does like to be hawt. 5800x, 7900xtx, 64gb 3600mhz CL18 ram. IF = 1:1 and SAM enabled.

End of Multi gpu rigs (SLI/Crossfire) was/is a common endeavor by the manufacturers. Back in the day while it was kinda working you could buy two lower tier gpus and have more performance than with a single top dawg gpu for less money. Guess what, there's more money in it for ie. Nvidia to sell you a 4090 and make $4-600 pure profit PER CARD.

What's up with the price of button boxes?
Braunn replied to Nightdare's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Cuz stupid people with stupid money keeps buying. -
It changes a lot because there's a big difference between a spatial upscaler and a supersampler. RSR is both. Not "just" a spatial upscaler like NIS, or "just" a spatial upscaler like FSR or "just" a supersampler like DLSS. Wording it like RSR is the same as Nvidia NIS which is "just" an upscaler is misleading at best. If you don't know, don't argue. No offense.
-
RSR is a spatial upscaler AND supersampler, so what you're posting is not correct. The reason why AMD prompts you to disable RSR if you're going to run FSR in a supported game is because they share the same algorithm. You will be running two "identical" algorithms at the same time and that can result in a conflict/time complexity between them. In other words, lesser performance. But please keep going. I see where you're coming from.
-
RSR is the same algorithm as FSR. Enable RSR, whatever sharpening you can use and downscale the native resolution in game to what's prompted. Double check that GPU scaling is enabled. It should automatically be enabled when running RSR. If you have a Intel/AMD system you won't benefit from SAM which I highly suspect means a lot if you run RSR. It's the same algorithm as FSR and it's called RSR, but you can't really say what FSR or RSR version it is. But close enough to say that FSR works with DCS, because both FSR and RSR is spatial upscaling. Difference eing RSR is also supersampling and you have to set it manually, unlike FSR and DLSS. Adrenaline drivers have matured a great deal. I tried the RSR setting a year ago and it was crap compared to now. The difference being that just because the game don't "support" FSR, that doesn't mean RSR which is driver based will not work. There's no in game menu that let's you enable it. Another point of interest might be that FSR have a higher performance value but I'm not so sure about that in DCS. I went from 30fps to steady 55-60fps in a heavy as hell multiplayer server at 4k native res. The server mission eats all 16gigs of Vram and run 36gb RAM on top of the 4 gig system RAM.

Upcoming campaign for the F-16C in Syria: "The Gamblers"
Braunn replied to baltic_dragon's topic in Community News
I wouldnt say the Viper is very complex, it's more purpose built and pilot/human interface oriented. Lots of things on it is simplified compared to a Hornet or even a Tomcat IMO. Flip side of that is its not truly a multirole like a Hornet or Mudhen. You're like that woman in the bar that just wont stop teasing but when you approach her she's not interested. Come on son! Get her out there! -
Hint: Thread title. Hint 2: Both planes OP asks for are fly by wire. Well not exactly the F15E but in essence it might as well be, because of the stability augmentation computer flcs in the E. But lets talk about biplanes next. Or triplanes!
