  1. I stil rock the Warthog but this got me interested because of the adjustable spring tensioners. I like the stick hard for jets but in the Huey it gets tiring. Imagine just turning down the tension. Would be nice.
  2. And let me tell ya, flying helicopters cannot be boring. Don't know about the CH47 but our beloved Huey (that ED seems to have completely forgotten about) is a handful at times and is harder to control than any AAR in a fixed wing. There. I said it.
  3. Got any recommendations for books? As others have stated though, I am also getting tired/sour of the pre purchase stuff. Did it once with the F-15E and it still doesn't have a datalink among other things. Never again. Well I did it with SA map too but that's like 10 minutes of flying it and it grew old. Just drop a well enough functioning module/map, with a short enough roadmap, and people will buy.
  4. Nothing applies to this discussion. It's not even a real discussion. 100% speculation through and through.
  5. In my case it's not a negative assumption, rather a positive one because I can have my life back if all flight sims died. I have no self control.
  6. All I'm saying is that subscription fees are imminent if you guys keep forking out cash for something they aren't even obligated to release. Or refund. Read and understand the EULA when you make a purchase. But i digress. Goooo F-4!
  7. But this is a game. Not a necessary software program to run a business or whatever. That said, the terms have gotten way way more extensive and one sided over the past 15-20 years. You know this. I've read a few so yes, the companies writing said terms are both entitled and down right rude. So, ENTITLED goes both ways. The problem is that this bad software culture is leaking to almost every type of purchase there is. You own way less of even your physical objects now versus only 20 years ago. And here we have people defending it. Like it's perfectly normal. Well yes, if you lower the standards of what you expect to pay for it is. To be clear, I'm not complaining. I haven't paid a dime on any pre purchase here at all. Just baffled how people keep defending that business model for computer in-game objects. Keep it up and you'll be paying a subscription fee every month to play on top of the module prices like iRacing does.
  8. Exactly. Thats the difference in the world now. People would never do that not too long ago.
  9. As far as companies charging full payment way before delivery goes I agree. Very entitled.
  10. Who cares. It's a cartoon plane a lot of people already paid for. No worries.
  11. Tanking a crippled F4 at high AOA, 1600 feet above the water at 190kts. Wow. Well deserved and true heroes of aviation.
  12. Just did a test run at different altitudes, clean config. No pylons. You might wanna re-try your flight test. Below 5000ft over Marianas in good weather it not only sustains airspeed at 7.5g starting at 400kts but accelerates. I even pressed the paddle while on A/B and it hits 9g until GLOC. At 19000ft there's a different story and it bleeds fast on MIL and A/B but it's noticeable better in level turns for me. All in all it's not a big difference but on a clean jet it holds energy much better IMO. Not very realistic for me to fly a clean jet though. I'm always loaded to the gills. LOL I don't know what update you got but for me the Hornet is in beast mode now. Several people already posted on YT about it already. I'm not complaining though. I love that jet.
  13. F-18 definitely OP now. Holy crap even I can win a dog fight.
  14. Haven't noticed it says TNDL myself. I still say L16. LOL
  15. If you're adjusting fuel load for weight before testing you're basically moving the yard stick around, and it will create a different result. I get that you probably like the Vipers very much, I do too, but there's no way around the fact that they are thirsty AF when operating in a combat scenario. They do have range in perfect conditions like good AOA (6deg), light load and 90 percent throttle, but I don't like to compare fighters to airliners.
  16. No fuel adjusting, no overthinking it. Plane for plane testing. Full tank. Apples apples. Ferry range is not what most people do so the most realistic way of doing it is fly a mission. 10/10 times I can stay active in the AO longer in the Hornet than in a Viper before starting to look for a tanker. That said, I've also done a few tests comparing them both just taking off and cruise and the Hornet range is at least 50 miles more no matter what I do.
  17. Doesn't really swap around though. I have yet to experience the Hornet in any scenario where it doesn't have longer range than the Viper. And I fly both regularly while in the Viper I always stay out of burner unless super necessary. Most cases, even with two bags, couple of mavs and Jdams, unless runway is short, I don't even use burner on take off in the Viper. In the Hornet you kinda have to with weapons loaded up. Clean neither needs burner on take off in this game. Try a clean Hornet and a clean Viper, stay out of burner on both and check for yourself.
  18. Can't accomodate for everyone. It's an impossible task. When you jump into that rabbit hole and make a French translation, here comes the Spanish and wishes a Spanish version. Then you have the Asian crowd. A LOT of Asians from many Asian countries with very different languages play DCS. So where would it end?
  19. Game launchers are kinda noob territory and makes it easier for new players that DONT know how to navigate the folders and such, but I see how it may make DCS more appealing. Even if I don't like it.
  20. AS a fresh Huey guy with fresh eyes I notice the Huey has lots of potential still for a better game experience. Like loading up the chopper with troops or whatever, you can actually see them, would be an experience booster. Maybe easier to accomplish would be LIGHTS. Landing and search light is not even close to realistic performance.
  21. Nice video. Like always, we get what we get when it's ready for early release basically. If Afghanistan and Iraq map is released 2024, then I bet if ED can get the Chinook ready there will be a LOT of happy faces. CH47D was heavily employed both wars.
  22. Nose will drop after aerobraking when its ready to. Theres no set speed where it should go down. If you cant hold the nose up w full elevator deflection.... guess what, youre not fast enough. And shes ready to wheel brake a little before rwy exit.
  23. I quite like it and hard to see it as boring even though the Viper is my first love. Hornet is just a lower powered aoa beast with long legs. I find that fun as its the opposite of a Viper. Gotta reset the brain before flying it in many ways. Besides, it have a more complete weapons deployment compared to Vipers. And I'm not even close to have it "nailed" yet.
  24. @baltic_dragon You said pizza. Now I'm hungry. Love you man.
  25. NWS on until 70-80kts. Viper is the same. I have not noticed lower vertical stab authority myself but that doesnt mean you're wrong. I would also check the inputs and see if there's a curve setting implemented by the update. I remember last spring they screwed up the Viper controls pretty bad after an update.
