  1. This is my video, and it happened the second I got shot by a Zeus at 1000 feet. All my oxygen systems are on (I turn them on every start up, and I double check them when I'm fencing in), and the instant that I got shot, my screen turned black like this. Sorry I don't have a track, it's been a couple weeks since it happened.
  2. But it's not DCS:A10 compatible anytime soon :P
  3. They do some pretty damn realistic training out in the Nevada fields...I'd imagine it would be pretty fun. And who cares if it's US soil? Just imagine as...not US soil. I think the pictures are awesome, and though the time line for the release is way farther than a lot of people expected, I think it'll be nice...if everyone is still playing by then. Looking forward to seeing what the dynamic weather will bring to the Nevada field. I'm not sure if any of you fellas have spent time in Nevada other than Las Vegas, but the dust storms we get out here in the desert is crazyyyyy. Would be fun to see if high winds cause dust storms.
  4. Well, there goes my theory!
  5. The plane is supposed to and probably always will veer to the right if you're not trimmed up. I believe it's the movement of the fans in the 2 massive engines that cause this. They spin to the right, thus your plane goes right, and you have to counter this by trimming the aircraft quite a bit. Every time I take off, I always have to kick in major trim right and nose up. The Hog naturally wants to nose down and veer to the right, so we have to counter it. Also, depending on how you have your ordinance set up, may depend the way your plane leans, ie if you have a 2000 pound beast on your left wing and just messily rocks on the right wing, you're going to of course lean left. But even if you take a naked plane, you'll notice that always lean to the right.
  6. Get high and use the TGP. If you know there's Air Threats in the immediate area, make a slow 10-15 degree orbit and click on the altitude autopilot and search for targets in your TGP and mark them when you find them. Stay about 20 miles out or so. When you're ready to engage, stay high and slave your maverick to that mark point and engage whenever you're in maverick range (about 8ish miles). Once you fire, get the hell out of there and repeat. If you stay at a good altitude (20,000 for most of the bigger and badder SAMs) and use mavericks at a distance, you'll always stay alive...hopefully.
  7. Was thinking that, but then thought about the times you lose your tgp or the mission isn't slated for a tgp (not all real missions use tgp), then what?
  8. Can anyone describe how to fully use the pave penny and its laser? I read in the manuel where you can use it as navigation from friendly forces, but I couldn't find anything in the manuel going into this topic in more depth. Appreciated, chris
  9. There's quite a few pages in the manual about this stuff...
  10. I always get clearance and I get him to disconnect ground power, and he always yells in my ear.
  11. Dingo, you're kind of a jerk.
  12. oh...didn't see anything on facebook...is twitter the official update site?
  13. Has this been confirmed?
  14. Then there's so many people on these forums that hate helping people out :P Is that unique too?
  15. I've been wondering how exactly you know how far you've flown? when it says 35 miles, how do you know how many miles you've flown?
  16. I'm still waiting for good turbulence while flying through clouds, like real life. Every time I fly w/the guys at work and we enter some clouds, those clouds throw our plane/helo around like crazy at times.
  17. Gotta remember that DCS pretty much offers every type of weapon that the A-10charlie carries, so they offer the H model maverick. In real life, the H model is much cheaper than the D, so the A-10 would carry the D as a money saver (especially when mav's cost a couple 100 grand a piece). I assume this would be the reason that you mainly see A-10s with only 1, maybe 2, mavericks at a time (2 is kind of the max on a pod anyway, being that the inboard one would usually be left vacant). Just my .02
  18. ETA...I get an infinite sign...that's not good :( Oh wait! Now it changed to 3years and 21 weeks!
  19. Anyone know where I can buy some in the states, for 50-60 bucks and actually in stock? I saw the guy on ebay has them, but he wanted 100 plus shipping for them, and sorry, I don't want them that bad :p Especially when everyone else has them for 50-60 dollars. They seem to be on backorder everywhere, and just curious if any of ya'll knew of some super squirrely secret online place that might have some left. thanks! chris
  20. The above guys are correct. You have to hook the triangles and then hit the red cancel button (which actually means 'Can not comply') and it'll get rid of it. Sometimes you have to zoom in on the TAD with either china hat forward short or the plain zoom keys. They should go away.
  21. I've noticed that this Angle of Attack buzzer sounds more in B4 than any other Beta so far. And I'm still at a loss as to why I can't pull certain turns, when I've seen A-10's in real life pull much much sharper turns. I can't seem to go over 4-5 G's without that dang buzzer going off like crazy. And the past couple of days I've had that buzzer go off constantly when I've been in level flight, no trim, angels 14 and been going 215+ knots...I don't understand it.
  22. Pretty surethe boat switch for the MAV's change the reticle cross from white to black...but hey, I could be wrong.
  23. Saitek X52 isn't bad, until you get the twist rudder problem just about everyone gets after a couple of years. Lots of people use it, and it has a lot of buttons to map just about everything you need.
  24. I use a 32" samsung. Looks great, just gotta sit back a couple more inches than usual :P
  25. Thanks Warrior. When I adjust those in TrackIR, what does it do? make those areas stiffer? I change them, but never notice a change in the actual motion/view.
