  1. I'm right there with you, I get there land, then try to slide across the top to get into ETL so I can get off the ground. Havn't been able to get off the ground but I was going to lower my fuel because I think i'm getting there too quick (I go straight in via the beacon).
  2. Gradually, If you watch my landing video and look at my control movements you'll notice that when i'm transitioning out of ETL that I start giving it left rudder and increasing collective before things start going south. I'm learning with these kinda things you have to be ahead of the next step, i.e. applying slight left pressure before you need it. What helped me a lot was leaving the gun reticle on so you can maintain a visual reference with something in front of you indicating your pitch.
  3. Amazing work.
  4. I use center trim (non-FFB) and it seems to be working fine.

I agree, it's ok if you're just going to be working on air-taxi and hovering. The video I just posted is full linear with a TMWarthog. I think a lot of people just think they're doing something wrong and mess with the curves, just like anything else it takes time and LOTS of practise.
  6. Thank you we needed this section.
  7. Take 2 Landing and backing her into parking. TRACK Sorry in advance, it may not be available in some countries.
  8. If anybody wants to see all the forms of radio navigation in the Huey, see my tutorial videos. I cover ILS/FM/VOR/ADF/NDB. Navigation by AM isn't possible AFAIK in the Huey. The UHF has a ADF setting but from what i've read from real life manuals it's not used.
  9. Take a look at my test mission, you can combine all your songs into a .OGG or .WAV file and stream it through the radio in the pit, nice because you can turn it on/off plus volume controls with whichever radio you choose to use.

So I just found something that helped me A LOT. leave the gun reticle up when you fly, since we don't have a prominent hud it helps you stay oriented to the horizon. Gives you reference without having to look down at the HUD, also allows you to zoom out quite a bit so you're not trying to fly "through a straw".
  11. Still working thx. I have a 105/50 Mbps connection and I'll leave it streaming for a couple hours at full.
  12. M134D for the door gunners.

I think he's refering to . I really hope this is going to be in the Huey's "roadmap", those 60's aren't cutting it.
  14. Or whomever got to download it could make a torrent.
  15. That sounds awesome, now if only they'd make a shark manual taking into account the English pit. Hopefully they'll keep working on the shark as well as these new aircraft.
  16. Thx for the info.
  17. Maybe with all the AP channels off. I did some reading on coaxial rotor flight dynamics and it eliminates some bad tendencies of traditional single rotor design and reduces some. The vortex ring is one of the things it reduces, aside from the jumpy collective and the brick wall transition from ETL i'm not having any serious issues with the FM. Having said that I expect the shark to fly differently than the Huey (not accounting for the AP assistance). As they say the FM is a WIP so i'm just posting some of my thoughts on the matter. I'm not a Huey pilot so i'm far from an expert.
  18. Sure can, in whichever mission you'd like either do it the way indicated in the first post or (as I did) have one of your friendly units transmit a combined .WAV or .OGG file. So to be clear select unit, set freq (I set mine to 40 FM but any freq in the AM or FM will work),set transmit message,in the file box select your file. When you're in the pit tune to the same freq as set in the mission editor. I used sony vegas to combine all the songs into one .OGG file but i'm sure there are free programs to do the same. Feel free to download my test mission and look at the unit labeled "radio" and see the options I have set. Tested with the hog, the shark, and the Huey.
  19. GREAT IDEA RE: commercials. I just created a "radio station" in my test mission and like you said it made the mission over 60MB, I rendered it (in sony vegas) at the highest setting which I think was unnecessary. If you already have those commercials recorded I could use them.
  20. Noticed the same thing tonight, although at night I fly with NVG 97% of the time it would be nice if they worked.
  21. Thanks, any input is welcome. I've never seen a radio station implemented as i've done in the mission so I'm wondering why that is, surely people have done it before me.
  22. When you transition out of the ETL the rotor "bite" seems too severe. even with smooth control inputs you hit a "brick wall" where you have to apply near full rudder deflection. When decelerating at a gentle rate you have to make large collective adjustments, not just when coming out of ETL but when well out of it. Seems like the angle of attack of the rotors isn't steady.
  23. Also turn the IFF knob to the left or right so the warning light on your system panel goes out.
  24. I'm not an expert with the mission editor but I made this base mission to build on. If all goes well I'll expand on this and make a MP version. I have about 20 minutes worth of music for the radio station, just tune you FM radio to 40.00 and the music will kick in when you lift off. It's implemented like a normal radio broadcast which means you can turn it off/on as well as turn it up and down with the radio controls in the cockpit. For people who aren't up to speed on the radio systems yet (also see my tutorial videos), the FM radio is the one by default tuned to 30.00 and has FM printed down the left side and COMM printed down the right As a side benefit of running the radio is you can use it to home in on the FARP, switch the FM radio to HOME and you'll have music and navigation). A summery of the mission is you've been tasked to fly some supplies down the river to a FARP, they are ramping up for a attack but are low on supplies and need parts for the Cobra that's stationed out of the FARP. Feel free to edit the mission abd give construtive input, I'd like to have the 2nd trigger for when the Huey lands at FARP Dublin but couldn't figure it out. Mission goals are outlined in the briefing. Mission
  25. That link is to my dropbox, I got that compiled list off of the ED user file section, I didn't make it. I know that the ipad DCS app has them listed in the airport diagrams, unfortunately I haven't found a way to just find ADF while in mission, you have to refer to the list. If the airport has ILS you can use that to home in to the airport as well.
