  1. Razbam's modules were possibly 90% of my time in DCS and I too was waiting for that MiG-23. Please, get your profanities together people.
  2. Another thing that makes me loose my patience... Although this is probably some button press I forget that has noting to do with the mission. I carry the two LMAVs. I can launch the firs on all right, either on the Gauntlet or on one of the tanks. Fine. But then the second lmav wouldn't launch. I reviewed the procedure, firs missile works fine, no way to launch the second one. Really annoying.
  3. In this mission you don't carry any, it's internal fuel only and landing on a road strip FARP.
  4. I'm back to flying and trying to get through this mission. I realized I had poor engine management. Among others, this campaign taught me to always have an eye on the fuel gauge. On the flight to the target zone I am usually well ahead of the fuel prevision in the flight plan but when I get to shoot, I seem to run out of gas pretty fast. I hit the Gauntlet, the Shilka, the ZuS57, the Manoad dude, some launchers and I'm bingo shortly after the surviving launchers move. In a playthrough video I watched, he had time to looter a little hunting the launchers on the run and hit the secondary targets. I know it's basic but still, any advice? (and no, I'm not at gate all the time, try to keep about 350TAS or M0. 6-0.7)
  5. That's what I was doing. For a reason, I learned to refuel the Harrier from your video. The whole series is a must for anybody getting into the module. Thanks for the great work!
  6. A really great mission! I was happy to pass this mission fairly rapidly (not actually first try because of my computer crashing or RL interfering) but not with full score. I can fairly reliably hit the first two targets with single Mk 82s, I really struggle to find and destroy the tank. I went back to the armor training range where I did fairly good but I'd rely on hotspot chevrons to find targets, refine with the DMT then drop on the DMT marker. In the mission, just visually acquiring the target is difficult and well, not being able to bust armour is somewhat bad for a Harrier pilot. Also, should I use a Mk 82 (as I've seen in a playthrough video)? The Mk 20 seems to be the logical choice and possibly able to mitigate the difficulty of the target moving?
  7. As others have said... WHAT A BLAST! I was hesitating to start this campaign, thinking I was maybe not proficient enough in the Harrier. I started anyway and am having the best time in DCS since I did the Mirage campaign (I'm in the mission 3 now). I love the immersion and the learning curve. Thank you so much!
  8. Thanks! I did try at some point to use a Huion tablet with OpenKneeboard but never managed to actually make the tablet work, with Openkneeboard or otherwise. Might be due to leftovers from that. Anyway, I was more concerned by the pages that wouldn't show up.
  9. First of all, I love Openkneeboard, using the stock kneeboard in VR is really clunky ant this utility is a huge help. I can live with OKB (never realized the abbreviation was that cool!) crashing easily, I'm not sure if this is an issue of the program or of my installation. But here's someting strange: when I was doing the training missions in the Harrier, all of the boards were visible in OKB, bow that I started a campaign, I only see the campaign-specific pages (Mission, Briefing etc), but the standard Worksheet doesn't show up and neither do the procedure pages. Also, some pages look slightly different in Openkneeboard and in the stock popup kneeboard. I was able to add some files to Openkneeboard but I don't get why it retrieves anly a part of what should be there automatically.
  10. Your setup looks impressive! I was contemplating moving to floor-based supports but I have to accomodate a restrained space.
  11. I might be posting in the wrong section, sorry if this is the case. So I just got my PTO2 panel and I'm trying to figure out where (and how) to mount it for the best effect. I have my stick and the throttle (Winwing Orion with the bulkier F-16 grip and the also bulky side plate) on long monstertech mounts. I was imagining the panel attached to the vertical part of the Monstertech, that's where most of those controls sit in the real aircraft, right, and we all saw photos of both Winwing panels stacked on the mount in front of the throttle. But when I try that, the throttle grip bumps (of drives my fingers) in the levers and the undercarriage lever ends up awkwardly low and wedged behind the side plate of the throttle. On the other hand, putting the panel on top of the mount (as the Monstertech holder does) places the panel stangely high, basically where an MFD would be. I still can lower my throttle a little but it's already as far back as it could. Any advice on getting the geometry about right? Also, I wonder about the actual mounts. The winwind's own calamp? the Monstertech bracket? Thanks foy your input.
  12. 5900xt/5800x/G2 here. I tried to adjust the Toolkit for 2.9, it only made my (unimpressive) fps do lower. I was able to have pretty consistently 45-50-something fps, now it dips to 30s when near ground. MR doesn't work sor me, do you recommend Turbo mode (not sure it gave good results bit I haven't touched the Toolkit for months), also, should I enable FRS in OpenXR?
  13. 6900xt here, with a 5800 (non-3d). I play in VR, with a Reverb G2. With FRS everything got blurry, MFDs in my Harrier were hardly readable. I had to go back to FRS off and Msaa enabled, no real gain compared to previous update. The worst ting is I reopened the Openxr toolkit again, after several months and did something stupid so I actually lost some fps. Before the update and my tinkering, I'd usually get 45-50 fps.
  14. Thanks so much! Will definitely try this. So that explains why in your video (great one! Your channel deserves more views) you spend more time over the target than what I was able to do.
  15. Just a noobish question. I love Baltic Dragon's work, the Mirage campaign was until now my best moment in dcs so I was eager to find something of the kind for the Harrier. When I started the mission, my Harrier spawned with no bombs attached. The rest of the load out was as per the briefing but no Mk 82s... Is this a bug? Or should I request rearming? But I only get 4 of them, 2x on each free pylon.
  16. You still get equipped with 2x Irma, 2x sidearm and a tpod. I usually manage to destroy the tank with the mav, getting the shilka with either the second mav or the sidearm is more tricky. Last time I went to the airfield to get myself full fuel, GBUs and apkws... But the Russian helps arrived before I could rejoin the fight and I still only had sidearms.
  17. Reviving this thread: I've been trying to do this mission. I'm fresh out of the training missions on the Harrier. The vertical take-off is surprisingly difficult, the plane would barely lift off the pad, no way to establish a hover at 50 ft and then transition, I have to start transitioning uncomfortably close to the ground. Also, what is the good tactical approach here? I suppose I have to go back to the pad? I tried going back to the airfield and come back with a heavy aircraft but a lot of bad this gs happened when I was away.
  18. I don't know to what extent this applies to the MiG-21 since the tables come from the Su-7. Still, I hope this may be of use. The Czech O letani, sort of Czech-language Aircrew interview, just dropped an interview with a Su-7 pilot. I don't understand much of what they say as I don't speak Czech and you can only guess so much, there probably will eventually be English subtitles but that takes time. Anyway, around 1:10:50 you see some bombing tables, attack profiles and bombing range circuit diagrams.
  19. I know the problem. I have the cutoff mapped to the "button" activated when you put the throttle in the cutoff position (I have the F-16 handle). I have to be careful when starting up, at first I push the throttle frankly, ther reduce it very gradually, sometimes I have to relight the engine. Once I have been able to put the thadle against the idle stop, I'm good for the flight. Still, this is annoying, if anybody has a real solution, I'd love to hear it.
  20. Jumping on this topic for a different question. Is my understanding right that the grips were upgraded also? I was tempted to upgrade from the MCG Pro to the Ultimate. The standalone grips are still Mk III (connector rev B), so if I upgrade the base with an upgrade kit, a standalone grip wouldn't be compatible anymore? If so, I'd better wait for the update, then look for the grip at some point further.
  21. I don't have the STECS but am watching it carefully. I really like the four encoders on my Winwing throttle base, I sue them as Comms 1, Commes 2, Baro and courseline (in the Harrier)/course bug (L-39); in the Mirage I have 2 of them bound to the HSI knobs, one for baro and one for the green radio. I too am a little concerned for the loss of the encoders. I'd also like some additional levers (think nozzles in the Harrier, maybe wingsweep, maybe piston engine controls).
  22. Thanks for the advice, I stumbled in the same issue as I was going through the training and couldn't see a thing through the pod (in vr, Reverb G2)
  23. That's for sure. Still, it's hard to understand as it is a seriously old radar. I've heard French Mod was paranoid but even they didn't mind the RDI radar, and that one was able of guiding missiles. I get there is some common genealogy between the Tornado ADV and the Typhoon, but the FRS1 is way older.
  24. Their website seems down... I would love to see this project succeed even if I probably wouldn't be among the first buyers.
