  1. Boost speeds is borked on most if not all boards requiring workarounds (none that I know for this board). So yeah we need fixed BIOSes. Glad to hear its working for you, as I have the same board. :) (BTW CPU is not here yet) Also you might be able to set your RAM at 3600 CL16 and infinity at 1800 to sync CPU and RAM for best performance.
  2. yes SSD's can do multiple reads/writes concurrently without loosing speed.
  3. See my first post here to locate the list. You can avoid alot of headaches if you avoid buying a random kit.
  4. Yeah, good choice of motherboards to have the BIOS flash button. Just make sure the RAM kit is in the Qualified kits for that motherboard and that it can reach 3200Mhz stock (3600 optimal). See below and click "compatibility" and then select Matisse ridge: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B450-GAMING-PLUS.html#support-mem-19
  5. you need VRAM first at those resolutions, and then you should choose GPU second. The 5700XT is a mid tier card with just 8GB of VRAM. This also excludes the 2080. Realistically there are only 4 cards capable you should choose: Radeon VII 1080Ti 2080Ti Titan RTX
  6. Thinking getting a virpil base for my warthog grip.
  7. Strange? No. It's an AMD launch with the usual train wreck. :D There are no good BIOSes yet either. Installing the new CPU right now is a gamble.
  8. My order is not thru, and something tells me the 3900X model will be in short supply for a while.
  9. heavy simulations have a different behavior and tax system resources different from those shooters in all the benchmarks. I bet DCS will benufit more from the added cache and the new floating point bandwidth.
  10. The BIOS is to blame. The CH6 support page has serious ommissions. This board will taken any 3000 cpu including 16 core providing the BIOS works. I'll provide proof later.
  11. FPS numbers are meaningless for games with dated engines that go up in hundreds of FPS in single core anyway.
  12. I'll race it against whatever you got mate. :) Also, Its a direct CPU replacement on my 2 year old motherboard. Try that in a year with a 9900K.
  13. ordered a 3900X. :)
  14. depends on the number of cores you have. If you are on a 8700K or above, its too soon to upgrade. Im not aiming for a sensible upgrade, its just for fun. :D
  15. The Crosshair vi will take even a 16 core, my fear is the Power supply when all cores are overclocked
  16. Will plonk one 3900x onto my existing motherboard. I might put up test results for comparison with my current 2700x.
  17. Not saying it will be, but may mark the decline of personal computers if it catches on. You will be paying subscriptions and for sure games plagued by micro transactions. The Gaming companies have been salivating over this for years and if you look closely to the industry they will always shove subscriptions and micro transactions every time they can get away with.
  18. IF STADIA somehow became the only platform for gaming you could kiss goodbye to gaming as you know it. DCS on stadia? not a chance.
  19. Yikes, hope they change that wing layout. That's Fugly.
  20. 1:48 or 1:32? Sweet model man. Your skilled.
  21. 12 cores on air? Dunno, 3900x may have the same TDP of an 2700x but they may scale thermally differently after overclocking due to the added cores. I wouldn't dare, or recommend anyone getting 3900X without at least an Aio. 3800x and below should be easy on air.
  22. Yeah AMD pulled a leg on the leakers. 5ghz might still be possible for Single Thread, however according to my experience locking all cores to a slightly lower frequency than max single core clock does not impact results much.
  23. I just found Nightwish. And I was Floored. ;) JYjIlHWBAVo
  24. Intel cant produce multi-core CPU's on 10nm yet. Yelds are really poor and large monolithic CPU's will have disabled cores due to defects.
