LOL im sure it will, but when i have nothing to compare it to but FS2004 its seem alright! Once ive flow a few others im sure it will seem like a slow ant! Everything seems to feel quickish, untill you have something to compare it too. Just like my magna! cheers

Only thing i can think of is to start over. Uninstall lockon fully delete folders and such like you did, then defrag, reboot, install lockon from CD then imediately install FC1.1, then reset and launch FC. Give it a go, its the only thing i could think of doin. Im assuming you have the minimum system requierments? Cheers

There isn't much point goin for a 6600GT or a new generation like that because your cpu will not be able to feed it with enough information to show the benifits of the new gpu. However the 9800pro is older, and is regarded as the best value for money. period. Generally around the $130 Since the gpu is cheap i would also buy another stick of 512 pc2100 ram ($30). This will give you the best possible results with your cpu. Hope this helps, cheers

personally i would keep saving for a few more months and do the whole lot! But if thats not possible the 9800pro is your best bet, and possibly some more ram, im guessing that would be pc2100 ram?

You can turn the labels off with shift F10! However it is slightly annoying to do it every flight. I generally like to have the missile labels on though, as i have no luck with getting a visual on them. cheers

Didn't really use the trim wheel, coz i was just stuffing around doing lots of turns and things so i wasn't to worried about that, i did have a little play with the trim to get a feel for it. Sadly i have to wait over a week before my next lesson! I too am looking forward to the IL-2 patch to come out, haven't checked for a while is it out? cheers

Finally had part of my 21st present, the initial flying lesson. I was suposed to have it on monday morning but we were fogged in. So finally i got down to the airport and got up flying. I got to do the take off, with a bit of help on the rudder peddels, and most of the flight, doing basically anything i wanted ie steep turns, dives and climbs. Went up in a Piper PA-28 Warrior 2, a nice little bird but still had a decent amount of grunt. needless to say i was so excited, and for those who wondered like i did, if fs2004 was anything like the real thing? I would say not really, the basics are there but the feeling/bumps just doesn't even come close! The controlls are much easier in real life except the rudder to some extent, but then i don't have a yoke or peddels, just my pro throttle and ff2. Now all i need to do is save my money so i can continue and get my ppl. For those who have thought about flying for real, DO IT NOW! Its the best thing ever and im sure everyone else who has flown would say the same! Cheers people

absolutely no need to touch those cpu's yet, especially since they are currently out preformed by the 55's. But it makes me happy to know that my skt939 MB can handle these new processors when the time does come!

true its more of an inconvenience, but if it was an isolated case it would be a problem. Never had this problem with 1.02.

Hi, Just having a really annoying problem with 1.1, if i run the game for say 15mins, when i close the game it will shut down reasonably quickly. However if i play for extended times, it will almost exponentialy take longer and longer to close down, as is 1 hour of play = 5 mins to close the application! Anyone else having this problem? yep thats some pretty amazing temps without watercooling. i would be absolutly thrilled to have those temps on a presHOT. Lots of Overclocking headroom!!! cheers

As in it doesn't start at all or it plays the music and does nothing else? If it doesn't start at all it may be the serial key registration didn't work properly, or grahics drivers. I would suggest uninstalling graphics drivers and installing the 71.84 drivers. Another would be attempting to re-register 1.1/re-installing. Hope it helps a little, im no expert, just someone who knows what its like to not be able to play ur fav sims! Cheers

well with my specs i run at 1280*1024 4aa everything on high/on but water on med. With my GT overclocked i don't usually go anything under 30fps except with lots going on in the main a-10 campaign. But i really can't notice the drops if the fps counter isn't up! You love a similar system to mine. You will need a massive PSU to run dual ultras if thats were you heading though. Ive just found out from the guru3d forums that my psu isn't up to the task becasue of its 20pin connecter. even though asus tech support said it would be fine! Now ill have to pull power from another cable or buy a new psu which sucks!

Hi all, Im thinking of buying a HD ready 20.1" lcd monitor instead of a new tv and computer screen. The reason for the HD is so that i can run at 1600*1200@60hz through the computer. The question is, how smooth are the lcd monitors with 16ms reaction time and the 25ms reaction times? Is it noticable in lockon or does the reaction time not really effect the quality in game?? Also how do they go in FPS games ie far cry, doom 3? I have seen many people running lcd's on this forum so any input woud be appreciated. Cheers

On another note, eric do you have Pacific fighters, if so how does sli work with that? can you run water=3 smoothly?

Well luckly for you it isn't your set up. After stuffing around for ages trying to find why my computer was shutting down after a few minutes i got some interesting results. I tested 1.1 a-10 cas track for approx 5 mins and found: (1280*1024 4aa for all tests, default high settings 71.84 drivers) Singly gpu = 37.67 min=9 max=109 Sli arf = 29.23 min=8 max=75. I had water flickering and load balance showing. Sli sfr = 36.37 min=9 max=102. I had some texture corruption but not too bad overall. I also found that it was generally smooter than single gpu@stock (No load balancing view enabled this time) Single Gpu@425/1.14 = 42.1 min=10 max=108 (6fps more than an extra $400 gpu!) My first test after quiting lock on and looking at some temps/voltages my entire screen went green??? A reset fixed that, the next test i got shut down, possibly GPU1 overheated, it was really warm. I left it with a 20cm fan blowing onto it for about 5 mins then turned the machine back on. Once in windows GPU1=66C still!! (both on NV5+as5) Increased my threashold for my voltages in pcprobe thinking its possible the psu cutting out due to excess loading. Tryed afr2 and once again got shut down aproximately 1min into my test gpu1 was not nearly as hot coz i left the big fan blowing onto it and the side case off. Note 25C ambient temp. Needless to say i gave up!!! i have no idea what the problem is. Still quite possibly the psu but i would have thought 480W with 550peak would be enough for my setup with the extra GT. ill have to try out my brothers computer with my card in his (same setup only differing in HD and CD/DVD drives + hd tv card.) VIPER have you tested your setup with single vs dual cards? We would love to know how you got it working?? Cali: If we got sli for lock on primarily yes it seems it is a waste but not if they are used for numorous other games. Hopefully a driver release will help us on our way. It seems that viper with his dual Gt's got sli working and is happy with it, so im a bit confused. It is quite possible that eric isn't having much luck because the profile for lock on is missing?? I don't know. Just doesn't make sense that one person can get it running fine but another can't?? Hopefully the next official driver release does us proud. cheers

Wow that sucks, did you use the coolbits reg file? i wonder how viper got his working? And i wonder how the reviews got better results with older drivers. I assume sli is working in other games alright?

All i want is carrier ops for nato (f-18 super hornet) and an excellent dynamic campaign as my primary Wish. Then the AFM to be on all aircraft. Im sure we will see all these and more in the next few years. Im excited! (those from aussie land would know of Big Kev!) Cheers
