  1. voted game because of the fact that two buttons will completely start your engines and all systems. As far as flight models and weapon systems ill leave that up to the experts. To become a sim, i would need it to have the avionics of F4 with all the push buttons and the FM and weapon system and models of lockon. cheers
  2. running 91.31 too had them for a week or so, haven't noticed much in improvements that i can relate to the drivers as ive just added SLI but im liking the new control viewer thingo, makes things a bit simplier. cheers
  3. I did have my zoom on my throttle on the FFB2 but i would then have to take my hands off the stick to use it. Trackir is good for zomm but when trying to keep the image zoomed in for a period, like on the MFD it just shakes around too much, even when i couldn't keep my head more still if i tried. It curtainly is a bit of a struggle to hit switches in fs9 but i don't have the annoying zoom issues as much as i do with the combat profile. Still great fun either way cheers
  4. Im guessing your in america? then i think go-gamers is the best. I got mine from a local store in australia for 268AUD which is about 200 bucks US. Can't say i use it all that much tho. Basically useless for fs2004, unless the plane has a good VC which most free ones don't and even default 747 one is average. Works well with lockon, just a few issues i need sorted. Like the default zoom i like to have it back a little, but then the zoom is too sensitive and it jerks around a bit making things hard to read. Most likely me tho so defenetly get it as 6DOF mixed with a great VC like the piper warrior from aus sim, is awesome and thats what BS will be like. As for the hat, just email natural point or go-gamers and find out the best thing. I just use a standard hat, that is purely for the trackir. Anyway good luck with it all cheers
  5. If that mb isn't AM2 then the DDR2 ram will not work, only ddr 400mhz ram will go with it. I would also wait a while, unless your current system is really average
  6. well, firstly how do you know that your ff2 is getting to the end? mine is still solid as ever. Hell i wish it would break so i could have an excuse to by th CH fighterstick! Second, i don't use FF anyway as it decreased preformance heaps in lockon and in IL2 the vibrations made my shooting really bad! For memory i don't think there are any decent ones out there. Ive seen many logitech ones die and can't really think of any other FF ones. Id be temped to sell you mine if the price was right! Im in australia so it isn't that far. cheers
  7. Hi, This link is all you will need to know about lockon and WS. http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=13573&highlight=widescreen I think with 1.12a patch it corrects the FOV automatically but i can't remember, worth checking. Maybe it should be stickied coz there are many thread floating around like this on now. cheers
  8. Thanks, i have since found that the angle i would have it on is fine. Yes i will be using a cap with the track clip, so far its looking good. cheers
  9. Hi. I posted this over at naturalpoint, but thought i would ask it here too as i know a number of you use trackIR. I just have a couple of questions that i would like answered before i purchase the trakir4pro. 1. Does this device fit on a dell2405FPW screen? and does the device need to be at eye level to work? Currently the top of my screen is a good 6inches above the top of my head. If it can't fit ontop of the screen due to the heat vents can it sit on the desk (thus being about a foot below the top of my head)? 2. The issue of the trackir 4pro and nforce 4 MB, has it been resolved and does it effect everyone? Im using a asus Sli-deluxe board. Thanks in advance for your respnse. Nate
  10. looks good, but i still hate that bright green shinny grass!! Seriously what is up with that. Can't they make it less shinny and a darker green? Sort of makes it look cartoony. cheers
  11. Switch targets as in AG targets?? What plane are you flying in? To cycle through your targers in AG mode press ` button (next to the 1 key) The little dimond will change to the next target. Or simply blow up the one its is tracking and it will automatically swap. cheers
  12. FF can be turned on and off in the producer.cfg file in your lockon folder. I turn it off as ff isn't that flash in my opinion and it does drain your fps. So turn it off and im sure you will soon forget about it. cheers
  13. I can't compare the two, but i can tell you that the move to the CH gear was the best thing i did. But then i was only using a MS FF2 not a hotas. So far i have the throttle and peddles, and they still work perfectly as when i bought them a year ago. cheers
  14. Wow! thats some good results. So AFR2 works the best. I would be happy with a 50% increase. you can't do much more with those lockon settings, that would just look fantastic. Im only running one 6800gt, i thought about a second, but it would be cheaper to sell my GT and buy a 79gtx. At the moment my gpu is whats holding me back the most, but i can't justify getting a new card now when DX10 cards will be on the horizon soon. Anyways your results are fantastic and id be really happy with that. cheers
  15. AA: 4x ---------- Could run at 8x AF: 8x ----------- Could run at 16x Image Settings: Quality ---------- change to High Quality Graphic Setting in Sim Tex: High Scenes: High Terr: 50Kms ---------- Change to 100km Civ Traffic: On Water: Medium -------- Try High, but i think med looks the best. Hase: Basic ------------ Change to advanced Lights: All Vis Range: Medium ------ Try High and see what happens. Effects: High Heat Blur: On Shadows: Full Color: 32bit Res: 1600 x 1200 Full Screen: Off -------------- Why? With that setup you should have most things maxed out and still not notice any difference in fps.
  16. Try unpluging your stick and reinstalling it. I assume the game still recognises the other axis on the stick?
  17. Get into the options part of the menu, and then go to input. Then in the top right section of the screen there is the axis switch. click that then select your controller from the drop down menu on the left. From there you can assign whatever axis on your stick to any one of the options in the list. Hope that helps
  18. I agree, skip duel gpu setups. Really not worth the money, especially ATI where it is just getting decent MB's out for it, it still has a long way to go. What screen/resolution can you run? I would save your money and buy something you will benifit more from. cheers
  19. I think they may have already done it. Not 100% sure. When i installed the latest patch 1.12a, i didn't have to re-edit the FOV settings?? But anyway once it is set up no real need to go back into the options cheers
  20. Im tipping that this thread and its link within would be all you need to get what your after. Enjoy http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=13573
  21. I had a similar problem but it involed using my microstick on the CH pro throttle as my horizontal n vertical view. The view would get stuck looking over my left shoulder if i pressed any of the hat buttons on my FF2 whilst using the microstick. I too removed all commands that related to any other stick. Works fine now. Just a real pain in the but to delete all those keys. cheers
  22. The effects that flaps have on an aircraft are that it increases lift. The more stages (10, 15, 30 degrees) of flaps you take the more lift is generated. However as more stages are taken the more airflow is disrupted to create the lift thus increasing drag, ie slowing you down. Using flaps is a great benifit for landing as you can obtain a lower nose attitude (see more of the ground) at a certain speed than you can without using flaps. Flaps are used in takeoff, but it really depends on the specific aircraft. Taking off without flaps will generally require a higher speed as less lift is being generated by the wings without the use of flaps. However using full flaps will decrease the acceleration of the aircraft as more drag is acting on the plane. Flaps can be taken or retracted at any altitude, it all depends on the airspeed and the aircraft. Obviously taking flaps at high speed will put lots of force on the flaps themselves and may damage or destroy the structure of the flaps/wing. In general aviation the airspeed indicater will tell you all the speeds for certain things like stall speed, max speed for flaps and so forth. I hope this explains the use of flaps and when the benifits of flaps can be used. cheers
  23. I really wouldn't wory about temps too much 60C is fine. As for the fan, there may be an option in the ATI tool or whatever it is to have it on all the time not sure, as i haven't used ATI for a long time. head over to a hardware forum like http://www.guru3d.com n use their forums to get help if you still need it. cheers
  24. try doin a search for SLI in these forums. i have personally tried many times and had no luck at all, same results as you. Some people have got it working, but i really don't know. Just one of those things i guess. cheers
  25. Best way to do it that i found, is to obviously read it each section before you do it. Then if you can find an old laptop or similar to sit next to you with the manual open. This is what i did and it work well. Cheers
