Im runing norton firewall/antivirus and done a few tests with them on/off and i found absolutely no difference in the results for those concerned with it holding your smoothness back. cheers

Either card is good, but if your already have a 6800, why do you want to spend that much money on goin up one step? Surely wait a while and let the market stablise from the recent release of 7800GTX cards and then decide what you want to do, i don't think the difference between a 6800 and a GT will be worth $300 right now

I would be checking the temps of your gpu, you would have got nvidia monitor with your MB probably or use the temp monitor, right click on the desktop and then go to properties/settings/advanced/6800GT then look for temperature. It shouldn't be over 75-80 on load. Uninstall your drivers, then use driver cleaner or something like that and reinstall the latest official nvidia drivers from their site. I usually do a disk clean up and defrag too just to keep it all nice n tidy. hope it helps, cheers

I must be lucky, i got the download no problems, its basically the same interface as the previous versions, same graphics options. The addon menu is the same, but it has a uninstall all button, which will be very handy. I haven't got/need any addons for flamming cliffs, so i haven't tried it out. Im assuming the only major change is the compatability with 1.1 What can i say, 1.1 in perfect. Loman 4 will be a very usefull tool none the less. Oh also when it first loads at comes up with the games to select it has Flamming Cliffs and Lockon, allowing for seperate installs and tweeks. Very handy for people running both versions. Cheers

I haven't got two GT's yet i have only been testing with my brother gt when he hasn't been home. Wont buy the second gt for a while, as i only have a 17"crt so there isn't much point till i get a new screen that can do a higher res. Cheers

I just gave them a go, with the A-10track ir track and the su-25t hunt track I used fraps and tested the same both ways and there was only 0.2fps difference between the 77.13 and the new 76.62. So its really not worth changing over. Basically no difference in IQ either in lockon.

Is it just me or is nvidia having beta version leaked almost every week? Deffinetly not complaining!

I fly the F-15 a fair bit, and i too really struggle to tell if the speed break is out or not. I find the best way is to either jump to the outside view to quickly check or look at you airspeed. You should be able to tell that way, coz if your spd brake is out and your full throttle but still not goin far, your speed indicates that its out. But definately easier to check outside. Best fix would to be able to use trackir 3 with full vector support, thus allowing us to move our heads forward and down a bit. cheers

If your after insight to nvidia SLI ask dutch60, he has dual ultras and an fx-55, runing 1.1 at max settings/vis med i think, with 4aa and 8af.......wait for it 1600*1200!!!! And most of the time very playable frames. I think he has mentioned once or twice that he has in some cases droped down a resolution in heavy missions. But generally at 1600*1200. There is a thread created by him with several screen shots off his system at these settings, rather incredible. Cheers

I have used FSauto start a while back but didn't notice an overall increase in performance, are you guys getting much out of these two methods? Is flying more smooth now or is the tweaks barely noticable? cheers

Hi, I was just wondering if this was possible, i noticed one of the tutorials, posibly shepski, can't remember, was saying radio commands and they were coming up on the screen, was he using a mic and voice recognition or does he just like talking like that? If he was using voice recognition, i would love to know how did he do it? Cheers

I find this too, mainly because i have the view fairly zoomed out, but then i can't see they information i need on the radar/hud and the other things. Its an annoying problem but it is what it is i guess. U just need to zoom in a fair bit to see the info u want. cheers

Yeah dying happens on the regular for me to, but i generally either start a new pilot or reset the campaign/try another one. As long as the log keeps a record of how many deaths it wouldn't be too bad. Would have no idea if it can be done or not though. Im sure someone will be able to tell you. cheers

Title speaks for itself, is it worth the money and where is the best place to get it? I got my pro throttle from provantage.com and they have the pedals for $88 but shipping for me is $54 Would you guys buy these pedals first or continue to save for a second GT? Hard question thats why i need your input. cheers

You could always try not to die! Isn't that the challenge when goin through a campaign? Well it is for me anyway, if i can do an entire campaign without dying then ive succeeded in my goal. It is realistic after all. I think ED needs to have a message or something when you get medels and die, so you actually know how your tracking without goin into the log book all the time, before they impliment a button to reactivate your player. cheers

I think something like this has been done before but wasn't stickied. 1. complete the voice over tutorials would be great. 2. Increase flares/chaff for the eagle Thats all really i don't know enough about the HOJ and the real characteristics of the aim-120 to ask for the preformance to be increased. I say ED have a short break after this patch comes out and get stuck into their new title whatever that may be. cheers

I thought that if you were running a low end system it might have some bearing on it, but that not exactely what i call low end :-) could be a corrupt download, try downloading it again. Hopefully you have a fast connection. took me over 3hours to get it down! Also ensure your windows in fully up to date. I have no idea how starforce works or why it isn't working for you.

Im currently using my throttle on my FF2 for zoom and haven't had any problems at all. Hope you get it sorted out. cheers

Wow thats sucks mate. Whats your systems specs just for the record? if it was me i would be tempted to re-format coz lockon is basically the only sim i use so if it aint working im not happy!
