  1. I read through this thread today and didn't notice any official comment from ED. I been flying DCS since its inception from the original Flanker series. I've built several computers over the years to match the hardware resource-hungry simulations of today. Today, I have a strong system; an i7 8700K overclocked to 5.3ghz, 32gb DDR4 RAM, a 1080Ti SC, and an ultrafast Samsung M.2 PCIE SSD. During the rollout of 2.5 beta, I had a solid 60 FPS displayed on my 60hz 4K monitor at all times with deferred shading off. With Deferred shading on, as is the only option ion 2.5.1, I have noticed and experienced many of the same things as you: 1) Image detail quality went from what I would describe as "Immersive" to "Cartoon-like." 2) FPS down 15 FPS, consistently (25% decrease) 3) There is no balance between cockpit color/lighting, and the outside world. Each is either too light/too dark. No "Sweet spot." 4) Same observation 5) Same observation 6) Stutter and delay when changing views very prominent. 7) With the very unrealistic lighting effects courtesy of deferred shading, the painted A-10C appears to have a chrome-like shine at different angles. 8) Kind of a rough situation to be releasing the F/A-18C into?

    INS

    Is the INS working yet?
  4. My saved games folder does not contain this file
  5. When I attempt to attach the dcs.log, states *Inavalid file* I attached both to my One Drive: https://1drv.ms/f/s!AmLTEDnJTQBAgaIo4zM9DkyGeVWFPw
  6. My 4k Monitor's refresh rate is 60FPS
  7. Here you go (Attached). DxDiag.txt
  8. I’ll attach those tonight when I get home. However, I’ve never had issues prior to 2.5 and 2.5.1. My CPU is solid and temps always in the 50c range during high-moderate loads. I’ve noticed several others report similar performance issues. 1.5.8 is solid with consistent 60FPS.
  9. I’m hoping with the update including the F/A-18C comes improvements to performance.
  10. I've noticed a significant loss of performance under certain situations in both versions 2.5 and 2.5.1, such as the TGP being turned on, etc. causing FPS tp drop from 60 to 45 with accompanying stutters. This is with both SLI on, and with it off. I'm at sort of a loss due to having a very high-end computer: 8700K @ 5.3ghz, 32GB DDR4, and (1) or (2) 1080Ti's depending if I'm using SLI or not. Sometimes with the TGP or Maverick seeker on, the FPS makes its way back up to 60, until I fly with the sun in view, then it will drop back to 45. I've always been able to manage a solid 60 FPS under any/all circumstances with maxed out setting and even rear view mirrors on. This problem, notably, is with deferred shading both on and off. I'd characterize it as a frequently inconsistent FPS. I've noticed quite a few people posting similar circumstances.
  11. What are your SLI settings? I have sli set up in 2.5.1, when I go into 2.5 release, my fps gets cut in half to 30. I’m at a loss...
  12. Did today’s update #1 resolve the cloud flicker those using SLI were reporting??
  13. Set up SLI to your tutorial. FPS is back to 60...awesome! No TGP flicker, but yeah those cloud flickers are very bad!
  14. Shaders recereated, same results.
  15. I’m going to give SLI another try today. What are the correct compatibility bit settings so there is no cloud/TGP flickering in 2.5.1?
  16. Confirming no TGP flickering? If so I’m sold.
  17. I will try it out.
  18. How do I do that?
  19. How do I do that again?
  20. I’ve tried every profile, setup, etc for years and will tell you this: Not only does SLI NOT improve your DCS performance, many developers including Nvidia have pretty much put SLI on the shelf. I’m not dismissing your work. I’ve been through the same thing. I’ve purchased two 1080 Ti’s and after tireless work, one of them is inside the box as a spare in case the other takes a dump. This research was done using DCS, Prepar3d V4, Ghost Recon, etc. Games are soooooo much smoother using one single X16 PCIE lane instead of two 8x PCIE lanes. I garuntee you with an SLI profile that works for you, if you go on the TGP, AI objects will flicker.
  21. I’m seeing a solid and consistent 10-15 loss in FPS. My test is Batumi, daylight, no weather, no AI, A-10C. I’m assuming related to deferred shading.
  22. I have a high-end system (5.3ghz 8700k, 32gb ddr4, 1080 Ti SC). With 1.5.8 and 2.5, I had a solid 60 FPS under any circumstance. With the locked-in deferred shading, MSAA has been cut in half from 8 to 4 (lots of jaggies) ???? and my FPS has dropped 10-15. Not smooth, stutters, messy performance. The shadows look sooooo bad I had to turn them off. They went from awesome immersion in earlier 1.5 versions, to being an annoying distraction in 2.5 through 2.5.1. Not sure the reason, as there was a menu to select shadow options. I’d recommend putting the ‘Very high’ and ‘Ultra’ options for shadows back in. Let the individual user choose the higher quality shadows. I don’t know what’s up with deffered shading, but at times during flight it looks like someone is shining a 3,000 lumen spotlight into the cockpit, complemented with the most overtly jagged shadows I’ve ever seen in a sim. Does not look realistic, looks messy and almost cartoonish. One good thing...the explosions look great!
