[RESOLVED]annoying ground load micro pauses -SOLVED
Sn8ke replied to adrianstealth's topic in Game Performance Bugs
I have inadvertently rid DCS 1.5.4 beta of the stuttering you attribute to "Loading pauses." I've been using a 4K g-sync monitor, with an older Nvidia driver which g-sync works with. G-sync is broken and does not work with most drivers. The ones that work are few and far in between. For me 353.06 was working well. With G-sync on and vsync off, I was recently experiencing the microstutters. I decided a few days ago to update my drivers to the most current. Gsync of course does not work with the latest drivers. I turned on vsync, and noticed right away no more micro stutters. Sli is working great with a solid 60FPS refresh rate. -
Just updating to the latest nvidia driver which g-sync does not work with (Of course). Turned on vsync and crossing my fingers; appears stuttering, if still present, has not been noticeable.
-
Please have the stuttering addressed. 4.9ghz i7 4790 and two Titan X's with horendous stuttering. Was smooth as silk with a solid 60 FPS even with cockpit mirrors pre 1.5.3

I ripped out SLI - sold one card already.

I've done numerous test. The only difference you will notice NOT using SLi is you will loose about 7-12 FPS. -
[RESOLVED]annoying ground load micro pauses -SOLVED
Sn8ke replied to adrianstealth's topic in Game Performance Bugs
adrianstealth, I agree this may be an issue related t detail loading. I have the same problem. I have a 4K G-SYNC monitor with a high end computer; i7 4790 @ 4.9ghz, two Titan X's in SLi, 16 GB RAM with an SSD. My setup is proportional in hardware, bottle-necking would not be the issue. My settings are maxed out, although civ traffic is off, bushes and clutter to far left, tree draw distance to far left. I would describe the micro stutters I consistently observe as subtle, brief, yet noticeable. For example, When at about 5,000 feet, I'll look out the canopy of my A-10C. I'll follow a reference point; a tree or building, from the front canopy until it is out of view behind my canopy. Ill notice within that brief period of time about 4-5 stutters. During multiplayer, the stutter is about twice as noticeable. In an attempt to reduce the stuttering, I've adjusted settings. In particular, I set shadows to medium, terrain load distance to half, water to low...guess what...it still has micro stutters. Can we confirm this is possibly EDGE related, or somehow related to recent updates, and a fix may happen in the near future? Food for thought, I do not have the same issue in NTTR. Issue is replicated in an un-modded vanilla install if release version 1.5.3. -
I was wondering if the developers could chime in on the issue of stuttering. Like I've posted before, stuttering is most prevalent in 1.5.4; in 2.0 its almost non existent. 1.5.4 I'm showing 60 FPS, however when I look at the terrain while flying I get subtle stutters which I did not have a problem with 3-4 updates ago. Is this just a beta issue which will eventually be resolved? Its especially bad in multiplayer. My system is high-end so there really isn't much hardware limitation on my end. As SLi is concerned, the stuttering is still present, if not worse, when SLi is turned off. I deactivate all my background programs including antivirus.

Running i7 4790 @ 4.9ghz, 16gb DDR3, (2) Titans (SLi). Sim WAS running smooth as silk until recent updates. 1.5.4 beta and 1.5.3 release version have steady subtle stuttering in single player and very well pronounced stuttering in multiplayer. It's not an SLi issue, I have ran this sim with SLi working for quite awhile without issue. The stuttering in multiplayer is almost unplayable.
-
I don't know whats worse; stuttering on SLI or without SLI. Its definately not SLi related; I been using the SLi NVI profiles for sometime with no issues. Recent 1.5.3 to 1.5.4 updates have been when the stuttering issue started
-
So did some testing; barely noticeable 1.5.3 if just normal stutter from terrain features (trees/buildings). 1.5.4 beta single player, almost a constant rhythmic stutter, multiplayer very pronounced. I use G sync, not V sync, with SLi, SLi NVI profile is set to the correct settings for SLi.
-
Yes indeed, EVGA Precision
-
I have increased my RAM to 16gb, just forget to update my signature. I have SLi on, I haven't had stuttering issues in previous versions, but would not be surprised if this is somehow SLi related.
-
I'm currently using Gsync with vsync off; experiencing micro stutters in 1.5.4. I'm thinking it's worth a shot to try your settings with just traditional vsync.
-
I do as well, however the stutters, which occur about every 5 seconds for about 1/4 seconds, are noticeable.
-
When G sync works in game, it works well, however G sync seems to pick and choose which Nvidia driver it works well with. I'm not 100% sure if my g sync is working properly; I get constant micro-stutters. For those of you with flawless G sync performance, what is the best Nvidia driver to use? Thanks!
-
May I ask which driver you are using? Reason I ask is because I use gsync as well, however gsync likes to pic and choose which driver it will actually work with.
-
I can confirm I am having the same issue; VR mouse tab unchecked, however 'Enable VR Headset" is checked, when I unchecked, screen goes black. In game, Track IR moves at incorrect angles and does not have the same freedom of movement.

Did some experimenting. It is the transition between translational lift and forward flight where the aircraft gets "Squirrely." Beautiful model, should be fun after learning to fly.

Precision Guided Munitions issues (1.5.3)
Sn8ke replied to Sn8ke's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Well I did some trial and error. It seems for me at least I have to set an individual markpoint for each target I drop a GBU-10-12 on. If I do this now, I get direct hits. Prior, a general target area way point was sufficient. I will do additional testing today to make sure the dbu-12's have not assumed the gbu-38's control logic. -
Thanks for the reply. My G-sync has been working most of the time; I did some reading, and it is more than likely an issue with Nvidia's drivers and not DCS. I'm using Nvidia driver 353.06, which I found g-sync works 95% of the time. The newer drivers...good luck getting g-sync working. My performance with 1.5.3 is insanely smooth so far.

I'm starting my own squadron, which emphasizes all of the above. 74th Virtual Fighter Squadron - Flying Tigers. I'm trying to gather a pool or mature, responsible virtual pilots who are A-10C systems and weapons capable. For now on the server will be listed as 74th VFS Open Server, TeamSpeak drago.no-ip.org, no password (For now). I been running the lastest Operation Bactria, which of all mission is the closest to real world A-10C missions. The mission is so far 1.5.3 stable other than a building or two apparently being impervious to bombs.

Operation Bactria (MP COOP 14), Afghanistan CAS
Sn8ke replied to Habu23's topic in User Created Missions General
So far my only issue is the building not destroying during the insurgent leader mission. My bombs even killed the near by Ural trucks. Orbitted for 5-7 mins, still nothing. I'd just fly to the IP for the next mission. -
Precision Guided Munitions issues (1.5.3)
Sn8ke posted a topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Since the latest update, my precision guided munitions; GBU-38/GBU-12, rarely hit their mark. I've used these several times. I noticed the TGP laser has a difficult time lasing targets now, such as structures, etc. I'm not sure is this is a realism update or not. I used to be able to designate a laser in a target with the lightning pod, and would be able to tell the laser had a good spot because it would not budge. Others experiencing the same? -
This is the log from when I updated this morning...1.5.2 to 1.5.3 File is compressed autoupdate_log_old.rar
-
Will do...where can I find those?
