  1. I can't wait to fly in this cockpit!
  2. I was curious as to which graphics settings are processed via CPU vs. GPU. I.E. water, civilian road traffic, trees, clutter/bushes, etc. And mirrors
  3. When this is complete, will it be uploaded to the "User-files" section?
  4. I love the aircraft, best representation of the Huey available on any simulation in my opinion. Granted it is in beta, I believe all that is needed is some fine adjustments in the flight dynamics modelling. I did not even notice the model inaccuracies detailed by the author of the originating post, so it wouldn't even matter to me.
  5. Trimming the helicopter is absolutely essential. After trial and error, you will find a "sweet spot" position of the cyclic for takeoff. This is a trimmed position that will require virtually no cyclic movement and just applied pressures as you add collective and left pedal. I couldn't even take off four days ago, and learning how to trim I can now hover, land, hover taxi, etc.
  6. I did some testing today to test the effectiveness of SLI vs single GPU. My graphics setting are maxed out minus: civilian traffic, low water, cockpit mirrors, tree draw distance minimal. CPU is a core i7 2600K @ 4.6GHZ. Monitor: 1920 X 1080 large lcd full 1080P. Test was performed on a "taxing" campaign mission loaded with AI. Both test the aircraft overflew the same portions of the city at same speed and altitude. Test one Single 580 GTX 1.5gb: Avg: 42.188 - Min: 33 - Max: 62 Test two SLI 580 GTX 1.5gb: Avg: 59.368 - Min: 48 - Max: 63
  7. Your CPU does not have the power to run this sim. You need at least a 1155 2600k core i7, which can oc to 4.6ghz just fine
  8. I have the TM HOTAS Warthog stick and throttle. I know the UH-1H is in beta, and must say this helicopter is eccentrically difficult to fly. When I take off, to just do a pre-takeoff hover check requires almost full left pedal and extreme aft cyclic movement. The cockpit seams to vibrate greatly when coming out of translational lift. Other than that the bird is beautiful and I'm getting addicted to it!
  9. I experienced the same exact thing. I went so far as to delete and reinstall the missions as well as a clean install if the SL mod, neither fixed the issue. As far as I know, the missions were created with a great deal of sophisticated triggers etc., I'm sure something is out of whack after the update.
  10. Some missions like the separatist group have odd script behavior after the update etc, not sure if this has to do with how the SL mod interacts with the new update?
  11. cancel that, I narrowed it down to my video card...it was artifacts. RMA!
  12. I did the auto-updater and after i did a test flight, i noticed a graphical oddity on or around the a-10. I could best describe it as a semi-transparent dark great line the emits sometimes from the TGP pod or the ECM pod to the ground, this has been visible both inside and outside the cockpit. Also have seen the line far from the aircraft usually vertically from the ground to the sky. I have also seen bright pink dots that quickly pop up the disappear when looking around. I uninstalled everything including the saved games folders and existing DCS folder, did a fresh install via torrent, and the same problem is still there. See my signature for system info. Latest drivers installed
  13. Just auto updated to 1.2.4, been observing weird dark transparent graphical oddities coming from the a-10, and sometimes when i jettison flares, i see a quick flare in front of me. never had problems like this before
  14. I figured its best for those with multi monitors. I have maxed out settings minus civilian traffic and trees, and I get 60 fps under most conditions. If it dips below 60 is is most likely because the cpu is being taxed, not the gpu. The titan does sound good though!
  15. Thanks for the input! We have the same mobo, and I have the core i7 2600k, 4.6ghz. I'm very happy with the 589gtx, I have 60 fps under most conditions. I just had to RMA my second card, and although my replacement card should arrive next week, I thought it would be worth it to do some product research on the latest and greatest video cards. $1k is alot for a card that will just make it slightly smoother during complex campaigns.
  16. I know flight sims are largely CPU intensive, however video cards do have a role in smooth gameplay. Are there any titan users out there? If so did it make a huge difference on DCS when you switched to the card?

    SLI

I've searched through and could not find a definitive answer. I have been running DCS with (2) EVGA 580 GTX's in SLi for awhile. Unfortunately, one of them took a dump and died today. While I revert to the single 580, should I expect a performance hit? I have a 4.6 ghz core i7, and a single monitor at 1920 x 1080. Thanks for your input!
  18. Rest in Peace brother
  19. Any updates?
  20. I have been practicing without success with curves for pitch and roll of first 15 then 20. I would make connects that would last only a second or two. It just didn't feel right, and then fact that the curves were present made it more difficult I believe. Why? less responsive control I think will induce over-corrections and cause the pilot to add too much anticipation in control movements. I just tried with all curves at zero, and connected with a near empty tank, and filled it with one connection. FYI, I have the TM Warthog HOTAS. Also, I believe the key is how to manipulate the throttle with small quick adjustments. I'm always in a close formation flight but always slowing and increasing speed.
  21. Another method, my preferred method, is to designate markpoints via TGP about 20 miles out, then arm mavs, and wait to get within range. Just cycle between markpoints with each engagement. I believe this is the best way because I find myself engaging multiple targets with my maverick engagement.
  22. It will come out when Ricardo is done with it.
  23. Simply the most photo-real virtual cockpit I have ever seen.
  24. I think it would be a good idea if when Ricardo is done with his project, the cockpit is integrated with an update so that the user can choose between the default "clean" cockpit or his HD "weathered" cockpit in the options menu.
  25. Looks spectacular! Keep taking your time and get it done right. Your work gives the cockpit a more lively, realistic look of an aircraft that is constantly flown.
