  1. Just as a general question, I know the Navy had "Red Crown" as its PIRAZ call sign. Did the USAF have something similar?
  2. They recognized the Air Vehicle with superior engineering and quality manufacturing in the Phabulous Phantom
  3. I think the -E is a perfect first release. Jack of all trades (bomb truck, CAS, DEAD, CAP, Intercept, others). And the later release of a USN/USMC module which should have better BVR/BFM capabilities. If you buy the -E and find out you don't really like A/A in the bird then you don't buy the Navy variant, but if you find you want a better edge at A/A then you buy it. There is also the cultural side of things, significantly more -E models were made and exported to every freedom loving country we could force to buy them.
  4. When you're talking about strictly flying, the fourth gen win hands down. You almost have to try to kill yourself with FBW. And that simplicity allows you to spend more time heads down working on the MFDs. Talking about role responsibility, the F-4 pilot seat should be pretty equivalent to the F-14 pilot seat. Once you develop a good "Heads down scan" and can read all your instruments quickly and resume eyes forward flight, flying third gen becomes just as easy as flying fourth gen. My 2 cents on the matter. Oddly enough I see the phantom and F15E having pretty much the same role in the game upon release. "Locate targets, employ massive amounts of ordnance to delete targets, move on to the next one"
  5. Whats the DOC number on that one?
  6. That should be it. Those charts should show Mils based on dive angle, Velocity, and Altitude for all ordnance.
  7. I cannot find the F-4 publication. I have the A-6A tactical pocket guide but I dont think that'll help out in this instance. There is a Military Manual Index website thats hard to navigate but you might be able to find the manual number in there.
  8. nullGive me a real challenge, I'll have 66 feet to spare
  9. we are getting dangerously close to sounding like we have a lisp.
  10. See you're using cigarettes, I am using a crack-pipe. Full brakes, maybe even leave it in chocks while im getting to max burner. Ive got faith in the Phantom.
  11. How long is it going to take us to align our INS?
  12. I am fairly confident that an F-4E can launch CAT 5 with minimal fuel and ordnance. Ill even test it when we get the module.
  13. I was more of making the point that its going to be an uphill struggle at first to learn some tactics in our new plane in a few months.
  14. I see this happening a lot to our beloved phantoms in a few months
  15. Im assuming theyre just reusing assets, but im fairly certain the USMC doesnt operate the F15E
  16. (I UNDERSTAND ITS NOT AN F15E I DONT CARE) I could drop some ordnance in this stylish livery.
  17. Im torn between screaming: LIGHT THE BEACONS, WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN NEWS. and muttering: Master has given dobby news. Not sure which one I am going for yet it is a surprise, but a welcome one.
  18. No Coding here. 405 Not allowed
  19. Actually I'd say a thread for it is a good way to keep it out of those other threads where people are trying to learn about STR and other dynamic properties without opinions being thrown in.
  20. You sir are playing with fire. This could get heated very quickly.
  21. I really want to recreate the opening scene from this video where the phantom shoots down 2 Tomcats and then rolls over the Mig
  22. I've definitely been babied by the Hornet so it'll be a learning curve for me. But as the pilot not having to work the A/A radar will be a nice bit for me.
  23. Lots of negativity and unfounded speculation in here, lets get back to Phantom love. If you want to complain about delays there are other posts for that.
