I know my wife would kill me if I spent all of Christmas morning learning to fly the Phantom.

I'm tellin ya. Its just going to appear on the market one day and that's it. No other release videos. It'll be pure chaos. It's also probably going to be Christmas morning, so while the kids run to the tree for presents we run to the computer to start downloading.

I don't think the cold war was really fought anywhere, so why shouldn't they use all the maps available?

Might be off topic, but I didnt think the Phantom ever had a Launchbar. I thought it had a Bridal system for its entire life. I could be wrong for the S/N as my knowledge of them is limited. The E is missing those Bridal connection points. But for the sake of the game and implementation I dont see a problem with a stand in "Carrier Launch System" that just makes it compatible with existing carriers, but I dont think that would be a critical path to release.

I know the launch envelope issue has been brought forward a million times for the AIM-7 WRT its atrocious hit rate. So I am very curious to see how the missile will perform when the ROE doesn't require the pilot to verify the target before launching. IIRC on the Fighter Pilot Podcast EP 106 the guest was talking about the AIM4 and how it worked perfectly in the environment its designed for (Large, non-moving target, at higher altitude). I'm sure there are a million studies that could probably be quoted at me, but from what I've read about the weapons systems of the Vietnam Conflict and the ROE for USAF/USN pilots, these are the opinions I have formed. Good Documentary about Sidewinder development.

I think it would be a good contender for the 3rd Phantom they talked about making. First one is -E second one is unknown, most likely a USN/USMC variant in a few years and the final one could be something like the terminator. I think a modern Phantom would be awesome.

I think they should have no announcement. Just drop the module in the store and let word of mouth get out that its in the store. Just drop and dip, watch the community implode.
