  1. I don't know if anyone has been having this issue or if it's a me problem
  2. I see. So is it a straight 3D model replacement or did you actually change the code too?
I explained to him that CH does not work for Eagle Dynamics and therefore doesn't have access to the ballistic missile preset files (flight parameters, trajectory, etc) and that he instead has to resort to modifying the flight parameters of cruise missiles. Cruise missiles in DCS, as we know, have a ceiling; anything beyond that limit and I don't think it'll work correctly.
  4. I assume this is AI-only; you, as a player, cannot use the LRASM, JASSM, or AARGM-ER on official ED aircraft.
  5. Understood. Let me know whenever possible. And yes, come to think of it, I'll just do the eight Flight ii VLS-equipped boats.
  6. I ran into a problem where after changing the number on the sail/conning tower, the textures I put on the conning tower are now mirrored onto the diving plane.
  7. Yeah, I've been told it's a pretty repetitive process - best of luck with everything and just remember that the DCS Community applauds you for your dedication. You and Currenthill DOMINATE the DCS AI unit modding "market." Thank you for your service. On a separate note, I am about to do liveries for the 688-class submarine. Based on what I found on Wikipedia, the first 31 boats (SSN-618 to SSN-718) lack the VLS cells found in subsequent iterations. The 3D model you have resembles Flight ii with the VLS cells; 8 boats were made. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Providence_(SSN-719) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Pittsburgh_(SSN-720) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Chicago_(SSN-721) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Key_West_(SSN-722) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Oklahoma_City_(SSN-723) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Louisville_(SSN-724) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Helena_(SSN-725) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Newport_News_(SSN-750) The hull numbers 726 to 749 were set aside for the Ohio-class SSBN, which at the time, had a proposed production run of 24 boats; only 18 of them were made so the hull numbers 744-749 are not used by any American submarine at all. The last 23 boats are 688 improved; the most visible change is that the diving planes are bow-mounted and retractable. I have never served a day in any military unlike you so I hope you or someone with more insight into this matter can correct me if I'm wrong. Do you want me to just do the 8 Flight ii boats, or do you want me to do all 62 boats of the class? I'm ok either way and I've got time.
  8. I completely understand - I too talk to Currenthill regularly (real talented and dedicated). He would probably be inclined to agree that DCS ships are complicated, especially with so many VLS cells. So yes, I look forward to seeing these ships in DCS soon but do take your time and do whatever it takes to make sure you get everything right. Best of luck.
  9. Yes, I believe he posted screenshots of a Flight 1 Arleigh Burke a couple of years ago. I mean Admiral189 is very busy and has a MASSIVE backlog - he definitely has his work cut out for him, and I don't blame him one bit if all these ships he's promised in the past are years away from release.
  10. On a quick note, do you plan on adding versions of the HMMWV without soldiers aboard them? They'd make great static props as part of a FOB's motorpool.
  11. I think I have an explanation. CH is the initials for Confoederatio Helvetica, which is another name for the country of Switzerland. CH is also the initials for Currenthill, hence the mixup here.
  12. Watching this video, I was this near to instinctively pressing F6 on my keyboard to see where the missile flies. Thank you for everything.
  13. These models also need to be rigged, animated, and game-ready, or at the very least, have subcomponents you can easily separate and move around.
  14. Honestly, something like this would be dope but there aren't a whole lot of decent 3D models out there that Currenthill can use.
  15. I mean the AIR-2 Genie was a thing - a nuclear-tipped unguided air-launched rocket for wiping out large Soviet bomber formations.
  16. This would be an interesting addition although Currenthill focuses on modern military equipment (late 20th century onwards).
  17. To my knowledge, Currenthill is the only person who has cracked the code with SAMs acting crazy and ruining all the thrust-vectoring missiles after the F-4 Phantom update; he hasn't yet been able to address the messed-up ballistic missiles but that's beside the point. For now, though, for those who know little about computer programming, all we can do is offer our support and continue to do so.
  18. This has been an issue since the F-4 Phantom dropped - everything just broke and Currenthill is trying to come up with a fix.
  19. This is why Currenthill deserves so much credit. And let's face it - these 3D models aren't cheap, and all the programming and texturing work takes time. We value you as a generous contributor to the DCS community, and speaking of which, I'm going to donate to https://ko-fi.com/currenthill.
  20. It doesn't need a radar. You just need to position the unit close to a coastline where you can draw a straight line to the target ship
  21. Yes, I will. However, you don't seem to be able to receive messages. Might want to check your forum account settings
  22. Sounds great - I look forward to seeing your work.
  23. I could upload the stuff on https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/ but I will have to ask @Admiral189 for permission - he might want to have a look for himself.
  24. That's brilliant. Wait, I thought the RIM-162 denotes the Evolved Sea Sparrow missile, basically a new missile as opposed to the RIM-7 Sea Sparrow as seen during the Cold War.
  25. I have been working on some new textures for the Type 23 frigate, FREMM, and USS Sacramento with slightly improved resolution and waterline markings that align on both sides of the ships. If you are interested, I can send you the files.
