  1. While we're talking about the An-12 and its textures, I'd like to throw in a request for the Shaanxi Y-8, a reverse-engineered copy of the An-12. Refer to the images below (source: Wikimedia Commons), as well as some kind of vismod to make the aircraft resemble the Shaanxi Y-9 (upgraded Shaanxi Y-8 with western avionics and ELINT/SIGINT equipment depending on variant)
  2. I personally cannot wait for FRAM II to be released. These ships would be quite at home in various Cold War scenarios, even though most FRAM cans are Allen M. Sumner and Gearing-class ships (there were only 3 FRAM II Fletchers); your stuff would still do just fine as stand-ins after a bit of retexturing. Thank you once again.
  3. No, thank you very much for turning these ideas into reality for us. We greatly admire your contributions, as always, which is why we donate and contribute wherever possible. Even with how tight money is on my end, I continue to contribute. It's a small price to pay in the grand scheme of things, and I encourage people to do the same.
  4. The Mi-28 - a surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one. Also, are you planning on adding tracked IFVs for the Russian military asset mod pack, such as the BMP-3 and BMD-4? The models used in the base game are quite old, and lack the detailing found on more recent ED vehicles, let alone your stuff.
  5. Wow, thank you for everything that you do. Never expected a Z-10 from China, but again, we can tell that you've been quite busy, keeping us hooked. Best of luck with everything.
  6. Speaking of helicopters, I feel like DCS is sorely lacking in helicopters, particularly when it comes to European types like the NH90, Eurocopter Tiger, Westland Lynx, Eurocopter EC-145, AS365 Dauphin, AgustaWestland AW101, and many, many, more. However, since we're talking about American helicopters, it's worth noting that the MH-60R is still around and available for download on the UH-60L Discord server, but the types I'd like to bring up are the UH-1Y Venom/Super Huey, AH-1Z Viper/Zulu Cobra, and even something like the MQ-8B/C Fire Scout and UH-72 Lakota, which is a license-built derivative of the Eurocopter EC-145. 3D models are expensive, so I'll be finding time (and) funds to donate to Currenthill in the coming weeks and months. Let's help him help us.
  7. Whichever way you cut it, with the aircraft in a paywall along with your other non-DCS projects (that people looking for your Su-57 may not necessarily be interested in), it still results in people having to pay a monthly subscription to gain access to the Su-57's download link. I admire the work that you do, and I respect the things that you do, but something just doesn't sit right. Nevertheless, I think that it is up to forum admins and ED staff to determine whether what you're doing is allowed or not.
  8. It took me a while to figure it out but is this an ikv 91?
  9. While I don't have any information on CH's long-term plans after the maintenance updates, such as whether he'll work on a new country or expand an existing pack, I agree with you on seeing further development of the Turkish military asset pack. The Turkish Armed Forces operate a lot of interesting equipment, and there's a good number of 3D models out there of said equipment. Then again, these 3D models aren't cheap - I'd be surprised if you can find anything that fits the bill (split components and subgroups, high-poly, animated, rigged, and game-ready) for 100 dollars or below. https://free3d.com/3d-model/t129-atak-green-helicopter-rigged-395.html https://3dmodels.org/turkish-army/ https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3d-model-hisar-a-air-defense-system-hava-savunma-sistemi-3d-model-2087182
  10. Some of these ships are available on the first page of this thread, but a lot of them have since been taken down - Admiral189 plans to rework some of them and re-release them sometime in the future. AFAIK he doesn't really have any deadlines, so nobody knows when they'll become available.
  11. Yeah, that thing is a behemoth. The next heaviest modern MBTs in service are the M1A2 SEPv3 and Leopard 2A8, both weighing in at around 67 metric tons, and those things have 1500 hp.
  12. I was just going to bring that up - maybe given more time and resources to modify your existing 3D model, I think it'd make sense to add an up-armored variant, with reactive armor tiles along the skirts over the road wheels, slat armor around the turret bustle and engine compartment, a remote-controlled 7.62 NATO FN MAG machine gun turret, a platform atop the turret (with antennas that can reportedly jam remotely-detonated weapons), and ECM equipment on the forward fenders. 13. This is nothing short of brilliant - keep up the excellent work! But yeah, the Ajax is just one of those procurement programs that you just can't explain away. There is, however, a decent-looking 3D model of the Ajax/Scout SV for 90 USD (approx. 82 EUR or 942 SEK) with separable components (doors, hatches, gun barrel, etc,) and a partial interior. https://free3d.com/3d-model/ajax-scout-sv-3162.html
  14. This looks like what they've been doing since the Ukraine invasion - chaining a Tor vehicle to the helipads of their Project 22160 OPVs.
  15. I see - this is absolutely brilliant, and I wish you all the best. Thanks once again for everything - I know my computer is out of commission, but I'll be back.
  16. Thank you for all the time, investment, effort, and dedication. As for the Giraffe radar, would you be reusing the UndE 23 as seen in Swedish military service, or does the British Army use a different variant?
  17. I think that's the iLauncher, part of the Sky Sabre/Land Ceptor SAM system used by the British Army.
  18. Indeed - I have been talking with CH behind the scenes now and again on his Discord, and I think we should all be extremely grateful to have Currenthill as part of our community and the leader and the Gold Standard when it comes to DCS AI vehicle mods. We love you for what you do. On another note, my PC is undergoing repairs and will be out of action until the month's end at the very least. Still, I'll be around.
  19. Thanks for the reference material - unfortunately, my PC has been having issues lately. I will, however, transfer my files to someplace else for distribution by @Admiral189 whenever he is ready.
  20. Another thing worth noting is that I haven't found a whole lot of decent or up-to-date reference photos of the ex-USNS Andrew J Higgins in Chilean service. I'll be doing a little more research into that, and I might share the collection on the User Files part of the official website when I have time.
  21. I hope you are doing well. I have been working on some liveries for the Henry J Kaiser-class oilers, and at this point, I'm trying to work out the ICS callsign flags used by each ship of the class. As things stand, I've finished with all the hull numbers and stern markings for every ship of the class in addition to the one sold to Chile (ex. USNS Andrew J. Higgins).
  22. Why this topic isn't getting more attention is frankly beyond me. I get it, DCS is centered around combat aircraft but here's a fun fact - Aircraft have been used pretty extensively in anti-submarine warfare pretty much since the start of WW1, but even if ED tells us they're focusing on jet fighters and helicopter gunships, there is nothing wrong at all with branching out. The way things stand, Currenthill and Admiral189 (shoutout to them) are the best we have and the best we will ever get when it comes to AI assets like ships and whatnot - they're forced to work within the limits of what ED is willing to let people do. Everything also breaks whenever ED drops an update, and fixing these 3rd party AI mods will be an uphill battle going forward as everything they can use as reference points is encrypted over 9000 times and seven ways to Sunday. I'm not an expert here but if ED lifted the limits on modifying their stuff and declassified their missile flight parameters to allow for more complex weapons systems (submarine-launched anti-ship missiles, actual ballistic missiles, anti-submarine warfare beyond just strafing a submarine after waiting for it to surface, naval guns with guided ammunition, etc), I'd guarantee you that within a few weeks, we'd have everything OP and @Northstar98 have talked about and then some because the community stepped in. ED doesn't even have to make any 3D models or implement anything new, but it does look like they won't do either (declassify their missile flight parameters or implement new game features) seeing as they're intent on protecting their IP or something, thus locking away a whole world of new possibilities.
  23. Thank you for your dedication - we appreciate the work that you do for the DCS Community. So if and when you get around to releasing the USS Fitzgerald (and other Flight 1 Arleigh Burke DDGs), will you do a version fitted with Harpoon missiles and another version with the Naval Strike Missiles? Speaking of Harpoons replaced with Naval Strike Missiles, I am not sure if this is something you plan on doing too (see below picture) but either way, best of luck with your back surgery and we hope to hear from you again soon.
  24. https://www.dvidshub.net/video/931592/uss-fitzgerald-fires-first-naval-strike-missile https://twitter.com/SurfaceWarriors/status/1816153978918347126 https://www.twz.com/sea/navy-destroyer-modified-with-naval-strike-missiles-sailing-in-rimpac-wargames The other week at RIMPAC 2024, DDG-62 fired a Naval Strike Missile. @Admiral189 it looks like a lot has changed since you retired from the US Navy but this would be an interesting addition for near-future scenarios. Wikipedia says the NSM is also capable of engaging targets on land. Source: @surfacewarriors on Twitter
  25. I believe I've been having a similar problem with how ships launch anti-ship missiles - I've had to go into the Database files, go through the Navy and Sensor folders and make it so that the ranges of the anti-ship missiles match up with all the radars; for instance, Type 054B's YJ-12 has a range of 300 kilometers, which perfectly matches with the detection ranges of its onboard radars and sensors. I've replicated this for the majority of Currenthill's ships which partially fixes the problem but leaves much to be desired.
