Chinese Landing Ship by MingGe(Updated)
HighMaintenanceB replied to cao990's topic in Static/AI Mods for DCS World
Happy New Year. I'd like to ask how progress is coming along with this mod - it's got a lot of promise and I hope we can see a finished product. Thanks as always for making these contributions and I hope to hear from you and your team soon. -
Thank you, much appreciated.

Sorry, I can't access the link.

I agree - this mod has so much promise and it'd be such a shame if the rest of us in the community can't have our fun. Sadly, I don't have a copy of the mod, so I second @OrdinaryPilot's motion.

Starting a mission with already-destroyed buildings
HighMaintenanceB replied to HighMaintenanceB's topic in Mission Editor
Thanks, guys, for the advice. I was out of town earlier today so I've just now managed to get back to my computer. I'll keep you posted.- 4 replies

For immersion reasons, I'd like to make it so that when I start playing a mission, some buildings are already pre-destroyed if you will, or otherwise set on fire. The alternative appears to mean using AI or something to blow up the buildings I wanna blow up before I start flying (or driving since I have Combined Arms). Any advice on what sort of trigger zone to use, what lines of code I must enter, and where?

Military Assets for DCS by Currenthill
HighMaintenanceB replied to currenthill's topic in Static/AI Mods for DCS World
As long as you send the 3D model of the launcher(s), command/support vehicle(s), missile(s), and relevant items, Currenthill will (hopefully) do the rest when he has time. -

This is awesome! After the Tu-160, I'll try to find you some PLA helicopters and other PLA equipment, and send you some money in the coming weeks. That said, what are your thoughts on Turkish military equipment like the Altay tank, FNSS infantry fighting vehicle, Kaplan, and BMC185 4x4 truck? -

I deleted the individual mods to save on storage space so that's what I'd go with. Try at your own risk. -

This is awesome! I also see some wing-mounted pylons, so that's a first at least for DCS. -
ADMIRAL189'S CORNER - INCOMING SHIP MODELS
HighMaintenanceB replied to Admiral189's topic in Static/AI Mods for DCS World
Hi, @Admiral189, hope your health has improved. We enjoy your Type 23 frigates and I've been working on more liveries and hull numbers. One thing I've noticed about how your ships launch SAMs (not just the Type 23 but in general) is that half of the missiles would self-destruct mid-air before the others fire off properly to intercept the targets. Is this something to do with the ECM burn-through? I've heard Currenthill mention this mechanic before but I'm not entirely sure about how to work around this. If there's a way to work around this, please let me know. Whether it's a line of code I must alter or whether people will have to reprogram the missile LUA file entirely, I hope to hear from you and others with significant DCS modding experience. Thanks for everything. -

In my opinion, I'm willing to give Urbi the benefit of the doubt. Urbi's profile says he/she's based in Germany, and from my experience with former classmates and colleagues who are German, they have had a no-nonsense way of doing things, meaning they don't sugarcoat, telling things as-is. Whether that's socially acceptable in other countries or translates well to how we go about things speaking English is another conversation for some other time. And yes, I have seen some of his livery and texture jobs - he's done brilliantly and we shouldn't so easily overlook his inputs to the DCS modding scene. All that said, however, I think you guys should talk to a forum moderator if you feel this is a problem. As for me, I'm here to enjoy DCS World mods from Currenthill (and I'll shoutout Admiral189 for his new Type 23 frigates - go check it out). Have a good one and I hope you guys can smooth things over. -

Iran doesn't operate the KA-52 but a fictional livery would certainly be interesting to see. -

This is epic. I was about to ask about a variant or liveries for the Egyptian Navy but only the Russian K variant of the KA-52 has rotors and stub wings that fold. -

Beautiful! Do you want me to find you a 3D model of one with the Spike LR missile launcher for a future release? -

HighMaintenanceB replied to Admiral189's topic in Static/AI Mods for DCS World
Hi Admiral, Please take it easy and take all the time you need to recover - we enjoy your content very much and we look forward to the updates and new ships. That said, you should prioritize your health over DCS modding and you ought to take good care of yourself. Good luck with rehab and once again, thank you for everything. I hope you can find support and resources from the VA if your health problems are service-related. -

What I did to find out which mods caused conflicts was moving each mod (except for Currenthill's stuff) into a separate folder. I then reinstalled the mods, two at a time, started DCS, did some tests with the mission editor, exited, installed another two mods, and repeated the whole process As soon as a conflict or bug happened, I'd know which mod caused the problem. It's a time-consuming process but it works. -

Norinco PCL-181 - this is epic. -
I know that the official Discord was shut down by admins a few days after the terrorist attacks against Israel, so I want to know if we'll be receiving future updates to the IDF mods, and whether announcements about F-16I updates, FA-18D development progress, F-15I updates, Iron Dome updates, and David's Sling updates, etc will be made on the forum instead.

I'm excited - also, seeing as the MTVR truck is in use by 4 other countries, might you be open to making a standalone MTVR truck, as well as a static M777 artillery emplacement? I can't think of a whole lot of militaries other than the USMC that use the M777 artillery piece and MTVR trucks together in this capacity.
