  1. Did you guys check dust as well? It seems the same or similar issue. Once you set the dust to visibility to 300m while at Damascus (approx. 1000m MSL) it looks like this:
  2. edit: testing environment: new mission file with the default conditions no wind mid day etc shark was INU alignment forced with hot start no fix pint taking needed. hot ground start addition: I’ve also noticed a error message on the abris on hot start where it has not coordinate data available for approx 10s. Although this might be a different issue it should not compromise the test because the Abris will still calibrate on your position if the aircraft hasn’t moved (not in flight). hope to hear from you soon. it would be lovely if we could get this to work again.
  3. Hello @Hobel ive done more thorough testing and from what it looks it’s an issue with the maps instead of the airframe. In caucasus the auto slew was pretty much on point, in Syria although the laser seemed to center on the NavTgt the ranging was pretty much off (I’m talking km instead of m) and in AFG it’s completely off. I haven’t tested Sinai, Kola or the others. E I was a little surprised that it worked on caucasus. Initially I thought it was because of the distance to the equator that the coordinate input was a pilots error but the coordinates where taken out of the abris. Of course I did change to DDMM.MM instead of the standard DDMMSS. ive recorded a video but would have to edit it in order for you to not watch 30min. Still it is a problem that you can replicate with any mission. My original miz file is a blank terrain file that is auto loaded when first creating a mission from scratch. I’d you do want to see the video - I will sit down this weekend and edit it to cut out unnecessary stuff. best regards
  4. this might have worked a couple of patch cycles earlier. what to expect: A. designation of any NavTGT either via shkval method I-251V or fly over through on board sensors lets you save points of interest that you can slew to automatically. B. Designating of a NavTGT via the PVI-800 creates a point of interest as would the A. method but instead of using onboard sensors, the point would be dropped directly into the Abris as per coordinate information. Both methods create NavTGT with the same functionality as A. the result: A. Auto slew works fine. B. No slew at all or with a large offset. (No alignment and fixtaking method required) although my standby SAI might have been offset I’ve tested this multiple times over the course of weeks. Even hopping into fresh helos. The shkval was never able to slew to the NavTGT if entered via coordinates. It didn’t matter if the ingress to target was selected or not. My assumption is that this is as bug, or is it working for you with certainty? Let me know if I missed to speak a spell before slewing or something else.
  5. Thanks for the hint. From what I understand this is something that has to be updated each patch in order to get it to work does it? It might be a temporary solution but ED should totally be able to put it in the base game without delaying anything that is worked on currently.
  6. Inspired by the blue grey livery used for export and Russian models:
  7. Dear ED, the shark is a fairly old module and still missing keybinds that could make the flying experience way more immersive. So please let a Dev add those couple of lines and we could have a better cockpit experience, that is more on par with the Apache when it comes to fidelity. these are missing; 1. axis dial for shkval tv contrast and brightness 2. axis dial for hud brightness 3. anti col. Light on 4. anti col light off 5. same for roto tip light 6. DL power switch on, off (currently both on the same bind) 7. I-251 method fly over, shkval method (currently same bind) 8. Nav light are 3 stages, would be nice to have at least a separate on, off bind (or a up/down) 9. Same as 8 for formation light. those come to my mind and it’s not that one would hardly ever use them, instead you need those on every single flight. So please Ed, don’t forget about us and dedicate 30 min of dev time to this issue and fix it. please everyone add to this if something comes to mind that also needs some binds.
  8. Hey mate here might be something. Altitude director and bars are indicating the initial altitude when the hold was turned on. I’m pretty solid that they don’t show vertical separation to the steering point, even if the route mode is on. To be fair, I usually don’t have the route mode set due to INU inaccuracy so I might be wrong. the dimond on the course band indicates trimmed course not necessarily desired, or when nav/waypoint is activated the desired course. So it’s a conditional display. well done keep the work up in the shark. It’s the best helo in DCS wool woop.
  9. Anything that would have Redfor style helos being more competitive in a modern scenario is very appreciated. I know availability and so but still, I hope that ED is at least aware of this problem.
  10. Hey thanks for the reply. I’ve played around a lot with the system as well and might have a different fix. It’s not 100% tested but on the latest run I was able to get the following to work: 2 Vehicle (M1) have troops (T1) embarked from the start. they drive to a site perform a random task and T1 are disembarking - immediately after T1 disembark, M1 go into a 3min hold. T1 now perform their task. 2 vehicle (M2) now pick up T1 instead of M1. Basically having troops embark and disembark into the same group was not possible for me but they can be picked up by a different group. This isn’t bad to be honest but a little counter intuitive. Try it out yourself and let me know how it works for you - it should be easier for the mission builders this way.
  11. @Daemoc Hey mate, Im trying exatctly the same. Really struggeling with the unreliable system. Did you get anywhere? Currently there are more then 20h spend on the mission and it still isnt working as intended.
  12. It is August 2024 and this issue persists. There is still a strong drift happening without heavy maneuver after about 10 min - leading up to a point where it becomes useless to use NavTGT points. Even with the option in the ME “no alignment and fix point taking needed” the standby ADI has strong drift after a while. @Flappiecan you update us un the issue? edit: Ok i have to peddle back a little. It is after all highly dependent on your speed and holds up more accurate if more from static firing positions then running fire attacks. Still perhaps its over done a litte? The option in the ME to deactivate alignment and fixtaing needed, should in my opinion eliminate drift as well. Its a gamey thing anyways to have that option - there should be no reason to have the system not eliminating nav error when checked.
  13. Hello mate! You have just found a way to get in touch We do not share any discord link to the squadron directly - as we are a small and familiar group and a little more selective. Other then that, just send me a friend request over at discord (username: mortalmando) if you are interested in what we do or have questions. See you there!
  14. Hello mate. It’s probably nothing that I can answer with real certainty because it depends on a lot of factors. We do train DEAD in multiship as well so some sites can be managed. There is of course multilayered system so called IADS but to make it short: yes we are used to engageing SAM sites with the mi24. For the future we would love to build a SU25 wing embedded within the company but that’s a little later down the line. Both combined, helos and SU25s would be a blast.
  15. Hello, after the latest patch we have got the authenticity issue on the dedicated server. Tried the cmd line to update to the dcs release version. Still the same result - so the authentication issue persists. What else can I do? I haven’t tried a repair and didn’t see a reason for it but I can for sure try that tomorrow.
  16. On the way through the snowy landscape of the caucus mountains.
  17. Thanks for taking the time and testing. Are there any reports on the igla damage? It seems to be very underperforming as well. Judging from PvP I remember hitting a hornet 3x and this thing still flying. I will do some testing and show the problem if this is not a known issue atm.
  18. After a recent patch a lot of issues were fixed without being addressed. Do you guys still have that problem?
  19. Recently I changed GPU to a 4090 and resolution + monitor to 4k. Although there is still a lag it is less noticeable. On some servers it seems to be a larger issue then on others. Although the initial video I posted to showcase the issue didnt have any units on the map.
  20. Im pretty sure it has something to do with the cooldown on the laser. It would be awesome if there would be some documentation from ED to see exactly how it is intended to be working. Also there is a issue with rippling off 2 Karens. 1 of the missles loses track and hits the ground on a regular basis (I wouldnt say always but very consistently, there was never a situation where both hit the target that I observed). Its a little like looking into a crystal ball never sure what behaviour is intended.
  21. Hey mate, much appreciated. We do what we can to show how interesting helo ops can be
  22. Never saw that before. Is there some combat damage causing the Abris RAM to fail?
  23. Please consider axis commands for shkval contrast and brightness. edit: nav-, formation-, anti coll-, blade tip lights are mission keybinds. Currently it’s one button with a on/off behavior. I would like to see either up, down or on - off with 2 buttons. That would be great guys.
