Carrier captain turning the carrier into the wind on takeoff/landing

I used to be an air controller on Navy ships Navy ships don't just turn into the wind Those are all very planned events Navy ships don't just jump up on a whim and turn In most cases those are actually planned events for the entire battle group long before the ships even gets underway Sometimes months as scheduled in the OP ORDER The only thing that actually changes is the direction of the wind And they'll adjust the OP PLAN for that accordingly at that time So I suggest planning your routes on your ships determining when they're going to turn into the wind and when they're going to reposition and respot and recover aircraft so they can turn back into the wind and do it again That is the way they actually do air ops on the ship -

It works perfectly every time I use it in all of my missions Because it just doesn't seem to be realistic to have an airport without a bunch of plane sitting around doing nothing Plus the fact that you can always start it later so it will take off and do something But it just plain looks better than a static planes Set the plane to uncontrolled Set it to start in the mission editor Set a trigger for it to delay x number of seconds Select for that group to start The plane will take off and do whatever you assigned it to do But it won't happen at the mission store it'll happen later in the mission -
I have messed with scripting and moves for probably a couple weeks now I've come to realize though that most of what I want to do I can do with the triggers without using either one I'm not really interested in randomization so that pretty much eliminates almost all of the stuff in the scripts My thought is that AI in the game is going to do all the randomization that I need And it's really not randomizing me anyway because you know what what to expect somewhere Just a little thought before you spend weeks But it does help you to understand what some of the code being used And how to alter that if you want to

When I put my uncontrolled aircraft on a carrier They always spawn on the six pack first I would like to see if we can get them to spawn at the other parking spaces instead That would fill the deck up more make it more chaotic like it should be

And don't be silly I would never intentionally download mods to make Russian forces stronger My name isn't comfortable I have no intention to make it works no longer I like to keep them this weak as possible I didn't think to look at the clock I'm not home right now I can't look right now And I said I thought it might be the historical clock but after thinking about it it is not the clock Because my carrier is loaded so do my f-18s -

It's not a mod problem because I don't have those mods

I don't have any of those mods I haven't added any mods since I updated used to work doesn't work anymore I think I'm just going to go ahead and go back to the last update and write this one off I'm not really crazy about all these updates anyway I'd much rather just have one big update instead of a thousand small ones But I really don't think it's mod problem

This has happened since the last update I've never had this problem before until now And also another nagging problem that I've been having when I do an update I'm finding that the AI aircraft will not land on the carrier after the update So I wind up having to redo the entire mission Which is very annoying -

Actually disappearing isn't the right word It's more about when I set up the mission and the f-18 is in player mode The red forces do not start in the mission they don't come up unless they're already airborne So they won't take off from the runway it won't take off from the ramp they don't show up I'll have to see if I can upload that file My missions are typically very big and they do and I do not use static forces And also since I have your attention I can't set a time and late activation It always reverts back to mission start -

Well Hmmm I operate two businesses I'm not going to bother buying anything a PA system for crying out loud To Play this game I simply don't have time for that And I'm not interested in making time for it -
My red air forces which were previously in the mission they disappear After I assign player mode to the f-18 I've done some testing and that is the situation that comes up in probably causes many of the other problems that people are reporting Because I've noticed for instance if I add red forces after I assign the f-18 to player A lot of illogical things start to occur

That's because I was in the navy on aircraft carrier And also because I live next to the airport in Omaha I've noticed a couple things The civilian Jets are not as loud as the Air Force planes that land here The Air Force planes and all the military planes are generally twice as loud as the civilian planes When they fly over my house they can rattle my windows So they may be three times as loud as a civilian plane So if it's not too much trouble maybe you can make a planes much much louder

I would like to be able to put a hold command on AI aircraft Hello and answer our capability of being able to launch Sprint since like a alert five package As an example You could also enhance like explosions on bases and ships It would be a terrific capability and wouldn't take that much to do it because everything else already has hold command in the perform task drop down

I don't really use the game for flying that much Seems very tedious I don't care for it that much I use it more for ship warfare and operations because that's what I did in the Navy

I think what razo Plus or is saying that then only works on PC Mobile apps don't offer search on DCS world I'm trying to find a mobile app that mimics my PC I haven't found one yet I used to have some that did that But they were Chinese so I suspect there's been a change in law But in short mobile apps very often cut a lot of data if you compare that same website to your PC -
Why you know me I'm a little like cougar on top gun when he thought he was going to crash their plane when he landed So I need all the help I can get I made the lights brighter so I can see them further

I tweaked mine to 20 x And I tweaked the luminance to 7.5 and the size to 2.5 seems to work good that way

Somebody notified me up a fix for this If you go into the downloads of the user files Change your category to search to "other" Artus light fix will fix this problem Unfortunately you will need to change it in the game files itself I don't know if you're crazy about that but I did and it worked out okay You will be able to do night traps And foul weather which is my personal favorite

Airboss station doesn't allow us to pilot the plane

There's nothing to confuse over I just don't find the Airboss station is being relevant It doesn't do anything other than turning on the lights or maybe turning the ship But I don't think we needed to be an actual player to do that It Prevent us from flying the airplane when we select the air boss in the mission planner -
Carrier BRC should always be -13 degrees off of the ship's nose Because that is the angle of the angle deck And that is what determines the runway on the ship The runway heading on the ship is always -13 degrees off of the ship's bow The problem with the BRC being incorrect it will not allow f18 to capture the ACLS Because the AI controller always calls the boc 1° off of the ship's head So when you try and fly that BRC you don't line up with runway properly and you cannot catch the ILS or the glideslope properly Which means you can't use the ACLS because of it but in addition to that Your plane comes in at the wrong angle so you don't catch the runway properly either This seems like something that's easy to fix Also something that I've noticed and I think this is related to that Right after I call platform In the air I controller confirms the platform My data link information disappears It's also prevents the airplane from being able to capture ACLS I think it's related to the other issue Look at that point the aircraft is actually far off the actual BRC that it should be on to capture the glide slope and ILS Hope we can fix this soon along with brightening the lights you need to brighten the lights on a super carrier you can't see it until it's too late

I'm just saying I am a retired operation specialist in the Navy I have done this job as Alpha Sierra in the past For whatever Alpha Sierra means To you To the Navy it means surface warfare coordinator I know how it all works I'm just saying this is a game and some of the stuff in it isn't correct But I find some of it very annoying I also think a better use of the Airboss station would be actually Parking spaces for the aircraft ourselves Using every single tie down as a possible place to park in aircraft which would include on the bow or on the stern or wherever Transferring that into the Airbus station would be much better than steering ship but making Airbus station not an actual player would allow us to actually fly the airplanes
