    Ok I see, doubling the gpu workload would be too much, I’m already GPU bound in some occasions. Not sure about DLSS, I’ve tried it and while it increases FPS it also reduces clarity, which makes it a bit pointless to upgrade to 4k in the first place…

    Currently locked at 100fps and get them most of the time, anyway I never go below 60fps even in complex maps and scenarios with heavy modules. New monitor would be 60Hz 4k, so as long as I’d get a steady 60fps I would be happy. However I’m not sure I could achieve it in maps like cold war Germany when flying around cities at low level with a heavy module like the CH47.

    Hello! I’m currently running dcs on a 27in flat screen in QHD (2560x1440). I would like to get a 32in 4k screen for better clarity, particularly in cockpit labels, instruments, MFDs etc. How much of a performance impact can I expect moving up in resolution? I like to play with settings maxed out, If the impact is too big then I’ll stick with my current screen, don’t wanna get into stuttering and FPS jumping up and down. By any means, is there a way I can force the system to believe I’m using 4k on my QHD screen before I actually buy a new monitor? For reference my system is a 9800x3d with 5080 and 96gb ram. I’m also a bit worried about running 4k textures with 16gb memory on the 5080. Thanks!

    Thanks for the detailed report, great analysis! However I believe flight model shouldn’t be just about matching numbers and performance sheets; it should also be about feeling the aircraft, giving a sense of weight and inertia and “floating” in the air. We can have a 100% performance accurate plane which still feels artificial to fly. I really hope the devs can address this aspect as well.

    Al “senza peso” mi riferivo alla sensazione che mi ha dato il mig21, sempre sviluppato dallo stesso team, non al Corsair che non ho mai provato. Se mi dici che non lo trovi male come dinamiche tanto meglio, ripeto che è un modulo che mi interessa moltissimo e mi piacerebbe prenderlo, ma ho paura di restare deluso.

    Mi é sempre piaciuto l’F4U e vorrei prenderlo, ma non sono convinto del modello di volo, leggendo il forum internazionale non è che ne parlino benissimo. C’è anche un video dove si vede fare manovre degne di un extra 330…non so a pelo non mi convince. Ho provato il mig21 sempre pubblicato da loro e le dinamiche proprio no-go per quanto mi riguarda, sembra “senza peso”, e ho paura che con l’F4u siamo sulla stessa barca. Aggiungiamo poi il sound mediocre e altri bug…mi spiace cavolo perché l’aereo in sè è davvero bello e vorrei svolazzarci un pò!

    - tra la 9070 e la 9070xt la differenza di prezzo è veramente bassa. - la 9070xt ha prestazioni di un 10-15% superiori alla non-xt. - le versioni OC dalla fabbrica non danno problemi. - la 5070ti si trova a 150-200€ in più della 9070xt. - le prestazioni tra la 9070xt e la 5070ti sono simili; a volte prevale una a volte l’altra; questo al netto di DLSS4 vs FSR4 / prestazioni in VR / ray tracing, che probabilmente sono migliori su nvidia, ma da valutare quanto importanti nel proprio caso. - le 5070ti non prendono fuoco. Comunque, per rispondere alla richiesta originale di rob s, ossia usare DCS in QHD, personalmente prenderei la 9070xt.

    Thank you LucShep! Unfortunately 4080s are very difficult to find where I live…and as expensive if not more than a 5080. Maybe as Aapje suggested I’ll wait a couple of months and see if prices start to drop back to normal…otherwise I’ll get a 9070xt. Still running on a gtx1080 right now…served me well for almost 8 years. That was good value for money!

    Hi, after several years I’m finally planning to get a new rig, mostly for playing DCS world and MSFS24. I’m a bit unsure on which graphic card to get. I wanted to get a 5080 but prices are well above MSRP, and for a lot less money I could get a 9070xt or 7900xtx. From benchmarks there’s not a huge difference with the 5080. 7900xtx is older gen, no FSR 4 support (maybe in the future), but it has slightly more raw power and 24GB memory. 9070xt is new gen, FSR 4 support (not sure how this would eventually look in DCS, once supported), but less raw power and 16GB. Benchmarks for the two cards are almost identical, but I’m planning to upgrade to a 4k screen and I was thinking 24gb might be better for DCS. Both are similarly priced. Or should I just pay more and get the 5080? Thanks!

    Beh, evidentemente si buttano su quello che preferisce la maggioranza; per carità sarà anche una super macchina l’F35…ma non lo trovo particolarmente affascinante…praticamente sarà come simulare un computer stando davanti al computer… quantomeno saranno felici gli home cockpit builders…un bel monitor touch screen e potremo avere tutti la replica 1:1 di un vero cockpit! ( nel dubbio: sono ironico - è veramente triste). Io che aspettavo qualcosa sul 104, g91, skyraider…ero anche speranzoso su un piccolo accenno di mig23, questo mi sa che ormai è defunto definitivamente…

    +1 same here, F5 remastered is now unplayable, hope it gets fixed soon.

    Non è che l’antivirus ti ha cancellato/messo in quarantena qualche file? So che a volte si verifica questo problema, devi escludere DCS dall’antivirus e ripristinare eventuali file. Prova a dare un’occhiata!

    Se non è un errore di installazione, alcune livree sono specifiche per fazione, forse non le vedi per quello. Dovresti provare ad utilizzare combined blue o red forces e vedere se ti compaiono.

    You know what's funny? It is still in early access...after all this time. Bought it as well many years ago, was hoping for some updates and a damage model...but I do still enjoy flying it once in a while.

    Yes but the real F15 stick is much longer than a TM warthog, unless you’re using an extension. Leaving the default settings will feel very different depending on the length of your stick, with curves you can “simulate” having a longer stick…

    where are you based? it seems to be available on aerosoft but I’m not sure if they deliver outside of Europe.

    Hi, 1440p requires a bit more performance but I think it’s worth it, there’s a noticeable improvement in definition especially on bigger monitors. I tried 1080 and 1440 side by side on 27” as I had the same doubt. I run on a gtx1080, not sure how it compares to a 3060ti, but FPS are good on mine.
