Will bump this, I'd like to see a Razorback. Surely it wouldn't be too much to do one. I'd happily pay a modest fee for it, like the F-5 remaster.
-
Think I've just experienced this. Climbing, all temps within norms, engine just quit on me without warning. Trk file enclosed. Hopefully this can be addressed soon as it's something that makes the module almost unflyable, if people are having unpredictable engine failures. LastMissionTrack.trk

These are absolutely flawless, all of them. And should be included in the default Viper skins. Superb work.
-
Will try and sort a track file for you shortly, I'll have another attempt soon, Many thanks. I have about 40 hours on the Viper, according to the logbook. I do have a lot of modules and fly a lot of different things.
-
Brilliant campaign. Just brilliant. Well designed, well scripted, superb voice acting, challenging without being frustrating. Just the right balance and a good advert for not having to AAR in the Viper, as I can't AAR full stop haha. But once again, brilliant work. Looking forward to the next weasels camapign.

I've never been able to sucessfully AAR. Never. And I'm not stupid, not new to DCS, not a beginner, I am pretty proficient at it. Except this. And it's a bit irrational but whenever I practice it I get annoyed, frustrated, and a little despondent, like it makes me feel thick when people say stuff like 'oh it's easy' and 'well I can do it no problem'. This goes for all modules capable of AAR, basket and boom, it doesn't matter. I just can't do it. And I have tried to practice A LOT.
-
First, let me preface this by saying all of Reflected's compaigns are brilliant, I own them all, they're a class apart from other paid campaigns, in my opinion. My criticism is about AAR. More specifically, I can't do it. I'm not new to DCS, not a learner, I know what I'm doing, I am reasonably proficient in most of the modules. But it's just too difficult for me. And one thing I'm not a fan of in say the Speed and Angels campaign is the AAR, and the insistence that it be done, or it impacts on the score. I end up skipping the mission to move on to the next one. And it kind of makes me feel like an idiot for not being able to do it. But I accept, that's on me. It's incredibly frustrating and annoying to me when I do set aside time to practice (believe me, I've practiced A LOT over the years) and I can't. Doesn't matter what aircraft. And it puts a dampner on a brilliant campaign, for me. Happy to take criticism/feedback etc, exept if anyone's going to be moronic and say things like 'It's easy' or 'well don't buy the campaign then' just save your breath. Not interested in hearing it. Thanks.

Orion 2 F18 base/stick disconnects randomly!
PluckyUnderdog replied to Evocati443's topic in Winwing
Lol maybe so! They emailed to say they've released new Simapp pro software and could I drop the PayPal dispute if it fixes the issue..... I'm not dropping the case as a week isn't long enough to test this out and plus I have zero faith they've fixed it. Maybe if they advised what the issue is and how they fixed it, I might be inclined to believe them. I do not expect to get anywhere with PayPal tbh but it's about the principle now. -

Of course, I escalated it to PayPal yesterday, apparently Winwing has until the 8th to respond. But I'll post in here what the outcome is. -

PluckyUnderdog replied to Evocati443's topic in Winwing
Yeah they said that to me too, to give them 'more time'. No, sorry. This issue has been happening to people for a couple of years now, by the looks of it. And they show no sign of addressing it. So I've escalated it. I should've bit the bullet and paid a little more for Virpil stuff, in hindsight. But that's on me, I've learned my lesson the hard way. -

Update, it happened this evening. I'm escalating the case to paypal. I'm not confident they will solve it and I'm not dealing with their customer service as it's terrible. May not get anywhere but I have no other choice really. Will buy from another manufacturer when it comes time to, in future. Had enough. -
Orion 2 F18 base/stick disconnects randomly!
PluckyUnderdog replied to Evocati443's topic in Winwing
It hasn't happened to me for the last 2 weeks now. I don't really get it haha. I've got until the 30th to escalate the case. I'll have a think about what I will do over the next day or two. -

Orion 2 F18 base/stick disconnects randomly!
PluckyUnderdog replied to Evocati443's topic in Winwing
If you wouldn't mind, let me know how you get on. I may buy a 40 or 60W hub if it helps. I have until the 30th to escalate the case to PayPal formally, I am speaking to Winwing through the PayPal resolution centre at the mo. -
Yep. A 10W powered hub, it's a 7 port one, I only have three things plugged into it, the hotas being two of them. It still happens.

Orion 2 F18 base/stick disconnects randomly!
PluckyUnderdog replied to Evocati443's topic in Winwing
Well some of the HID controllers have the option to 'allow the computer to turn it off to save power' greyed out, but it's unticked, and the option is manually unticked on every one I can alter, and also all of the USB options. The issue happened again this evening, the stick disconnected. I changed the power settings and did the device manager stuff with the hotas plugged directly into the PC, and into my 10W powered USB hub (initially thought it was 20W) just to make sure I wasn't missing any USB devices. I'm at the end of my tether tbh. -

I just don't agree mate that a hotas malfunctions and solving it by spending an extra sum of money to get the thing to work is a good thing. Genuinely glad you have solved your own issues with it, really. But it's the principle, as far as I'm concerned. I shouldn't need a hub. It should work fine plugged directly into the motherboard, like all other hotas brands. That's my point. -

Their customer service is dreadful, imo. Unfortunately this is something I realised after buying. As I've said, it's on me that I bought it without doing enough due diligence, so I have to suck it up and deal with it. -

PluckyUnderdog replied to Evocati443's topic in Winwing
Likewise. I'm not buying their stuff again. I'll pay Virpil prices and understand that the higher premium is going to mean far less headaches about stuff that doesn't work as advertised, imo. -

PluckyUnderdog replied to Evocati443's topic in Winwing
I hope it works for you dude. Myself, I'm not satisfied with doing that and think it should work properly, so if nothing else on principle, I'll be escalating the case through PayPal (I bought it through that) and initiating a refund. -
Orion 2 F18 base/stick disconnects randomly!
PluckyUnderdog replied to Evocati443's topic in Winwing
Thanks. Yeah as I say, I don't think it's acceptable. It should work, it shouldn't have these random disconnects. That's on them as a company, it's clearly a firmware issue, or maybe poor optimisation in regards to how much power they draw. But in any case, it's not our job as customers to solve that. -
Orion 2 F18 base/stick disconnects randomly!
PluckyUnderdog replied to Evocati443's topic in Winwing
This is my bugbear too. I've spent £600 on a hotas, I expect it to work. Why should I spend another £50 on a high powered USB hub? No. I do not think that's acceptable, so it's going back. And I'll buy a Virpil hotas. They actually work properly. Yeah I already tried this, was sent it yesterday. It didn't work, and the disconnect still happened, unfortunately. But thanks for the notification. -

PluckyUnderdog replied to Evocati443's topic in Winwing
Yes that's good that you solved it and that works for you. I have a powered USB hub that I think is 20W and it still happens with that. I like their stuff aesthetically but I will be pursuing a refund and staying away from their stuff, personally. It's happened about 7 or 8 times in the 3 months I've had the hotas. Unacceptable for something that cost me around £600. -
Orion 2 F18 base/stick disconnects randomly!
PluckyUnderdog replied to Evocati443's topic in Winwing
Well, I mean you shouldn't need a high wattage USB hub for this to not happen, imo. I had the Warthog hotas for three years and didn't encounter this issue once. I've never heard of it happening with Virpil, for example. This is on Winwing to sort out and them passing the buck on to paying customers is unacceptable. -
Cheers. Yeah I've had it happen a few times since I got the Viper hotas around 3 months ago. Maybe 5 or 6 times. Frustrating, currently trying to resolve it with their support. Hopefully it can be sorted as I like the product, but may need to pursue a refund here as tbh it's not acceptable, it happening so frequently. Again, thanks for the response.
