DCS Server Control
Miles Vorkosigan replied to USSR_Rik's topic in Multiplayer Server Administration
Let me know when you want to stress test it ;) I do hope that someone creates a good tutorial for this new system though. Especially, in my case, running more than once instance and viewing them in the webgui. -
DCS Server Control
Miles Vorkosigan replied to USSR_Rik's topic in Multiplayer Server Administration
Bitmaster, I have the same experience. I found, however, that both servers are indeed running and accessible by a client/player. The webgui will not let me access both to administrate them though. I have a unique port for each, and added a unique webgui port to the autoexec.cfg file as well as a port forward in my router. -
So, I wanted a new set of rudder pedals; my Siatek combat pro set were getting on my final nerve. Then I saw something that made my heart bleep dedey bleep. The new Thrustmaster Pendular Rudder System. Wow, I really liked the way they look....and then I saw the price. And I gulped, gasped, and coughed. 550.00 USD.....ouch. So. I made my own for 20.00 USD :D The black 3D printed bits here and there are mostly housings for heavy duty flange bearings that I had a box of in the shop. More bearings inside the brake pedals to keep things smooth. The center hall effect pivot is a 1/4" bolt with skate bearings supporting it on both sides of the steel arm. This thing is unbelievably smooth and strong. The adjustable springs make it easy for me to dial in the tension that I want from none at all to some type of Russian interwar years experimental biplane experience (think East German Womens weightlifting leg exercise machine) The brake pedals are equally adjustable from tension to the angle position. Took me two weeks to reverse engineer thrustmaster's design and build this but well worth every second. If my own rough work is any indicator of how good the Thrustmaster pedals are, and you can afford them, go get em. This thing is amazing. Started with some pictures of the spendy set, and created a solidworks model to see how to make things fit. Realized that I needed some linear hall effect sensors...so I designed some using a magnet and hall effect IC. Tossed in yet another Teensy ++ 2.0 and kicked it with a touch of MMJOY2. Adjustable throw for the rudder and tensioning system. Total out of pocket? 20.00 USD :Ddid I mention that?! :D I might cannibalize my Saitek combat pro's for the really nice brake pedals and install them on my new rudder system. My pedals look a little crude...but they really do a nice job. Need to think about that for a while.

I stopped flying on AO due to the chaos at Anapa, and to a lessor extent the other air fields. One thing that I always thought might help is to spread out the popular plane spawn locations. Right now most F-18s are spawned at Anapa, as well as the more popular FC3 airframes. This might no longer be true as I said; I no longer fly on AO . They may have changed the spawn locations by now.

River, there was a new update this morning. Probably why.

Did you take it back down? Cannot see it in server list or find it by IP.
-
Erniedaoage, perhaps the ISP is on a blacklist? You might check the IP in google for more information. I believe it is using a VPN so that might trigger some ISPs to block it.
-
I can see it now, seems to work. Jumped into an F-86, everything looks good. Do not have time to play right now but I can confirm that it is working.

No worries, we appreciate it. A possible VPN issue?

Cannot find it either, browser or direct IP

Casual Flyers - light attack aircraft group
Miles Vorkosigan replied to Aries101's topic in Multiplayer
The server is an edited version of The Battle for Georgia. 3rd Generation fighters, Mig21 and F-5E as well as ground attack planes such as the Viggen, C-101, Albatros, SU25. Helis: Huey, KA50, MI8 and the Gazelle. Lots of ground battle, heli missions (sling, rescue, troop drops, ground attack). I am probably forgetting others ;) Did I mention opposing fleets?! YES Shoot the ship with your friends in a Casual manner :D -
Is there a teamspeak or Discord channel for the server?

VR/Non VR setup
Miles Vorkosigan replied to Impailer1974's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
You might be able to create a batch file to edit the control lua file. One for VR one for 2D. I have thought about trying this before but have not gotten around to it yet. -
Just picked up the F-5 and hope to start flying on this server (and donated, it is worth it even if I do not become a server regular). Are there any F-5 casual groups that I might fly with?

Engine RPM jumping to max by itself after coldstart ... bug?
Miles Vorkosigan replied to Frag's topic in DCS: F-5E
My engines had both already been running for a bit. I was messing around with the radio, etc. It jumped when I called (Viacom) for rearming. But if it does happen again I will certainly save a track. It was also on a MP server. -

This happened to me today as well. Only happened once so far but hopefully not again. -
My wife plays Rec Room with me, I too am trying to get her to strap into an F/A-18C...no luck so far. ;)

6DoF is not working for you. That can happen if you start DCS without first starting going into the mixed reality portal. It will ask you to look left, right, down, etc. Hope it is that easy of a fix for you.

Exactly what happened to my rift after I bought the Odyssey. Just installed Skyrim VR, the only reason I connected the Rift again. The Rift is great, I like it, but I do wish I could get extensions to work with my Odyssey (Tried all the various fixes, to no avail).
