Renting a Server !
Miles Vorkosigan replied to sadjad-vosoul's topic in Multiplayer Server Administration
That is what I have already, two as a matter of fact. But I misunderstood you to mean that you have a server class connection, etc. -
It is not just infantry. We have been testing on three different dedicated servers and several different missions, all are the same. It is like the AI sees different enemy from what is there. Mig 15s chase around the sky like they are dog-fighting but the Sabres just fly on by without a care. I have seen Mig 15 formations and Sabre formation happen to fly the same route and it looks like they are flying in formation. Oblivious to one another. This has been happening with any mission that I and another mission maker, have made since the 2.5.6 patch. Dedicated Server PCs: i5 4690K, 16gb, SSD (OS and DCS) no dedicated GPU i5 6600K, 16gb, SSD (OS and DCS) no dedicated GPU My connection to the server PCs are in house so the ping is 1ms We also tried with a dedicated hosted server but I do not have the specs of that machine, etc. My ping was 55ms. log and track file.zip

ElementLT, how do you buy a server? -

Upuaut's Bell-47 2.5.6
Miles Vorkosigan replied to Hawkeye60's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I am wildly excited about this!!! Our 24/7 Public Korea war server (The Forgotten War 1953-1950) has been using the Huey for Medevac but this would be sooo much better. And if ED would incorporate it like it did with the A4E... Thank you Hawkeye60!!! -
Looking for UK/EU based Casual Sqn
Miles Vorkosigan replied to Lyrinx's topic in Squadron Recruiting
Hey Lyrinx, do a search for the BuDs group. Not a squadron; but a good place for pilots to hang out and create pickup games. This or that pilot puts together a mission and advertises it and others join in. I host an F-86F Sabre mission every week, and a 24/7 public Korean War era server (The Forgotten War 1950-1953), other pilots host dedicated servers, campaigns, etc. We had a raffle today and gave away a dozen modules. Great bunch of folks from all over the world. -
Helicopter EFM Demo
Miles Vorkosigan replied to nibbylot's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
I am very excited about this. I want to add the Bell-47G to my Korean War server but it needs files from the KA-50 and breaks the mission for anyone that does not have the mod/KA-50. -
[RESOLVED]Flak not firing in multiplayer - again
Miles Vorkosigan replied to philstyle's topic in Bugs and Problems
I have an older mission that I use on my dedicated server. I have not resaved it with the latest beta and the flak does indeed work well in that mission. -
[RESOLVED]Flak not firing in multiplayer - again
Miles Vorkosigan replied to philstyle's topic in Bugs and Problems
Did more testing today with my dedicated server/PC updated to latest open beta patch. AAA Units: Flak-Vierling 38 8.8cm Flak 18 Bofors 40mm Slow aircraft (Huey UH-1, immortal) Yes they are firing and yes it is only after a long delay. Fast Aircraft (Sabre F-86F, mortal) orbiting above target at 7000 (AGL) One or two AAA emplacements (out of 120, started the test with 12 and bumped it up) start to fire on the Sabre. Not many. Watching the AAA units, they seem unaware of air targets for the most part. Only if the slow aircraft is in their forward view for more than 6-10 seconds do they notice and rotate to fire. So by the time the AAA starts firing your planes are already out of the area. Higher is better as far as having AAA fire near your plane. I have all AAA units facing the line of ingress as well. To sum up, the AAA is firing, but they are really slow to acquire the target. The mortal F-86F Sabre was never hit by flack. -
They are not, but still a great deal of fun. The Caucasus map does work fine, you just have to suspend your disbelief a bit ;)

And then the Rail Depot went BOOOOM....and so did my client. Sorry about that, I will add fewer explody devices under the train next time. I guess 400 gas cans was a bit much....lol. So you bought the F-8F, welcome to the club. I recommend the Korea 1952 server for PvP, great bunch of fliers there. I recommend the Forgotten War 1950-1953 server for PvE, lots to blow up there. And as mentioned above we have custom co-op missions on Saturdays.

Are you saying that Flak38 batteries do work? Thanks -
I agree with r4y30n. The piper is really dim for me and cannot be turned up any brighter but I have not had any issues with it turning off/on.

Looking for some F-86F Sabre buddies
Miles Vorkosigan replied to Miles Vorkosigan's topic in Squadron Recruiting
For anyone that is looking to fly with other F-86F Sabre pilots this little group has grown quite a bit. We have had 7-12 pilots for our Saturday missions. The server is getting more and more people flying on it as well. This is not a squadron, just a place to fly the Sabre with other Sabre pilots. Thanks Breez and Forzamark for helping to get things started. https://discord.gg/C5C3Kw3 -
The Forgotten War 1950-1953 Korea PvE
Miles Vorkosigan replied to Miles Vorkosigan's topic in Multiplayer
The Saturday Co-op games have been a success (other than nose wheel steering issues). 7-12 pilots for the last four weeks running. The server is gearing up for Medevac missions featuring the UH-1 Huey. We do have the Bell-47G flyable mod but cannot use it as it breaks the mission for anyone not using the mod. Thanks to a fellow F-86F Sabre pilot (Dawger) we have a cleaned up mission with lots of PvE and the capability for future improvements. -
Oddly the issue is happening more and more often. Not much fun at all when you have no sound half way through a 10-12 person co-op flight :(

I was kidding my friend. Joking, being farcical. Piratical even.
-
Makes sense, I misunderstood your first post about it. I had thought you meant that you had to run DCS once and then it would show up. I have never tried to look at the SteamVR settings while the game was running.
-
No, I mean the undefended ones. I have already captured the Pandora and it is the base for my pirate fleet! :D
-
I have never seen it listed. Perhaps Baldrick you are using the Steam version of DCS?
