  1. Thanks for reaching out for our thoughts on the terrain textures for the South Atlantic map. It's a significant topic, especially given the current reliance on satellite imagery for this map. I feel the feedback for the map overall has been very mixed, partly due to the lack of textures in some areas. The improvements it's had the last few updates have been significant. While there's no denying the realism brought by high-definition satellite imagery, I believe shifting to synthetic terrain textures could be beneficial. This is particularly true for areas like the Andes, which currently might not fully capture their real-world grandeur. This approach might better serve the overall gameplay experience, especially in intense scenarios — whether that's navigating a Huey on a MEDEVAC through the streets, or dropping JDAM's from the stratosphere. In such moments, the playability and strategic layout of the map are more pivotal than the ultra-realistic depiction of terrain. Focusing on synthetic terrain could also mean more playable areas, which, in my opinion, should be a priority. Enhancing the map's functional design can elevate the gameplay experience, making the South Atlantic map not just visually appealing but also more engaging and versatile for various missions. I appreciate the opportunity to weigh in on this. The South Atlantic map has great potential, and with thoughtful development, it could see increased use and some day servers might do the switch.
  2. Hey mate. No, we haven't disabled GCI, but in 2.9 something happened to the Fog of War, making the GCI display only show up randomly and then disappear. One could say that for now, there's no use in doing GCI.
  3. This seems to have introduced a tracking issue with my Pico 4 on my 4080. After installing this, looking up or down will completely mess up my view. Excuse the quality, original recording was over 50mb. NVIDIA_Share_XzBWOn4x0f.mp4
  4. Happens for T-F page for pilot and in WSO seat for me. Not consistent. Had my first crash due to this yesterday since release.
  5. Do you have your modifiers set as a switch, and not as a modifier? This is a common problem, and i did it myself for a while. It's not mentioned, but what HOTAS do you have? This is a known issue but you don't need to go as far as you are. All you need to do is go into 'Adjust controls' and click in there once then exit. Then it will work.
  6. That's the position you spawn in at, iirc.
  7. The current issue with both the LANTIRN and DCS is that heat signatures aren't really... good. In a scripted mission, most vehicles will spawn in cold, making it very hard to land a track on them. And with the LANTIRN being lackluster in both magnification and IR capabilities, it's a challenge to land any sort of track. But if you land a track, use CDES as it will continously designate the target until you are within rel parameters. The issue with that is that if you somehow lose the track, you're again screwed. This mission: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3331710/ tells you to use guns instead of bombs if you are having trouble tracking the targets
  8. Are you by any chance using "Switches" and not "Modifiers"? IIRC Modifiers look for the "ON" status of the modifier, the Switches only toggle. I know it doesn't look like it, but you actually need to put it in the "Modifiers" section, and not the "Switches" section.
  9. It's a shame this isn't fixed. The campaign seems completely broken for me, only the first mission worked. Is this really what we're paying for? Over 6 months, several confirmations and status questions, no replies? @baltic_dragon i hope you and Razbam can get together on this, atleast confirm you know the issue and that the post isn't completely forgotten. EDIT: As you can see from @StarLiner's post, we are getting ping-ponged between you two. Please talk and give us a reply when possible.
  10. Yes. Every time. Can confirm. It seems to have something to do with modifiers, as i am using the pinky switch as a modifier for the left most screens.
  11. Exactly this. I know i'm not the best pilot, but i am pretty sure everyone has this issue when there's obstacles. At least wait for 2-3 seconds before he says it like the ATT would. Idk where to upload the trackfile so here's a google drive link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/19Dj-lUQ5Rr2nUFX5gdhK8e2eIUx3f9ou/view?usp=sharing
  12. But that doesn't really help, does it? Does your human CP/G shout at you like this?
  13. Hello. I haven't used forums since prob 2007 but this is so absurd i just had to make an account. So the new George reports are fine, but if you are engaging in an area with lots of foliage, get ready for a headache. I do not have a trackfile, but i clipped it and uploaded it. Basically, you recreate either by moving so his vising get obscured by trees or have the target move in an area with high foliage. ED, you need to limit the amount of voice reports George can send.
