  1. Bagram was one of the main bases for the A-10. When I was at Bagram, the Air Force had HH-60 "Pedro", A-10's, and F-16's.
  2. Yeah, I did that for certain planes. I like building the load out and just having them uncontrolled.

  4. Is there any way to change in the LUA for Afghan, mainly Bagram, on what aircraft go where in terms of parking pads? Trying to stick some A-10's where they would go while I was there but it's not letting me and the A-10 doesn't have a Take Off From Ground feature.
  5. So, there are 2 burnt up airframes on FOB Salerno where the tech supply warehouse was back in 2011-2012, I'm sure it was there before and after my time there. The only building that is big enough right now to match what was there in game still isn't big enough to cover them. Ever with a zone over everything for scenery removal, the burnt airframes won't disappear. Any suggestions?

Like @JuiceBox I was also a Blackhawk crew chief that was in Iraq (COB Speicher and FOB Diamonback) during the Surge in 07-09 and twice in Afghanistan; FOB Salerno in '11-'12 and Bagram in '14. I just downloaded the full Afghan map this morning and I'm working on setting up Salerno to the way it was while I was there, before out DFAC got leveled by a VBIED on June 1st 2012. Anyway, would love some missions in the east where I spent my Afghan time. @JuiceBox you need any help, I can give my two cents on what I saw and things around Salerno. @toubey when I was at Salerno, Aco 1-82 Wolfpack would run one loaded rocket pod, one loaded HML rack, and a combo pak in the belly. So, one loaded 19 shot Hydra rocket pod, 4 Hellfire K models, full load of 30mm in the combo pak, about 325ish rounds. They wanted more fuel then rounds. Can always hit a FARP. Salerno was only about mile high in altitude so the 64's had a little bit more power then some places but performance definitely suffered. @JuiceBox you can change the time on Google Earth and go back in time. I have Earth pulled up and I'm looking at the 6/2011 imagery, just a few months before I got there.
  7. Oh, and short Jersey barriers...I see the tall T-walls but not seeing any short ones. Found the Jersey barriers. They are called something else.
  8. Just downloaded the full Afghan map. Took advantage of pre-release and some miles I had. Was looking to see if there were any GWOT hanger mods. I'm mostly looking for the LAMS style shelters. We called the LAMS-A. I'm looking to setup Khost Heliport, even though it should be called FOB Salerno...CHANGE THAT E.D.!!! PUT THE DAMN FOB NAMES ON THERE!! Anyway...Definitely need those LAMS-A's to get Salerno to where it needs to be.

  10. Been looking at the Iraq map lately and I want to get it. The map itself is roughly 111GB. My DCS folder is sitting at 600+GB. The drive I have DCS installed on also has another game on it as well. I currently have 183GB free out of 931GB; it's a 1TB NVMe. I have another 1TB SSD available I can transfer DCS or even my other game to. How hard is it to swap DCS to my open drive without having to completely uninstall it and then having to reinstall all the mods and modules? I'm thinking just dragging and dropping won't end well, unless it's that easy.
  11. I have multiple drives. My OS(C drive) is on one NVMe drive. My games, DCS and Ghost Recon: Breakpoint are on another 1TB NVMe drive. I also have 2 other 1TB SSD's. One stores copies of my mods for both of those games just so I don't have to go find them online again if I need to reinstall any of those mods. Multiple drives are always a good thing. If everything is on one drive and that one fails, you just SOL.

That is definitely Salerno...The DFAC did get leveled when I was there on June 1st 2012 thanks to a VBIED hitting the HESCOs right by it, thanks bad guys for taking away our good food...Don't think I can say the H word most vets use on here Lol That first one is Kabul. Flew into there quite a few times. Here's some Bagram action... I actually just looked at Salerno now on Google Earth, dated 5/29/2024 on the imagery, and man....is it trashed.
  13. I didn't see FOB Diamondback/Marez(Mosul) on the map pic that was posted. Any chance that might come later? That was a major airfield back in OIF. I spent the better part of a year there in OIF 07-09. There were always 3 UH-60L's there. A company of OH-58's. 3 HH-60L's for Army MEDEVAC. 160th was there. Air Force Pedro was there. C-17's IL-76's, C-130's. Definitely need that FOB/airport.
  14. Oh, and no all 4 of them on that flight are dead somehow....I can't describe it. It looked like the circus was in town. They were going all over the place. Couldn't hold altitude for anything. They somehow balled up their aircraft. No words....
  15. Not going to lie, totally forgot about this mission Lol Did some tweaking to the AI and still not right. I even have them as a completely separate flight and they still suck. I have 4 Hornets, each with 8 GBU-32's. I have a bunch of targets set as bombing, blah, blah, blah....They bomb the targets but each pass is one bomb at a time. Takes forever for a bombing run. I've seen the B1 just dump JDAMS on a target but for some reason these ai Hornets can't. One pass, one bomb at a time total until that plane runs out of bombs. Need a JDAM Carpet Bombing option.
  16. I noticed that. Just like the aircraft...For some reason that didn't click in my head. Apparently my brain wasn't working at the moment.
  17. That's what I tried at first to no avail. I've give it a shot again. I do have to find a way to turn the volume up on the sound I have. Once the jet is going it's not loud enough.
  18. I didn't even see where it says that...Yeah, that's what I did basically a time delay from when the unit gets activated till my message goes out.
  19. Anyone know the ammo type the M-109 Paladin fires in game? There's no "Artillery In Zone" option under trigger conditions. Trying to see if it's under missile in zone or bomb in zone or something.
  20. Yeah, I kinda have it figured out, just tweaking it to work right. I have X:COCKPIT ARGUMENT IN RANGE (444, 0.098, 0.12) and then it plays what I want it to play. Couldn't find a way to make it so that the two knobs had to be set right then have what I want play. but, I always turn the power on first then mode. Just wish the KY-58 actually did something in game.

  22. Arg 540 for those anyone interested remove body and helmet on the F-18. This model viewer is cool. I'm going to have some fun with this.
  23. The pilots body, helmet, visor and O2 mask are all in the way of seeing anything Lol Any way to remove that?
  24. I see the LUA file for the clickable cockpit goodies and I see the KY-58 under intercom. Mode, volume, fill, and power are all there. I am assuming it would be something like KY58_PowerSw, and KY58_ModeSw for those 2 switches. I guess the only thing is to figure out which of those values is for the power on and which is cypher mode.
  25. Is there a cockpit param on the F-18C for the KY-58 power select knob and the mode knob? What I'm trying to do is once the KY-58 is powered up, turn on a flag, mode knob goes into cypher, turn on a flag. Once both flags are true, have a sound play for a radio check. Also, is there a place to find these cockpit parameters, a list or something?
