  1. Regardless, 10-15fps is still a considerable gain! What were you expecting? It's been said right from the onset that you should keep your expectations reasonable. MT should improve slightly over time, but then there is also Vulkan and DLSS coming in the future which will bring further improvements. This was an excellent release/implementation from ED. I'm sorry you had your expectations set too high.
  2. Have you tried clearing the environment variables in WMR settings? If using OpenXR with OpenComposite, is it up to date? Have you tried to repair your DCS install?
  3. DLSS and Vulkan will be later.
  4. Good thread/topic. Your post seems consistent with other articles/posts I've read on this. I don't think MT will bring the performance that some people are hoping for, but it seems like it could improve over time. I'm honestly not knowledgeable on this subject though. As I understand (and could be wrong), MT will be enabled via Vulkan in DCS. So I assume that whichever patch brings MT, will have Vulkan in some form or another. If I were to guess though, DLSS will likely come with the full Vulkan implementation (or the graphics side of it). If that even makes sense.
  5. MT was announced long before that. It has been in closed beta testing since at least last November. The F-15E may see pre-release, but I think release is another few months out yet.
  6. My guess is that MT will be in either this delayed patch, or the next. It's been in closed beta testing for quite some time now and like Dragon1-1 mentioned, ED will hit a point where it no longer makes sense to maintain two cores. You also run into a point where you don't get the hardware spread from a test community than you would with general availability (at least open beta). But that might be more applicable to OS software. At the end of the day, it will come when it's ready. Waiting sucks, but this is probably one of the biggest core changes to hit DCS. Good things take time.
  7. Geez theres a lot of whining in here. This is only a pre-release for goodness sake. There was obviously reasons behind the delay, and these things happen. At the end of the day, you'll probably end up with a more refined product and experience. Cut them some slack. For all we know it's a freaking family emergency, and a lot of commenters are here throwing your toys out the crib. Thank you for all you do @RAZBAM, @BIGNEWY and the rest of the ED team.
  8. That's really too bad if true. The G2 is a great headset for the money. My only complaint with the G2 is the headstrap. Having an improved G3 in the $750 to $1000 range would have been nice. Maybe a deeper collaboration with Valve as a Index and G2 replacement, to come in under the Varjo and new Pimax offerings. The next Valve headset looks like it be geared toward Meta, which I really don't care for. That's why most of the other headsets don't appeal to me. I only use for Sims. Not needing base stations is nice too. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk
  9. Oh ok. It just seems like using SteamVR (with a WMR headset) would mitigate any advantage since you have to add another application in the chain. Granted, that's getting outside of my expertise. Unless I'm mistaken though (which could very well be), WMR for SteamVR is still required? But then maybe it's not any different than having/needing OpenXR for WMR...
  10. Is that not available without SteamVR? Sorry, I haven't played around with it much yet. I got OpenXR working with OpenComposite, but didn't do any teaks beyond that.
  11. Why would you use SteamVR with a WMR headset though?
  12. Just got over the 24hr wait period for my first post, but I just joined to give a massive shoutout to @BIGNEWY and @mbucchia. I am super excited to have native OpenXR, despite the bumps in the road. Bugs are easy to deal with, and it was a non issue rolling back to OpenComposite. I know you both probably put a lot of time (even personal time) into finding a resolution for these minor bugs. I've seen a lot frustration and rudeness by community members (not just here), but not much feedback/support to help the situation. So again, just a big thank you to you folks and and the surprise native OpenXR support. Very much appreciated.
