F-22A Raptor mod enhancement mod
Archangel44 replied to Nightstorm's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Damn, I really like flying the F22. I hope it gets fixed soon. -
ED should take the “Scotty” route on Star trek. Tell Captain Kirk that it will take two days to get the warp engines back online, knowing that it will take 18 hours to get it done. Commander Scott knows if all goes well, success can come sooner but knows that glitches can arise so he extends the time frame to accommodate these glitches. Now, if he can get things running under the time frame, he’s a miracle worker, if not and he completes his task with his sublime timeframe, he kept his word. ED optimistically puts in a time frame, particularly ignoring the glitches which causes these unwanted delays. However, this is not Star Trek and people’s lives are not on the line but psychologically speaking, the results are the same. When one group sets a goal and date to reach this goal and falls short, people on the receiving end think about the same. Just my humble take on things. If you like or don’t like what I say, ask me if I care.

JAS 39C Gripen Community Mod
Archangel44 replied to whisky.actual's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
I’m curious, What’s up with the Jiff gun? Bullets fall short? The sound it makes? Weak damage? Low fire rate? All of the above and maybe more? Just curious.- 489 replies

JAS 39C Gripen Community Mod
Archangel44 replied to whisky.actual's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Well, that doesn't surprise me. The PRC can't seem to copy things well and I'll hold it right there as I can go on and on about many things the Chineese govt can't and won't do well.- 489 replies

JAS 39C Gripen Community Mod
Archangel44 replied to whisky.actual's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Well cool. I reckon when the J-17 goes on sale, I’ll get it just so I can fly the Gripen with no issues. Thank you.- 489 replies

JAS 39C Gripen Community Mod
Archangel44 replied to whisky.actual's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Yes, very similar things happened when I played with the Mod installed. If I recall correctly, one must have the J-17 Module in their game in order for the Gripen to work correctly and not cause other bugs like carriers disappearing and munitions not detonating or not track correctly. I too love flying the Gripen, it handles like an F16 but with more sophistication IMHO.- 489 replies

I hear ya. if not Heatblur, some other developer. -
Its 8:20 Pm Eastern Standard Time in the US, May 22nd and the new DCS World update and my pre-ordered F4 have not shown up in my module manager. Am I missing something? Update: After doing the repair and cleanup...still no joy. Copied needed files, deleted DCS and reloaded it from the website and upon startup, well I'll be damned...There are all the downloads sitting in the module manager including the Phantom.

Hey, it’s a start. Perhaps in the not so distant future, Heatblur could come out with a full fidelity 2 seat FA/18 Super Hornet. That would be cool. -
DCS: Kola map by Orbx in Early Access available now!
Archangel44 replied to Graphics's topic in Official Newsletters
Cool map, however, dropping lower in altitude as in landing, frame rates are taking a beating. Hopefully it’s just my rig, but my older rig does well on other maps so I dunno. Update, now all of the maps I have are producing low frame rates. Perhaps the little update that was let out. -

My Dad, God rest his soul, was stationed at Pensacola at the beginning of the Cuban crisis and got out shortly after as an E4 Petty Officer 3rd Class. AN is the Naval rate for “Airman.” My bad on the 4 as I was thinking of E4. Dad was an Airman 3rd class. On another note, the Connie was one of last few flat tops that ran on steam boilers. I work on boilers and I can only image how massive and loud those are. Also, two of my kids did their 4 years of service, John was an IT Specialist 2nd class and was stationed in Norfolk. Beth was an Operation Specialist 3rd class ( Surface Radar ) aboard the DDG 103 Truxtun. My Uncle Don, Lt. Cmdr called destroyers “Tin Cans” as he served on them for about 20 years. He was hardly ever home as he loved the sea. Uncle Joe was an Electrician’s Mate aboard the submarine USS Piper during WWII. He showed me his Dolphin pin. Anyhow, thanks for the inquiry as it brings back fond memories. -

Let us not forget… my Dad’s favorite while he served as an AN 4 n the early 60’s…. The F-8 Crusader. -
+1 Im not one to complain, in fact I tell people if you don’t like it, do something about it to make it right. But Gulf Delta, How Foxtrot long do we have to wait for a programmer, who’s overwhelmed with multiple projects to take some time and fix these problems. It should not come as a surprise to the Dev’s that so many of their customers are opting out on the “Pre Purchase Programs. Folks aren’t interested in paying upfront for a product that only partially works just to have to wait for it to fixed, while the Dev’s move onto other projects. I smell ADD in the room and I’m considered a veteran in knowing these symptoms as I have had since 5 years old. Would you buy a new car created with the same care as ED does with its mods? Dont answer that publicly as it may affect your roll here as a moderator/ team member. Archangel out.

I’m really looking forward to the F4 coming out. One reason is that I really like the F14 but I’m not doing so well at it. Back in the days a little before the F14 came into service, our Navy guys were flying the Phantom, as they were still commissioned, they took from what the learned from the F4 and transitioned to the Tom Cat, same with the Tom Cat guys who transitioned to the Hornet when the Navy decided to retire the F14. I’m hoping that once I can get a handle on the F4, I’ll be at a point that the F14 will be easier for me. I found this true as I spent some quality time in the F5 and I believed it made it easier when I started learning the F16. Different animals I know, but there’s just something about the old saying of learning to crawl before you learn to walk then run and finally leap.
