As I understand it, XP and Vista will normally try to spread the load by running programs on all available cores. But BS (DCS.exe) overrules this and only uses Core 0 (the first core). This is hardcoded into the program. As far as fixing it, there will a patch (subject to change), but I don't know what will be in it. Kind regards, Bart

The program will make BS (DCS.exe) run on two cores, but what I get from other people that ran tests on performance gains is that running BS on two cores in XP makes almost no difference to running it on only one core; while running BS on two cores in Vista gives you a serious performance increase. Hi, you should be able to (re-)download both files : Go to http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com and log in. Click on "Files" and then "Products". You should get a product-page for the download version of Black Shark with your serial number showing. Clicking on the Download-button (right side of the screen) will take you to the page where you can start the downloads (where you select the server). Good luck, Bart

Appearing like a fixed-wing aircraft, this symbol indicates current aircraft pitch and roll in relation to the artificial horizon. Hello, yes, that is exactly what is happening (or not happening). I had some problems with the other axis too, but attributed that to my putting in some new hardware. I uninstalled and re-installed the CH-software and that seemed to work. But the pedals are not moving (I actually lowered my head to see the pedals in the KA-50 cockpit) Kind regards, Bart

Kuky, leave that "Register card with Cyberplat" tickbox switched OFF. ON means that you give your credit card details so they can be used for subsequent transactions. But in this case, you're only going to order once. If you leave that tickbox OFF, the rest of the process is pretty straightforward (see my post http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=561184&postcount=114). I haven't got my copies yet, though. Hello, When registering on the 1C site, make sure you select Russia as your country, otherwise you get an error saying that you cannot buy from that country (you can also change your country later by going to your personal page). After paying, go back to the KA-50 product page where you started. Make sure you are still logged in (your name should be displayed top right side). You should see two green links, just below the dollar sign (see printscreen below) : Click on each one to download both files. Good luck, Bart

How-to Buy Russian DVD Hello, I created a "manual" of how to buy the Russian DVD from http://www.qpig.ru, to help those that have trouble reading russian. I wrote this thing for people like me who can't wait, but will buy the International version when it's out too. Support ED, buy two ! I'm sure there are other ways to buy Black Shark, but this is how I did it. Two words of caution : 1. I have not yet received my DVDs. First buy was saturday november 1st, second buy was just now (november 3rd). There is information on qpig.ru that says that shop is closed on november 3rd & 4th, so I'm not worried (yet), just impatient. 2. I accept no responsibility for anything that might go wrong. You go back for a look-see and there's only ONE tank smoking and the other ones are still happilly rolling forward... Hello everyone, went to the show this morning and got to fly for about an hour and a half with Black Shark, and IT WAS GREAT :thumbup:. Most of that time was spent just flying around and trying to land, with emphasis on "trying". I did however get a succesfull landing (in a field somewhere) in realistic mode. This is going to be a beast to learn to fly and fight, and I can't imagine what the workload must be for the real pilots. The mission editor is still being worked on, apparently, but has a completely new interfaceDidn't really get the opportunity to play with that, though. The demo was running on a C2D E6750 with only 512 Mb of RAM. Lack of RAM showed when loading or exiting a mission, etc, but apart from that it ran at least as good as Flaming Cliffs is running on my current rig (C2D E6700 with 2 Gb of RAM), so most of us should be OK, I think. If you have a chance, you can still go tomorrow and get a preview of what Black Shark is going to be. I recommend it. I also want to take the opportunity to thank JimMack for taking the time to talk me through some of it and his wife, who promised to try and get me into the Beta Testers group (once she finds out whom I have to sleep with :cry:). Urze and Groove were there too, setting up their demo-system. The one I flew with also had Urze's Collective, and that really adds to the immersion. I think it would also be difficult to use. In a FPS, you do everything with your keyboard, so if you change the assignments, you're done. However, most people fly with a programmable joystick or HOTAS, so you'd have to change an assignment both in the Keyboard assignments in the game, and in your Joystick/HOTAS software.

Hi, If you're getting "Cyclic Redundacy check", this means that your CD/DVD-drive cannot read the disk (or part of the disk). This may be due to scratches or normal tear & wear or the reader being just to sensitive. You might want to try and read/install from your DVD-writer (if you have a separate one). If that doesn't work, you can try and build an old CD-reader or -writer in your computer and try with that. I've had the same problems when I last build my new computer with a brand new DVD-reader (with data disks, not with LOFC), then I temporarily build in a ten year old CD-writer and I can read the CD's just fine. If you get to a point where you can read the complete disk, be sure to make a copy of the CD. Of course, you can also try to run/copy the CD on another computer (if you still have your old computer, or find a buddy that lets you try that). Good luck
