Start talking OV-10 Bronco. Now you got my attention and wallet.

I'm using a modified set of files created by Capt_Zeen for the monitor.lua and the MFD's. I have noticed zero effect on FPS. Don't think so but don't really know about blanking the MFD's on the main monitor. I don't think you would need to worry about it though. I have the same export setup for the A-10 and don't notice any FPS drop with the Mav's etc.

I've updated my setup with a 3rd Cougar MFD. https://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=190329&d=1532048082

To be honest, I used the trial and error method. For me what worked the best is 411x411 for the DDI's and 420x420 for the AMPCD.

Power management during carrier practice since update
gear_monkey replied to gear_monkey's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Totally agree with your logic. The issue that caused the original concern, however, is these are the same missions/weights I've been using since the Hornet was released. Haven't had this issue until after yesterday's update. -
Power management during carrier practice since update
gear_monkey replied to gear_monkey's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
I've tried weights from 39.5k from the Carrier Cold and Dark mission down to 33k from some other custom Case I missions. There is no doubt I'm having to stay right at or just below Max MIL and any slight power reduction causes a large sink rate increase. -
Flying the bug for the first time today after doing the update. While doing Case I and Case III practice, I immediately noticed the need for much more power with gear/flaps in landing configuration. I am having to keep the power at or very near max mil to maintain AOA and proper descent rates. During a bolter or wave off I am having to use burner to get back into the correct alt and airspeed. Am I nuts or anyone else notice this? Not a complaint, just wondering if it's something on my end.

Sorry for late reply, just saw this. By the way...all credit for this goes to Capt_Zeen over in the Input/Output section. First, go to his website and download the export.lua from this page: http://www.captzeen.com/helios/downloads.asp Second, go to this thread and look at post #24 from Capt_Zeen. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=210138&page=3 Download the "MonitorConfiguration Final.rar" file he has in his post and unzip it on your desktop. What I did was open my default DCS folder in one screen and then opened the unzipped rar file in another and opened Capt_Zeen's folder's to see what he had done. In my case the only things I wanted exported are the 2 DDI's and the AMPCD so I ignored the folders for the RWR and UFC, etc. So, in other words, I only ended up copying over his .lua files from: 1) Config -> MonitorSetup -> 2_monitors-FA18.lua 2) Mods -> aircraft -> FA-18C -> Cockpit -> Scripts -> Multipurpose_Display_Group Once you have those .lua's copied over to your DCS install folder, you have to open the 2_monitors-FA18.lua with Notepad++. Since I only wanted the DDI's and AMPCD, I deleted everything else in the lua and then changed the x and y values to move my exported screens to the location I wanted on the second monitor. by the way for me the DDI's fit perfect into the Thrustmaster MFD's with a size of 411x411. The MPCD i have at 512x512. Hope that helps and makes sense.

F18 MFD exports now work with a very quick tweak.
gear_monkey replied to Cowboy10uk's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
this is not my experience at all. When I first exported the DDI's and AMPCD, the only issue was very thin unreadable lines and text. By tweaking the line in the .lua file, the lines were thickened and visually "normal". This had zero effect on my HUD display. -

When you guys say "the lines aren't drawn properly". If you mean too thin and hard to read, there is a simple .lua edit to fix that. I'm on my phone and don't have it handy but go check out Capt_Zeen thread in Input/Output section -
Holy smokes, the music during the taxi in put my buttkicker into overdrive. Haha, nice touch.

Thrustmaster MFD's in that list by chance?

MFDs on separate monitor or Ultra MFCD Help please!
gear_monkey replied to Kenpilot's topic in DCS Modding
I play in full screen with no issues. -
Awesome Sedlo! Thanks for your dedication and hard work!
-
Yes you can. I don't have it right now as I'm on my phone but there is an lua edit that thickens the lines and font and makes it much more readable. ETA: ok just re-read your original question. My response only makes the green font that is overlaid on the moving map easier to see/read

I really don't understand this thread

Sedlo You're awesome. Your 2 missions are fantastic and alot of fun. Please keep them coming! One suggestion: I would love to start the missions from a cold/dark aircraft and go through engine start and checklists.

Wags has stated DDI exporting will be in next patch before end of month. -

Not the mobile version. I'm referencing the desktop software. It allows you to basically drag, drop, and resize the MFD's on the A-10. Something similar for the F-18 would be great. -
Hi folks, for years I've been using the Virtual cockpit server for DCS world to export the MFD's of the A-10C to a second monitor. Now that the F-18 is here, I want to do the same. Is anyone using the virtual server software to do this?

For years I've been using DCS Virtual Server to export the A-10C MFD's. Is this somehow compatible? In DCS, under options, my screen selection is set to "A-10C Virtual Server" -
I am doing the same but not to increase the sound volume but to increase the frequency so my Buttkicker creates more vibration. For example, I've increased the vibrations from the gun, carrier launch, landings, etc. By default most were at or below a value of 1. If I really want some serious vibration feedback is set it from 8-10.
