I see them in all of Wags videos but I'm not getting them either.

Nah, but it is the reason my post count is low. I get it in the civilian aviation sim world as well. I've been a real airline and corporate pilot for 20+ years yet I get internet commandos telling me I'm wrong about airplanes I'm type rated in or NAS procedures I use everyday.

It boggles my mind that we have 2 folks with real life experience in this thread yet the internet experts keep yakking away. I would recommend we pay attention to Alpha and Sinnerman49

I tried this today. I created a mission with a carrier steaming at 27 kts with me starting cold and dark on the deck. Wow, the aircarft was all kinds of wonky trying to weather vane into the wind and trying to taxi was like camels on ice skates.

The guy who made the video is a real Hornet pilot and now is an instructor pilot in the Hawk teaching new carrier pilots. Unlike all the stuff coming out of the virtual squadron world (don't mean to offend), his video is top notch because what he is showing is real life data from a real life carrier pilot.

Interested. Was the card overclocked or had any issues?

I love the Bronco. If you guys want a great experience, get the OV-10 Bronco for FSX. It is spectacular and was developed with real operators so the engines, performance, and flight model are top notch. I love it. http://en.shop.aerosoft.com/eshop.php?action=article_detail&s_supplier_aid=12094&s_design=DEFAULT&shopfilter_category=Flight+Simulation&s_language=english

HaHa! good stuff guys! I once did a post flight walkaround and found several constant hydraulic drips coming from the right main landing gear doors. We had landed at a small out-station with no maintenance support. When I called maintenance back at home base, the mechanic stated, "Are you sure there is a problem? We are gonna have to cancel your next flight and dead head a mechanic out there on the next flight!?!" Yep, sorry, this is for realzz We had to wait several hours for the next flight. Once it landed and the people deplaned, I see the mechanic get off the aircraft and walk very angrily over to my aircraft, and without talking to me, sat down under the wheel well and manually opened the gear doors. What happened next was a pleasure, the mechanic was bathed in hydraulic fluid like the old movie Flash Dance. Apparently a main hydraulic line had burst and then proceeded to drain all the fluid onto the closed gear doors. Poor guy was covered head to toe in hydraulic fluid. thank goodness it wasn't Skydrol. Here's a hilarious video about the pilot/mechanic relationship...careful, there is strong language [ame] [/ame]

No, we are just usually in the front row seat when the thing you said you fixed fails to adhere to the proposed remedy..... Sorry, couldn't resist....I've got 20+ years of pilot/mechanic relations

I'd love a mod that would get away from the Soviet style block runways and replicate the "western" style. Anything like this exist? Thanks

Hold Short Lines & Runway Incursions

I'd love it if we could just get away from the old Soviet style block runways and get some Western style pavement and markings -
If you want some more really good U2 footage, watch the Mythbusters episode where Adam Savage gets to go on a sortie.

Russian Air Force Photos and Video (NO DISCUSSION)
gear_monkey replied to Flаnker's topic in Military and Aviation
The helicopter does not survive. There is a longer clip that shows the results. The chopper flies around in "lazy" descending circles, I'm assuming the crew was seeking a landing/crash site. Eventually it does a very hard landing and is consumed by post crash fire. I can only hope the crew made it out. -

is there an expiration date to these things? -
I have the same issue, can't figure out how to turn off radio and speech subtitles. Any ideas?

Kudos to Low Blow!! He helped me through the A10C Virtual Server software and it works perfect for exporting the MFCD's.

[news] Russian Bomber crashed in Pacific

I'm by no means an SU-24 pilot but that is a centerline thrust aircraft much like a T-38 or F-18. They have no Vmc. -
Funny how flying worlds are so different. Those skin dents around the right static port would ground the aircraft I fly due to RVSM limitations.

I flew the Canadair CRJ-200 for 3 years. It has the same engines as the A-10. I have also experienced a high pressure turbine failure. It was right at rotation as we put the gear handle up. Twin engine jet aircraft do very well single engine but having one come apart on you in an active combat zone would add a whole new level of concern to the situation.

I have boosted the gain on the following: A10 GAU gun aircraft ground roll Gear doors up/down Speed brakes Weapons release WindnoiseIn These really add to immersion for me.
-
As I understand it, ATC declared an emergency for them once they noticed the rapid and large altitude loss.

Have you gone to Sounds/Weapons and clicked on WeaponReleaseIn? If you double click on this wav file, you can hear what you should be hearing in the game. If its silent, that is your problem. If it works, its a setting in your Options menu. Also, if its just not loud enough, you can manually increase the gain within the file itself using Notepad++ I use a Buttkicker, so I increased the gain from 1.0 to 8.0. Now I get a good solid jolt through the airframe when I pickle a weapon.

Man I love the Bronco. If only we could transfer this into DCS!
