  1. In progress for a couple of years now...:pilotfly:
  2. I think 1.5 is a lower priority these days to maintain, although they are prepping it to allow for the WWII asset pack.
  3. Pretty much a true statement. You won't find me arguing with you too much on that. I am trying to stay optimistic. We wont know until there is an official announcement. Maybe there will be a buzz in another 2 months to give us more confidence.
  4. It's going to be a long 6 months if this goes out to the end of the year, if it takes that long. We are getting close though. :)
  5. I understand your skepticism but this might give a little more hope....
  6. The poll is just for fun. The same reason why we play DCSW. Not all polls have to have value for decision making purposes...right?
  7. Added the poll for you Winston and made it multiple selection.
  8. Nice find Weasel! I wish I could rep you!
  9. Wow I hadn't thought of that. +1
  10. My hope is that it is closer than what is being led on by all the silence. Yes I know there have been a lot of resource dedicated to the Normandy map to get it to early release, but I believe there has been some resources dedicated to the Caucasus map to keep the work going in parallel with Normandy.
  11. F/A-18C is several months away according to Matt. Could be towards the end of the year for all we know. What else have they said to give you anything definitive as to it being before 2.5? Do you have the pulse of ED? There are no dates for either item, but we do know that both are being worked on and resources are shifting to completing the Caucasus map. So why is it not relevant or worthy for discussion? I will agree that I am skeptic about SoH, but again what do you or I know on the true status of this map? There was a mention in another thread that there may be a surprise for this year and SoH could very well be that. You can call it reaching, but is it really not worth a discussion?
  12. I am not sure how true it is now, but my understanding was that the F/A-18C would usher in naval ops for the SoH map which is dependent on 2.5. If it is true then it has to become relevant before the Hornet.
  13. BOOM! My thoughts exactly!
  14. I have noticed that there are new threads creeping up over time on the various items for example, DCS F/A-18C OFP..., DCS Newsletter Discussion, DCS World 1.5 & 2.0 Open Alpha and I just noticed today DCS Update Patch Notes Discussion. Is it ok to open this new thread to discuss what I believe most us agree to be the biggest milestone for ED since launching the DCS series? It seems to be barely mentioned since all the hype on WWII and it's elements. Don't get me wrong I love what ED has done to bring this forward I applaud them for it. Also the F/A-18C has stolen a lot of thunder since it was announced it would be demonstrated at E3 and there is nothing negative to say about that either. It's getting a lot of deserved attention. I do have to ask Matt and any ED staff where is the PR for 2.5 and the Caucasus map? Is it not mature enough to mention or post any WIP pics? I do recall something from last year ... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=170914 I am sure I am not the only one who is interested in the status of this. :)
  15. After hearing what Matt said in the F-18 video, posted today, it seems they are going to hold off towards the end of the year now. Hopefully there won't be a repeat of last year in delaying the Hornet again. With that said I think RAZBAM's harrier will come first after seeing their progress and I am sure ED's wants to space the release dates of each module so as to not steal the thunder from each one. My thoughts on the F-14 release... Cobra mentioned they are going to "try" to release before the end of the year? I would take that with a grain of salt. Cobra's reputation to holding to any timeline is bad, if you take into consideration the track record of promised news letters from the past. In fairness to him he may be bound by NDA, thus limiting information to us and coding for each of these modules are as complex as it gets, so there are unknowns that push dates out.
  16. I would be all over this! Pardon me for going OT, but I could see a nice coffee mug on my desk and a nice shirt with an ED logo and a big pic promoting one of the modules, for my Friday dress down day. :)
  17. +1. I would totally wear that at work. Sith where are you? We talked about this before. :)
  18. I expect some news to drop on the hornet with all the publicity at E3 over the week. Some updates on progress of 2.5 would be nice also although I expect it anytime soon.
  19. They haven't hinted at a throttle quadrant for the Hornet. They very clearly said "add on stick" to the Warthog, which is what was shown. That's for this unveiling. They could very well have a full setup like the HOTAS Warthog down the road. This could be just a stepping stone to get there.
  20. Hey MegOhm you may have missed this part... There seems to be substantial progress still.
  21. Thanks for sharing! Also a nice job snagging that 1 wire considering it was your second attempt ever in the module. :)
  22. Hahahaha! I'm sure it goes a lot deeper Olgerd.
  23. Yes, the AG radar picture itself works. It is not integrated into F/A-18 displays yet. Ahh ok. That to me is a minor hurdle then in the grand scheme of things. I guess it's a matter of getting the info from the RADAR to talk to the other systems?
  24. Not yet Wow. I thought this portion of development would have been well in hand by now. Oh well...keep pressing on.
  25. Thank you for correcting me. :) I knew there was a snag there somewhere. I don't know how things work at E3, but one would think that Thrust Master and the VR hardware developers would jump on board to show off their gear for the best experience! :) Sorry for going OT.
