The reasons for the 1.5.8 release only... My hunch is that 2.5 will come in the next couple of weeks maybe and usher in the Harrier. Purely speculation I mind you. It's early access after all and to get it in OB is better than nothing at all. :thumbup:

My reaction of course to the 2.5 ... My days with ED began back in the Lock on era. Although my true passion is with the modern combat aircraft I have enjoyed the WWII content almost as much. Knowing that my purchases of the WWII go into sustaining and supporting the modern aircraft I will continue to purchase modules and maps for that era as well. Thanks for the insight Matt and a fist bump to the entire ED staff and 3rd party players for a great product and continued success to you all! :thumbup:

Could 2.5 come before Christmas? If so I can see a lot of my time off enjoying it!

Why is someones negative reaction considered narrow minded? Just being truthful towards the news. It's simple feedback. It can't always be sunshine and roses especially when there are expectations for other things.

What does 1.5.8 bring besides the Harrier? To me it's all about 2.5 and the merge. Be it in the form of early access, public test or whatever they choose to call it, will it be this year or more can kicking in 2018?

Let's hope the next "alpha" update is actually 2.5 to usher in the updated Caucasus map.

Reading this update, it seem like 2017 is no longer the target for release. :( What cataclysmic event happened? Not to take away from the massive update and delivering a big bone to some hungry dogs on this forum, but yeah it looks like a 2017 delivery is not going to happen. I think the Harrier, hopefully a hornet and DCSW 2.5 delivery before the end of the year will carry us through well into next year.

Sounds like the content is frozen and bug squashing remains. Are we looking at a potential announcement that will likely be handled like pre-sales or a version that could come up on a Wednesday or Friday update? Not saying it will happen this week or next....
