  1. You're sadistic!
  2. There is absolutely no evidence or indicator that the units being assembled in China have anything at all to do with anything. If it is a failure by a specific component, unless the component was actually fabricated in China, blaming China labor for the failure is stupid. It could be due to a batch of bad components that could have been produced in the USA for that matter, or it could be an inherent design issue. Who knows, but looking at my Hog, it does not feel nor look cheap and it also feels solid and not flimsy. I cannot see any fault in the way it was assembled and wouldn't be able to guess where it was assembled. Just more bashing from a non-Hog owning mouthpiece.
  3. Awesome pit! What kind of keyboard is that?
  4. Fuel indicator, cannon ammo or flares level indicator, external lighting indicator....... Really, I think they will be useful with A10.
  5. Are you going to cut the fingertips out?
  6. How can you tell me what way I chose to read something? And, where is your Hog? Also, are you looking at some kind of internal meno from TM stating to "Let the guy rot for a week"? You are making my point though in that it appears those that do not even have the Hog are the most vocal. You are making some pretty strong accusations against TM too and I doub't you even own ANY TM products, much less have experienced their tech support. The next time we, as a community, decide we are going to stick together and stick it to a company, think also about this genre we love so much and the very few companies out there willing to continue bringing us products, especially at the risk of being chastised and attacked to no end when things don't go perfect. And especially when those attacks are coming from the misinformed. Finally, I would ask you pointedly, what to you hope your words produce?
  7. How many brick and mortar stores carry the Hog? I've never seen the Hog advertised on TV. Where are all these mystery buyers that may have bad throttles but no Internet connection, so we assume they are out there, silently suffering? Really, why are the folks that don't have a Hog so vocal in this thread? Even the folks that have experienced the issue aren't as vocal. I have not heard anyone with the issue bad mouth TM for their supposed lack of, or reluctant support.
  8. I agree. If my throttle bricked, I would have to figure out a new way to ramp start. What bothers me is there sounds like some kind of notion coming from this thread that TM is a fly-by-night that is only out to rip folks off type of company. In my experience with their products, dating back to F16 and F22 and Cougar gear, and though not perfect in each case, all were well supported by not only TM, but also by the community (Bob Church's chips for instance) and have served me well. I mean, this thread starts out pointing out the minimal lateral play in the throttle handles, as if TM has suddenly created a way to create a mechanical device that moves, with zero clearance, other than the clearance needed to move forward and backward. Silly. Where else do we expect such tolerances? Some folks read that and come away with "TM is sloppy/cheap". etc. Much to the contrary, at least in my case, the Hog is built better than I expected and better than any current offering. Heck, TM went more than a few steps above the Cougar when it comes to the Hog (switches and buttons, HALL), and that say's a lot. Sure, we are using the first iterration of this HOTAS. Version 2.0 might correct some things, and improve others, but we are first adopters of this HOTAS too. Anyone feeling like they may be a beta tester should just wait for Version 2.0, me thinks.
  9. There are several 'complaints' in this thread from folks that don't even own a Hog. Also, from everything I see, TM has been very responsive for the folks that have had problems. I don't think the problem is big enough for a TM rep to step up and confirm some wide-spread issue that really does not sound wide-spread yet. I do sympathize with the folks that wound up with a non-working throttle, but I am not convinced that my throttle is going to die based on what I've seen here. I guess time will tell.
  10. I don't dislike the Hog stick, but the Cougar with U2/Nxt is just more precise for me.
  11. Wow, I had no idea Simpeds evolved so much! I love my 'ol RCS but I dread the day I break a spring again. Well, not so much anymore. Simped time for me soon.
  12. Thanks! Thought I was doing something wrong.
  13. Does the RWR work for you guys?
  14. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=64509
  15. Really, does it matter what type of gloves they are? You're inside a hopefully heated house while simming. No fear of frostbite. Still, Nomex gloves are just cool!
  16. Agreed, especially if you are not mechanically inclined. It's amazing how they packed so much into the handle. Putting it back together could prove a huge challenge.
  17. TM needs to step up. This is kind of like the issues we saw, and still can see with the Cougar whereas the Cougar can basically become undetectable from a particular USB port, never to be detected from that port ever again, unless you reinstall Windows. Sounds like a sloppy driver to me. Wake up Thrustmaster! Good hardware is no good without software to back it!
  18. It really is! SeBur, will you adopt me?
  19. You will need to edit the .lua's yourself as well as get multi-monitor setup. Once that's done, in Helios, you simply click on the Editor button and then click on the pulldown Profile/Reset Monitors. If you ever change the screen resolotion of your monitor that will display Helios, you will have to Reset Monitors again. I have my main display and the display running my 19" monitor running from the two DVI ports of my primary card. I have an 8" touchscreen connected to a secondary video card. As long as you run the main display and the exported MFD's from the same vid card, the FPS hit is minimal. If you export the MFD's via the secondary card, the FPS hit is nasty. It does not seem to matter which display or vid card you use for Helios but at least on my system, running Helios to both my 8" and 19" causes a significant hit, though running on one or the other seems is fine. I suspect it is because when I use both monitors for Helios, there is a lot of additional CPU processing going on, but I don't think it's related to lack of video horse power.
  20. Yes, the Cougar is U2/Nxt modded. My WH handle will not fit into the Cougar base, probably due to the mod.
  21. Alembic has a way of making any amp sound great! They craft the finest instruments in the world IMHO.
  22. His problem has nothing to do with software, that for sure! :-)
  23. I would go with SCS and Flim. That's where I got my Hog from. Click on this and you will understand :-) http://www.scsimulations.com/
  24. I like to resume from standby by touching a key on my keyboard, so that is not an option for me. It's pretty obvious that TM needs to fix this themselves, not us. They should hurry too because I really do think folks constantly pugging in and unplugging their throttles is not a good thing and probably causing failures.
