  1. Cayenne, I recently hooked my old BK1 back up and though it works great, your post got me wondering about something. The BK1 amp has one single RCA output jack. I plug the ground loop isolator, which incidentally has two RCA plugs, one red, one black. The other end of the ground loop isolator is a Y splitter whereas the red and black RCA plugs combine to a 1/2" banana plug and I plug this end into my headphone jack on my X-FI. Does it matter that one of the male RCA plugs at the BK end is just there dangling, and does it matter which one I use, red or black? Everything works great and this is exactly how I had it hooked up years ago but I am curious if this is how it's supposed to be connected. Thanks in advance, Slam
  2. Since getting this 30" monitor, I've had to rearrange everything. I'm not using my MFD's now and I'm not sure I miss them. I have my Dell 2005FPW that I had the MFD's attached to sitting next to my U3011 in portrait mode. It's great for referencing documentation while having other work stuff on the main display. I am thinking of attaching one MFD to my 8" Lilliput again but really, I've gotten so used to the great fps I get running A10 in full-screen mode, plus the fact that when I connect two monitors to my 580GTX, my idle temp goes from 37C to 50C (connecting two displays causes the card to not downclock while in 2D mode). Plus, I'm getting almost as fast as Wags in clicking those MFD buttons with the mouse instead. Also, Alt-F1 makes for HUGE MFD displays with great clarity. Exporting them @ 1024x768 is very nice too but they have to be scaled smaller so that they fit into the MFD frame. Sorry for making so many excuses against the MFD's but I'm really just pissed that my desk is not big enough to go back to my old setup :-(
  3. "I play on 27'' and 1980x1050 and one can see the pixels when zooming in a bit." I'm guessing that is a TV screen? I can almost see your pixels from here!
  4. Ya think? :megalol:
  5. Run the program Firmware Update in the Thrustmaster/Hotas Warthog folder in start menu.
  6. I came to a decision point between adding two more 24" @ 1920x1200 or one 30" and I chose the 30" since one huge display is almost like 3D to me and plus I need the screen real estate for work too. I still have the 24" next to it though. I would love triple screen but it will be awhile before I get there since I not only will need two more 30" displays, I'll also need a much bigger desk.
  7. Really? I'd do my best to assist you if you can't because B4 is a pretty huge simulation - complete or not. Hopefully you can at least run any of the previous betas because as long as I've been running them, they all challenge me. I really haven't been affected by many of the the bugs that have been addressed after beta3 because I've been just so focused on learning the aircraft and systems (I think I purchased during B2). Maybe it was B1. No matter. Huge study sim, with lots to experience. Lots to learn. But if you are missing all this, you are really missing something special. I have not been this 'into' it since buying FalconX? with 3-ring binder doc. I actually feel like I need to dig that book out of the closet now because of DSC A-10. Maybe I should re-read some of my old Jane's title docs too because back then, it seemed a lot of the sim docs included more than just the button functions, they also included lessons and docs on how to survive. MAKE your system happy with the beta's if you can.
  8. Sure, you'll get them tomorrow. Just like you already said you already had them two weeks ago. And that had me perplexed since you indicated so many Customs problems yet you got them at the same time a USA person got them, but whatever. Just like you said you already got your Hog several weeks ago, but recanted and said it was still stuck in Customs recently, hence your inability to recently identify a USB tag on the cable (which does not exist on mine, btw), probably a photoshopped pic, but you acted like you were familiar with it.. Do you have a Hog or the Saitek peddles? Have you even purchased either? Do you even have a PC? I could post what you post with just my cell phone - if I were so bored. All done. As you were.
  9. You do realize that for each time I read a whine like this, your Karma is getting lower scores? You'll get beta 6. Maybe beta 7 too. Should we expect the same whine when we wait for beta 8? Seriously, what about beta 4 is making everyone so fricken nuts? I having a helluva time with b4 right now and STILL have not read the entire manual.
  10. Ya know, my Cougar MFD's have been doing this from day one. They constantly drop out and reconnect daily. Sometimes, they won't light back up and I have to go into Device manager and disable/re-enable to get them to light up again. Very random too - sometimes it's the left MFD, sometime the right one. Both were plugged into my monitors USB HUB. I just got my Dell U3011 yesterday and neither of the MFD's are hooked up now. I do have the Hog throttle plugged into the monitor USB hub though. So far, no issues. I also had the Hog plugged into my old monitor, but also ran it plugged into the mobo for a few weeks, no issues.
  11. Hence why I went with a monitor with high resolution. Really, this trend of 27"+ monitors @ 1920x1080 is not a good thing. 27"+ @ 1920x1080=nice TV or gaming monitor for your PC, but not a nice computer monitor, unless you only use your PC for gaming, and nothing else.
  12. Agreed TAIPAN. I tried my Sharp TV with HDMI @ 1920x1080 and though it is awesome for gaming, it really sux as a PC monitor because you cannot really make text look good unless you enlarge the text so big that it looks crazy. My rig doubles as my workstation, for work, so I need to be able to read word documents and spreadsheets and 1920x1080 just does not work for that at 32". Enlarging the font is not a solution either. My U3011 will be here tomorrow.
  13. You know, that actually is a good question in that I don't think DCS has any intention of charging you twice, so now I'm kind of wondering too, if there is any type of integration between the DCS distribution with Steam. My apologies to the OP of the question because I can read it two different ways, depending on which hand my beer is in.
  14. Do you think it would be fair for DCS to charge us twice? Do you really think DCS would do that? Especially, after your contribution, which not only includes the money you have already paid, but also any input you might contribute during the beta that could potentially make the released product even better?
  15. Exactly. I have two Cougar HOTAS's. One developed a problem. Because I had two, I was able to identify the issue to be a failed PCB by swapping the PCB's around. Both were out of warranty. Explaining that to TM, they sent me a knew PCB for $20.00. TM does stand behind their stuff.
  16. If there were the same number of AMD users out there as there are Intel, I'm betting we would have seen some failures from AMD users too. I think the reason we haven't yet is because there are not enough AMD users with the Hog, and the failure rate is not as high as some would make it out to be. Really, all this blaming Intel, Asus, and whatnot is kind of silly. The problem, bottom line, is something TM will need to address, not AMD, Intel or Asus. Now, I am done with this subject as it seems I am making enemies. Peace.
  17. I bit the bullet and just bought the Dell U3011 instead.
  18. In the other thread, the user asked TM if he could just send the circuit board instead of the entire throttle to save on shipping costs and TM agreed to do that instead.
  19. You asked the question of why don't we see the throttles failing with AMD, and I attempted to explain it to you as best I could. I also incorrectly made the assumption that I was dealing with a person of reasonable or average intelligence. Don't forget to put your helmet on next time because too many head injuries can have a culmulative effect on the brain, making you a difficult person to have a reasonable conversation with. :helpsmilie:
  20. Mr. Suc, Let's assume that out of 1000 WH throttles, 1 will fail. Now, let's put those 1000 throttles out in the wild, where 90% PC's are Intel, and 10% are AMD. Is is coming any clearer to you now? "i find it strange that the firmware can t be hard reset to 0 and the mobo has to be changed.(but then i m no specialist)" TM offerered the customer the option of sending in the circuit board. I'd bet money that TM will not have to replace any component on the failed unit and will just reprogram it instead.
  21. How many AMD systems are there out there vs. Intel systems? What is the ratio? Now, what is the overall ratio of failed vs. non-failed throttles? Do the math. And if you are really aware, in the old days we used to home cook eeproms. Not something TM would expect anyone to be able to do at home these days.
  22. He had two units brick. He is on his third. Please let that lil bus pass now, ok?
  23. Holy crap! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzz'sssss
  24. I must have stopped on the wrong planet again.....
