  1. Pushing this back up. I've been using this in other games (Ghost Recon: Wildlands) and it's very cool tech. Naturally, it wouldn't work in any Multiplayer format, but at the same time, it could totally work for Single-Play and Replay (where there are no MP inputs). Its very powerful, allows 3D and 360 screenshots and upsamples up to 16K screen size. Very fun to use as well.
  2. Concerning Joystick and springs... What the world of joysticks need is a proper Hydraulic system like they do for Sim Handbrakes and brake pedals (load cells). Don't confuse this with ForceFeedback tho. Load cell: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Load_cell Load cells create retension in pressure to simulate digitally what an hydraulic pressure does (on brake pedals...). The next step is an actual Hydraulic system. Here's an example of what an Hydraulic handbrake is: DSD hydralic Hand Brake: http://www.derekspearedesigns.com/handbrake.html Also, Destin from SmarterEveryDay explains briefly the Hydraulic situation of a joystick in his T38 video (lucky bastard): (He explains the Joystick issue at the 5mins mark during the Loop maneuver). An Hydraulic system would create this effect, which is more realistic and would prevent the spring issue. In essence, the Joystick with an Hydraulic system would "go rigid" when the pressure is "activated" when you play. Anyways... cheers,
  3. I see this has been a very popular post.
  4. Well that's just it tho. I'm looking at more official server services... the links that run LOL or OverWatch. (yes those are paying servers). But i still need valid information, which i can't seem to find in official DCS communiqué.
  5. I would think so. But is there an "official chart" ? Lets say i want to support 124 players? What do i need?
  6. Really cool seeing the F5 flying around. The Sounds are incredible and quite interesting (when firing). Also, lots more smoke than expected from the exhaust.
  7. Hey guys, Been toying around with the idea of weekly PvP mission-based server events. Similar to what we were doing about 10 years ago in IL2 Forgotten Battles. However, i'm trying to figure out what's the possible load the game can sustain, player wise. Seems certain servers go up to 60, while others easily crash after 10-12... Any guidelines/help? Perhaps external server service (Amazon or other?)
  8. Actually, that's not a bad idea. I didn't know you could use this on a moving target... Do we have unlimited flags?
  9. Especially since i'm sitting in the train you're driving... J/k ;)
  10. Hopefully the new ATC system will include actual Taxi direction from ATC. Then you can Kneepad the airport map and find your way (as real pilots do anyhow).
  11. Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out a way to rate or grade formation flying by script. When setting up AIs, you can tell them to escort and maintain a certain position around the escortee, but i'm trying to figure out the same method for Clients (players). What i'd like to do is; be able to determine at which distance from the lead, each plane is flying. For example; Ideal position would be 5 meters aft and 2 meters behind. So the ranking could be 4-6 aft and 1.5 to 2.5 behind = good position 6-8 aft and 2.5 to 5 behind = bad position and so on... Any idea?
  12. Man, this looks DOPE!
  13. I have the same issue.

    Smoke !

    Ahh Simmers. So funny sometimes.
  15. Retried tonight with a friend. Both couldn't make contact with the Boom on a turn. The boom stays stiff and doesn't "seek" to connect. The second the turn action is complete (from the tanker), the boom "Wakes up" and contact can be made again.
  16. Or CTRL-E 3 times.
  17. Out of curiosity, why not "rename" the Mistral to "Lilkiki" ?

    Smoke !

I think the smoke is fine as it is. It looks cool, it feels cool.
  19. While in the editor, Have the ability to "Right Click" somewhere and immediately get the clicked location's coordinates in L/L or UTM. Furthermore, have these coordinates copied to clipboard in order to note rapidely and/or include in messages or mission-specific briefings. (for direction, readback or CDU/INS training). Functionality suggestion:
  20. Sigh. Thanks Kartoffel.
  21. Hey guys, Is there a way to get UTM coordinates from the Editor? I'd like to add this in a mid-mission briefer, but i seem to only get LongLats ? Thanks for the help.
